"TLDR While I'm not a professional food critic at all, this is the best meal I've ever had in my whole life. On our trip to Vienna, my fiancée and I saw some places that would be good to taste traditional Viennese cuisine. Wratschko appeared on a list and it was even mentioned that Anthony Bourdain came here, so we thought it was worth it. So the FOOD. In our first night we ordered the meatballs with potatoes and the chicken in a Chanterelle sauce with emptying. The chicken was completely boiled, but remained juicy and tender. The sauce was a tad more salty when I like it, but the whole dish was still incredible. The meatballs were dense and savory, and the well seasoned with its own unique sauce of this dish. The thick sides came exactly as they should in texture and taste (okay, actually the potatoes were nothing but I ever tasted somewhere else creamy, fluffy, but also had pieces of diced potatoes. Both times we got them, they tasted so and it was unbelievable), and even the steamed vegetables that seemingly added the dish only to the taste profiles of the dishes. These vegetables kept their natural colors as boiled, and each night was crunchy and bright, contrasting the denser aromas of meat and starches. This meal was so good, we had to come back to Vienna last night. During this second visit, which I write as I eat, we ordered the cooked beef with pumpkin oil as a starter (similar to a table tip) the minced meat balls (Faser wanted to repeat this) and the roasted lamb. The boiled beef was very interesting. It tasted almost like a Vietnamese beef salad, except with more European flavors. The pumpkin oil was mixed with a hint of balsamicum and the herb aroma of parsley pierced just enough with every bite of beef, spiral radicchio and cubed peppers. The roasted lamb would be #3 if I had all the main dishes we tried, but still perfectly cooked, and it's just mistake that I feel like I had the same dish in another restaurant. Finally, during this second visit we ordered to share the pancakes with apricot jam as dessert. It's more a thick crepe than a pancake. Fluffy, with some sugary carburized ends, balanced with the tartness of the jam, and dusted with some powder sugar. Delicious. As far as the environment is concerned, the restaurant has a cozy, old contemporary interior with candlesticks and wooden walls. The bottom of the inside is that it is not well ventilated and the kitchen smokes billows a bit. You smell like a little fat. You have an outdoor seating, if you can't stand it, you can wait outside? There is a server/bartender/bus girl and a chef working this whole restaurant. This place is from this world. I will miss this restaurant more than the rest of Vienna."

Nice classic Austrian food in an old fashioned setting. Real friendly servers. If you don't like feeling like a smoked fish ask for a seat in the non-smoking section. The cow tongue starter was delicious.

Stunning old Austrian cuisine. Besides perfect yet perfect!! The only thing is that you might have to wait for a bit because they only get a cook. But order a pinch of decent local beer for yourself and maybe you can have a great conversation with the owner about indie music.

Man könnte sagen: Hausmannskost neu interpretiert.

Warum man da hin soll - bleibt schleierhaft.
