"Went there for our meal tonight the quality of the food you cannot fault, however the portion sizes are minimal. I’m not a big eater by any means but had I not asked for more chips I would have gone home hungry. Haven’t been here for many years and by all accounts it will be a long time before I re visit. However the current owner has the premises up for sale due to retirement whether it remains as a hotel once sold who knows. I feel it is over priced for what you get about 6.75 for a starter 14.95 for haddock you goujon’s and 6.75 for a sweet. The chips came in a small dish for my wife and I which I could have eaten myself !!! It may look a lot but believe me it’s not."

"As i am working in the area for 3 months i always stay in a premier inn with a brewers fayre . As i eat in this place 5 to 6 times a week i find the menu covers a great variety of foods . The food has always been well cooked and fresh . the staff are so helpful and friendly and very well trained in all aspects of the food and drink trade . I would gladly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great place to eat with warm and friendly staff to meet and greet you .i would gladly stay and eat here anytime again"

"This was our third visit to this location, but our first time dining in the restaurant. The restaurant was busy when we arrived, which is always a good sign, but we were seated promptly. To our surprise, a friendly staff member approached us and inquired if we were unsatisfied with our table, as a fellow diner had mistakenly reported this. We reassured the staff member that we were content with our table, but we were impressed by the attention to detail and customer service. We had a pleasant interaction with the staff before enjoying a delicious and well-prepared snack lunch served by efficient, friendly, and attentive staff. After our meal, we browsed the shop and found the staff to be very helpful as we made several small purchases. Overall, it was a fantastic retail and dining experience, made even better by the lovely staff."

"I would recommend not choosing the carvery at this restaurant. I was extremely disappointed, especially since I was looking forward to it. The Roast Beef was so tough that I couldn't even cut it with a knife, and they had run out of mashed and roast potatoes. We had to wait for a long time for our plates to be served with meat, and by the time the potatoes arrived, my food had already gone cold. The vegetables were only lukewarm, the stuffing was like rubber, and we didn't receive the extras we had paid for. The person serving at the carvery seemed overwhelmed and unhelpful. After being seated, we waited 20 minutes for someone to take our drinks order. We did complain and were given a 20% discount on our bill, which didn't make up for the fact that we couldn't even eat half of our meal due to its poor quality. However, I must mention that the server who took our complaint was very kind and handled the situation well. Despite the issues we faced, she was cheerful and dealt with our complaints professionally. I would suggest finding another restaurant for your Sunday lunch."

"My husband had a coffee and a Maltese tray bake. I had a hot chocolate and a lovely apple n cinnamon scone, my sister also had a hot chocolate and a coconut tray bake. We all really enjoyed our cakes and the staff are really welcoming and very helpful. It a lovely café and we will definitely be back the next time we come to Peterhead. Meal type: Other"

"I've got one out of my mind last week. it took about 15-20 minutes to be ready when I phoned in the order, which is well considering that it was a Saturday night. a little thing was that the hand-anitary appeared on the doorway. to be empty, so it would be a good idea if they could replace it with a new bottle for customers to use when they are in the building. I went for the chicken bhuna that was delicious. we also had rice and naan, which were also delicious. the woman had praised vindaloo and she said it was very nice. the portion sizes were good, and the huh seemed really fresh. the bill came to £20.40 for two people, the good value for money. they do not accept credit card payments only so remember to take cash with them when they collect. I had only £20 on me so that the staff left me with the 40p that was kind of. overall I would rate this place 10/10, and I will definitely be back soon."

"we live in a beautiful village, gardenstown at banff in Scotland. we went to banff and searched for fish and chips. I had seen the lighthouse fish store at an earlier visit. we ordered large fish and chips and a part of sampi, £14.50 it advertises...a food in the facility. we had a look and the one seat was used by employees/family for their meal times, so we brought them back to the car to eat them. do not get their fish and chips from here! suspicious hygiene and not inviting. eating was best edible, but nothing else. I wouldn't see."

"My husband and I visited here for lunch while passing through the area. It was a later lunch and it was very quiet due to local holidays however still had a nice welcoming homely atmosphere. Friendly chatty staff with good knowledge of the menu, great food choices and great prices with prompt table service. Best burger and best baguette we have had in a LONG time, really good hearty home cooked food, was delicious! Cooked to perfection and nice portion sizes. Clean, tastefully decorated and nice spaces between tables, great if you had a pushchair or mobility aid, we also noticed it is dog friendly with a bowl of water and dog biscuits provided for the four legged diners. Great wee eatery with fantastic food and welcoming service. Will definitely visit again."

"We had a take away from Yan's this evening we were so disappointed with both meals. I had the Lemon Chicken it was so salty bits of the chicken were tough. Other meal was number 219 prawns with mushrooms he thought so much more onions than prawns tasteless. I am sorry to have to write this review but this was supposed to be a treat it certainly was not."

"Stayed here this week. The staff are all friendly and helpful. Susan the owner showed us to the room and told us everything we needed to know to settle in. Its an old building with lots of character features. The room and bed was comfortable and had everything we needed. Breakfast was good, lots of choice served freshly prepared to your table with care and speed. Dinner in the restaurant was very good. Lots of local ingredients. Lots of choice. Helpful and motivated staff. The food was well cooked and presented and very enjoyable and exceeded my expectations. We tried several items during the stay and the black pudding bon bons, the monk fish scampi, the Cullen skink and chicken linguinie were all deliciousI would definitely stay and eat here again. Well done Cameron and Susan. The other recent review that says avoid at all costs can't be trusted in anyway in my experience."

"We arrived for lunch at 12pm and found that the small restaurant was full with no available seats. Instead of dining in, we opted for takeout. Despite the limited number of tables, the place seemed to be struggling with service. Several tables were occupied, and we noticed two couples who arrived after us were left waiting with menus for the entire 30 minutes we were there. The waitress appeared unsure of what to do, and the overall service seemed disorganized. It seems like there may be new ownership, but there is a need for better training or more staff to improve the situation. However, the food itself was delicious, and we hope that on our next visit, the restaurant has improved its organizational skills."

"had a booking of tonight for a meal with local motorcycle group. Despite the people who appear at different times (facebook meet time problem with the ears back), the personal was fantastic to make sure that we have something to eat before us, the drinks flow left, and in the position to adapt tables to the late arrival. the food was delicious, cooked to order and beautifully presented. a mixture of appetizers, rice and broth on the table did not mean annoying in the order for a large group. the most important courses were not disappointed. fresh and delicate meat, prepared for perfection and with taste break out. also the vegetarian at the table were satisfied with their offered options and directed. all this in a beautiful art deco situation for a great night made with friends, with impeccable service by raj and his team. highly recommended."

"We recently had one of the best meals in years at this restaurant. As a family of four, we ordered three different steaks and a large portion of fish and chips, and each dish was cooked perfectly. The chips were the best we've had in a long time. Our starters were delicious, including a rich pate, creamy burrata, and tasty beetroot falafel. The wine selection was excellent and reasonably priced. The restaurant is located in the lovely town of Ballater and is a great place to treat yourselves after a day of exploring the hills. The staff were polite and welcoming, making our evening enjoyable.Overall, a fantastic dining experience that I highly recommend."

"The restaurant at this hotel fell short of expectations given its price and 4-star rating. While the location was great and the room size was good (including a gymnasium suite with sauna), there were some drawbacks. The service was friendly, but there were many strange rules and additional charges. The restaurant did not live up to the high-class pictures on the website, and prices were inflated (e.g. £2.50 for a glass of soda water). The room felt slightly disheveled, with stains on the bathroom curtain, a floating bedside table that had come off the wall, and a broken board on the outside decking. The room layout was odd, as it had been previously used as a gym, with a huge mirror wall, an old fire exit sign covered by cardboard, and furniture blocking the sliding doors to the deck. Additionally, the private hot tub was not very private, as it was located on a deck shared with downstairs rooms and overlooked by upstairs rooms."

"Hi Garioch chip shop have good supper. We have twice put in for deliveries once with just eat and today through their own website. With just eat we had a three hour wait although it was an hour wait delivery when we put in ordered. Called and eventually received delivery after 9pm. Thought we would try ordering for delivery through their site. Ordered around 5pm for order to arrive 6.15pm eventually called shop at 6.45 to ask where order was to be told it was put for delivery so would arrive soon. Called again around 8pm saying order still not arrived eventually delivered after 8.30pm was warm so obviously just cooked. Will not order again for deliver and think garioch chip shop should stop offering this as it obviously doest work. Just phone and collect."

"After a visit to the gallery at the Milton I went with friends and family to the Milton Brasserie for a coffee. It was drizzling outside and we wanted a warm friendly place to chat before heading home in different directions. Unfortunately we found the opposite the waitresses looked really fed up, there was no atmosphere at all, the Maître d' barely lifted her head when we arrived and turned her back on us when we left. But the worst thing was that the coffee was the worst I've ever had. Not to moan too much but how is it possible to make such awful,bitter coffee with such a beautiful Italian coffee machine. I doubt I'll be back, shame as the place looks lovely from the outside."

"brings me back to my childhood when wimpy was everywhere and was a nice tasty to try it again. the food was fresh and delicious. slightly more expensive than comparable almost food restaurants, but better quality than those worth paying extra. the young staff was friendly and attentive and the restaurant was kept especially with the number of customers in and out extremely clean and tidy. not often in these days that I comment on really good service/hospitality skills, but this team should be really proud of itself. will definitely be back and recommend if they are in the opposite."

"I recently discovered the Redgarth, a fantastic restaurant run by Stuart and his team. From the moment you arrive, Stuart ensures that your experience is top-notch. The Cherry room I stayed in was immaculately clean and had great amenities, including a "loo with a view," a luxurious shower and bathroom, a comfortable bed, and daily housekeeping. The continental breakfast was delicious and the evening atmosphere in the bar was pleasant. I highly recommend this place for anyone in the area - 5 stars to Stuart and his team!"
