"Service from the female owner was very friendly. But overall disappointed with the food. Its obviously very popular with Chinese customers so not sure what went wrong. But generally found the food rather tasteless. The paneer in one the specials was also horribly wobbly. Quite probably it supposed to be like that in chinese cooking but I am used to eating it crisped in Indian, which is lovely. I think on balance this may now be the best option for Chinese food in Cambridge. Sadly Hakka has closed. Totally different kind of restaurant of course, but it was totally sublime. The best Chinese food I recall I have ever eaten."

FOOD: For the beat experience at Yim Wah, order a bunch of smaller dishes to share with a group of people.

I've been to Yim Wah many times The service has always been great, the atmosphere ideal, and the food beyond delightful.

The best Chinese food I've had in a very long time. We had a set menu. Even the vegetable side dish was tasty. Friendly staff. View menu

Good Chinese food. We had Cantonese food with some dim sum. Quite authentic and reasonable delicious. Expensive but going out in the UK is generally expensive.

Very nice Chinese place (full of Asian people). Just a bit noisy (when overcrowded) but really nice. You can test various menu for 27-28 (for much food). Chinese-style vegetables are TOP! Good choiche of beers. Staff is very kind. Good experience View menu

Used to be our favourite Chinese restaurant in Cambridge but haven't been for a while ; this was our first post Covid visit. We ordered our favourite dishes and they were very different, which would have been OK if they'd tasted OK but they were sadly not very good. Not only were portions smaller but the ratio of main ingredients to something that resembled gloop was poor. Flavours were different quite salty and harder to detect the expected tastes of ginger/garlic etc. Maybe it was an off day in the kitchen but I'm hesitant to go back.

OK... The 'express ' in the restaurant name should probably be taken with a pinch of salt, and the ambience was more loud and chaotic than warm and cosy but...... THE FOOD.... my my, the food at the Yim Wah ranks amongst the best Asian cuisine we have ever tasted. That includes top end restaurants in Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong and Singapore. The Yim Wah is a bustling busy cauldron of deliciousness and if you ever find yourself within striking distance........ Go. Just treat yourself to one of the finest, freshest most delicious Chinese meals you will ever experience.

"added dropwise for a pizza on the afternoon without reservation, and we were warmly welcomed and set immediately. the smell of reifer tomatensauce and gooey mozzarella in the stone oven under fire baked was an salutation to the sinnen. the restaurant was filled with a pleasant humor of talking and laughing, the sound of the teigs chopped in the kitchen, and the familiar sound of tellers and cutlery picked up and put down again - all with weak Italian music plays in the background. the ambiente was a tasteful hauch of seafoam blue on the wooden wall panels and equipped with sturdy furniture with red chili oils, salt and peppers and various types of fresh crimp on each table. a table can have salvia, another basilikum, the next coriander. a charming, subtler node to the l 'arte d 'arrangiarsi the art of making something from nothing of pizza. the menu was easy and easy to navigate, nothing to slandered level and nothing too adventurous. we ordered a pesto pizza and we asked for extra tomato sauce to which our server would be happy insured. after many times we came to our table customers and sleeps! the pesto had a tasteful taste and was pleasant tangy, the tomato sauce was juicy and not quite watery, and the mozzarella was evenly distributed and reached every end of the teigs. the best part, however, was the thick, soft resistance of the crust - not even the least incineration, but just at the right time pulled out of that. a 1 x 1 ' ft perfectly presented pizza. the, with two fizzy drinks, for less than 20 £. will return for the same, but with the intention to add a little red wine."
