"The Yalda has similarities to the typical restaurants by the Hiltl brothers, like the Hiltl itself and Tibits. This time, the difference is that it has meat on its menu. It also means that there is self service and a buffet and said buffet, like the ones of the aforemented places, is just waiting for the guest to be chosen from a wide variety. But let's not be fooled, there are Arab kitchens in Switzerland and they are very different than that of Yalda. First of all, the seasoning is really not that great, honestly, the food is kind of bland and that's another common thing with the Hiltl restaurant. The only meat they served was chicken and that chicken were either meatballs or strange little pieces in a big bowl. There were also salads and veggies and these looked the same like the typical convenience veggie in Switzerland: carrots, white cabbage and broccoli. The rice was dry but it came with sprinkles of pome grenade. The pitta bread was ok, the whole food was ok, but that's all. The filled plate cost 48 Swiss Francs. That's one of the most expensive plates in the country except for fine dining. I understand that the rent at the Europaallee must be high, but that's nothing less than a total ripoff. Did I mention this was self service? It's no wonder that Google Zürich headquarters is in the same street and probably there are enough clueless people thinking that this is ok. No, it's not ok. And this is just pseudo Arab food. So, all in all this was on of the more expensive meals last month but for that money I have seen so much better!"

Nice buffet, dessert great. Unfortunately the food is not quite hot on the plate and the prices are not differentiated. Whether I eat falafel, meat, salad or bread, it all costs the same amount, which makes no sense to me. Chairs a bit uncomfortable and drafty but very nicely decorated inside and nice staff.

Zurich, a vibrant Swiss city, blends medieval charm with modern flair. Typical cuisine includes Zürcher Geschnetzeltes, a creamy veal dish, often served with Rösti.

"This is my fav Italian joint in Zurich. La Famiglia Tremonte is a small, family run cafe-restaurant that serves excellent and authentic Italian food at prices that are low compared to the norm in Zurich.Famiglia Tremonte is rather inconspicuously located at the corner of Zurlindenstrasse and Birmensdorferstrasse, a couple of doors away from The Desperado Mexican Restaurant. You might need to look for it a little: I lived practically next door and did not notice it for almost a year, and even then a friend had to point it out to me.The restaurant is mostly a takeout with very little seating, i.e. 7 people inside, and when the weather is goo, about 5 people outside. The ambience is basic but, like most things in Switzerland, the interiors are very clean. Staff and service are very goo. The food here is awesome! Authentic Italian fare that is probably heavily influenced by Sicilian tradition since that is where the family is from. I used to visit almost every day because the food tastes great and the prices are so low for Zurich. I have tried almost everything: several pasta dishes, polpettine, stuffed bell peppers, meatloaf, piadina, and of course, the fabulously tasty and hot chilli infused EVOO. I enjoyed every dish I ordered. Great stuff! I strongly recommend the super-hot chilli infused EVOO as a seasoning for almost all dishes, but especially the pasta dishes that come in a cream sauce. Please be careful with chilli EVOO: 0.5 tbsp. for noobs, and a max. of 2 tbsp. for those who like it hot. The chilli EVOO, when used appropriately, adds great flavour to your dish. The piadina is the best I have eaten - period. I have been all over the world, spent a lot of time in Italy and New York (: great place for Italian food lovers :), and I still think this is the best piadina ever. They also serve some nice Italian desserts -- I've tried a few but have forgotten the names. They also have a small selection of Italian ingredients for sale. I bought the pesto and was happy with it. You also get a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic Italian drinks to go with the food.Prices are relatively low by Zurich standards: I rarely ever ate for more than CHF 15, and if I skipped the drinks it was usually around CHF 10. Of course, this varies a bit according to what you order.Highly recommended. Glad I found this place. Great for office workers in the vicinity."
