"We picked this restaurant because of the reviews on here, and upon receiving a reply to my request to reserve a table I knew we were heading somewhere that was going to be different. The clientele were an interesting mix of people which I liked and you get the feeling everyone is welcome here and airs and graces are not permitted. We did struggle a little with the menu as some of the specials were not available so we explained what my husband would like and asked if they could do something like it, which they very kindly did. I had one of the pizza's that's not really a pizza but very similar and very good, but my favourite thing here was all the mead. Luckily they do offer small cups so I got to try quite a few of them and I can't say there was one I didn't like :) The only problem they have here is that there were only 2 people working |(and although they were both great and really helpful) by the time we left the place was heaving so it started to get a bit difficult to get served."

Good food and drink but very rude and clumsy waitress completely ruined the atmosphere. She spilled drink all over us, and insulted us on basis of nationality because she considered tip too small.

i've been there a couple of times and i loved the decor and the medieval theme. The beer they served was terrible, but i liked the honey beer. Overall it's a nice place to hangout with friends in the Altstadt.

Regensburg is one of the most beautiful ancient cities I have ever seen. In a 11th century building you can find this historical restaurant. The food is wonderful alongside with many kinds of beer, mead and wine. Staff very kind and the 'old man' can't stop talking about his city and its surroundings.

We went to this restaurant because it is a favorite wiith my daughter and friends who are studying in Regensburg. It is in a sort of basement and certainly has that authentic medieval feel. Beams, heavy benches with sheepskin to sit on and a non-standard crowd. The flatbread was wonderful and the chicken and mushroom spaetzl was delicious! Not expensive, great food, friendly waitresses/barmaids, a unique experience.....go for it!

If you're not so much into main stream cafés, make sure you visit this one. The ambiance is wonderful, there's so much history in this building that they've managed to keep alive. It fits perfectly amongst the other old buildings in Regensburg. The waiter was very nice and helpful. He gave us some awesome tips, not only about the beer and food, but also about tourism in the area. Also, they serve the best ribs in town here, they were perfect!

This place is absolutely amazing. As an exchange student my friends and I would go weekly. The met (mead) is amazing and there are so many different varieties. The food is great, my favourite were the Flammkuchen (pretty much pizzas). The staff are humorous and great hosts - we always had Johannes. The staff wear great clothes in theme with the place and we were always made to feel welcome. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Regensburg. A hidden gem.

This is the perfect place for thse who like the middle age stories , the cellar is filled with old furniture and old decorative objects . The food is good and focuses on Flammkuchen and Med but not only that.I kind of miss an English menu they used to have it but the waiters speak also English. The service is quite fast and the waitersesse that i met earned their tips with customer friendly -I would reccomand it to friend groups but also to couples who like cellar-like restaurants instead of fancy white table clothes

The restaurant area is down a few steps and very cellar-like, with large wooden tables and benches with fur covers. At night the dimly lit tables give it a very medieval feel. We did not eat there, but in the open alcove; having flat bread style "pizzas", crispy shells generously smothered with speck, onions, various cheeses or vegetable and mushroom. The spatzel is dangerously rich and cheesy, topped with crispy fried onion, a serving I could not finish alone. We had the litre of "Fest bier" , served in a ceramic pitcher and large ceramic cups, keeping the bier cool. It was relaxing and unhurried. This establishment is not large, just large enough to feel cozy and welcoming.

someone recommended this restaurant and I took our whole group there. not easy to find, rather hidden deep in the inside courtyard, without sign easily visible outside (there is one inside the arcade.) they have an open escaping area outside and inside. A...small medieval them, not bad. everything else is modern. our group had a lot of meal times; our ribs were simply excellent and plentiful, with a wonderful sauce, salad and brot (baked there.) the dish with sausages was also delicious. Mostly, however, they have the flaky cake, a kind of flat pizza with a series of a little strange crumble. not everyone liked them. they played a medieval music in the background; bathrooms have medieval nam...
