"Bit of a dream. Wonderful decor, excellent wine list, utterly sensational beef ragu with pappardelle, friendly staff, all of whom are (literally) invested in the restaurant. Went for lunch, but suspect it would be as good if not better for dinner. Menu is short, well put together, and convincing. Cakes and bread in the window. The obvious place to go for lunch in Arundel, and a new star in the area: knocks The Pig well off its pedestal, and even threatens the Parson's Table."

"Went in and was reluctantly greeted by a swarthy bloke who couldn't even muster a smile. Ordered two breakfasts (at the counter) and then had to wait minutes. Very loud lowest-grade chart music blared out of the speakers throughout, some tracks playing on repeat....It becomes an endurance test of how much you can bear it. Twenty five long minutes later after our drinks had gone cold the breakfasts turned up. My order was missing the hash brown I asked for so I had to go back to the counter and ask for it. No cutlery, sauces, S+P or napkins were offered with the food or on the tables so back to the counter to get them. After waiting another five minutes for the hash brown I went back the counter *again* and had to ask for one, they'd forgotten already and I watched another swarthy bloke in the kitchen pick one up with his bare hands and put in on a greasy plate and handed it over without even a sorry about that'. After all that the breakfast was sub-par, edible but nothing special. We left without them even acknowledging us. You have to pay at the counter before the food is even severed. Had we paid after we finished like a normal place, I would have asked for a refund. Save your money, go to the Clockhouse Café in Bognor instead. It's cheaper, much better breakfast and the staff are efficient and friendly. Avoid this place."

"We went in here for the first time for lunch yesterday. We had read lots of fantastic reviews, so we were really looking forward to it. We were seen to by Emily who was very lovely, polite friendly. The cafe looked very clean. I had the Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon the eggs were poached perfectly! My Dad had the veggie breakfast. Both meals were presented beautifully, everything was fresh cooked perfectly! It was absolutely delicious we both cleared our plates. The sweet treats we had were very good too a blueberry and lemon one a Rocky Road. Everything was very good portions reasonably priced. Will very happily return will recommend to others also! "This is the first time I have visited this little cafe and will certainly put it on my list of places to go for a superb breakfast. Atmosphere was great. Wendy our server was friendly and helpful. I had the Pancake breakfast. 2 lovely crepes (not American pancakes) with maple syrup, a sausage, 2 fried eggs , bacon and a hash brown. Also ,had to be done , a side of black pudding. Was DELISH and the eggs were perfect. The price was what you would expect to pay for a breakfast. My husband and friend had a Partners special which was a mighty breakfast indeed. Looking at the menu think I'll need to give this place a try for lunch one day. If you are the local give this little cafe a go. I'm sure you will love it too"

"Funny how you don't notice the best things when their under your nose. Pie makers from Bognor since 1933 and winners at the UK's acclaimed Melton Mowbury annual pie competition, suppliers to Harrods as a fine food. Overheard two people in the Chichester Sunday market...across the street from Turners, talking about going to TURNERS to the get the weekly treat Walked by their shop in Chichester hundreds of times and never went in. £10.00 for a family pie seemed a bit pricey to me ... So I bit the bullet and finally the pie, Chicken Bacon for almost a tenner .. Took it home for the family, not daring to mention the price or suppler for fear of condemnation. We started with a 1/12th slice cold with cold new potatoes drizzled with salad cream. After the 3rd 1/12th slice the four of us had eaten the lot in half an hour. Well the rest is now going to be history. A new pie every Sunday from Turner's for Sunday supper.... or as it Turners out today ordered 3 meat and 3 fruit family pies for next weeks family BBQ and you can bet you life I wont be missing out with at least a 1/12th slice off each before the family gannets devour some of the most delicious pies I have ever eaten and at 67 I've eaten more pies and pie ploughman lunches all over England than you can imagine. So start your own Turner Pie obession and become addicted by buying one today. Happy eating the old fashioned way......."

"Appalling customer service and a total lack of respect for the customers! I phoned G&G 13.20 to ensure they were open and still serving food. I was categorically told that if I placed my order by 13.45 we would be served. We arrived approximately 5 minutes later to be told the kitchen had closed. There was no shortage of food or staff, I made the point that I had been promised to be served but no explanation was given. I asked to speak to the manager who, again, couldn’t explain why they had broken their commitment to me. I asked what was the problem/constraint? The ‘manager’ merely said “ there is no need to be rude “ . I asked to clarify how she could accuse me of being rude? She couldn’t think of anything to say apart from “the kitchen is closed”. I said I was very dissatisfied and would reflect this in a review, they were not bothered and said that it wouldn’t impact them as they had been doing ok for the last 5 years. Absolutely appalling and disgraceful in my opinion. I actively search out small local businesses and try to support them, this establishment deserves no support whatsoever. It is interesting that the staff were prepared to spend more time arguing with me than it would have taken them to make us a sandwich! BTW the noticeboard stated closing 3 o’clock. A beautiful sunny bank holiday with many potential customers, why not stop serving early and go home! A strange business model!!! We went to Bluebird café and had great food with fantastic customer service despite the significant number of customers."

"Big Thank you to Tea in the Square!!!! Due to covid the wake we had organised for after my Dads funeral was cancelled very last minute. I phoned the lovely Helen at tea in the square and explained our predicament and they couldn't of been more helpful. Even though Monday was their day off they put together a beautiful afternoon tea and delivered it. After what has been a very testing, emotional and exhausting time, their hospitality was wonderfully welcome. Thank you Ladies! From the Ayre Family"

"What a wonder restaurant. Made very special by the lovely Italian lady who was our waitress. She loves the restaurant and her enthusiasm was contagious. The food was the best we have had in a long time. Everything was delicious. WE would recommend this place to anyone and wish that we lived closer so that we could take friends. The decor and music was also special and very laid back. Actually might make an overnight stay in Arundel just so that we can enjoy the food and wine fully without having to drive home it was that good!!!!"

"The Thatched House Pub in Felpham, under the new management of Landlady Stella and Chef Ross, has made a delightful comeback. I recommend their flavorful Thai Red curry and commend the homemade minted lamb and halloumi burger, served with finesse alongside a rocket salad, Greek yogurt, and a red onion chutney. Stella’s attentive and friendly service, coupled with a commendable beer selection including Harvey’s Sussex Best and Dark Star Hophead, enhances the overall experience. Despite occasional noise in this bustling pub with wooden floors, the vibrant atmosphere doesn’t overshadow the enjoyment. I look forward to becoming a regular visitor and returning soon."

"I had an amazing Sunday lunch at this restaurant. The set meal was a great deal and the food was delicious. The service was excellent as well. I highly recommend the sardines as a starter and the beef for the main course. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience. Lunch costed around £30-40 per person. Food quality and service both received a rating of 5, while the atmosphere was rated at 4. I would definitely recommend this place for a delicious meal."

"We had a lovely day at Pagham beach and were looking for somewhere for dinner. We stumbled across Mamma Mia and the menu looked great and had a good selection of vegetarian options. They do small portions of everything on the menu for children which pleased my little hungry pizza and pasta monsters. I had the cannelloni which was perfection! My son was excited to watch the chef prepare his meal in the kitchen too. Friendly staff, great authentic food, would definitely recommend. Vegetarian options: Lots of veggie options on the menu and I noticed an option for vegan cheese on the menu too for pizzas Kid-friendliness: All pizza and pasta dishes can be made in small portions for kids. The chef adapted the spaghetti carbonara to take out the bacon and add mushrooms, so they are very accommodating. "Food can be great if you can get past the very poor front of counter customer service. I have been a regular over many years, good chef and kitchen/waiting team, but I returned recently after a long time not going and had really bad experience. Woman on till, apparently the manager, made me feel extremely uncomfortable on serving us, as if she didn't want us there, then we waited so long for food(quick sandwich light lunch order) that we ran out if time to eat and had to cancel and leave refunded. So we ended up not eating anything and leaving with our money back. It would've been £25 for a lunch snack we would have rushed. We couldn't justify that. All very peculiar, I'm a familiar face there but was so snubbed. Imfact we took it quite personally and on principle had to get out. Its a real pity because the menu and variety and quality from the kitchen team is so good. I would not want to return and have to face the counter woman again. And I was warned beforehand that the management had changed and the service had dropped, so that was proved to be very accurate feedback. Perhaps a Customer Service course is required by the head of the team. Feedback is so important for the people behind the scene as well. Price per person: £20–30 Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1"

"This quaint restaurant will not disappoint. We went on prime time on a weekend and staff were very friendly, welcoming and attentive. The table service was excellent. "This was our 2nd visit for Sunday Roast meal. Our 1st visit about 6 weeks back and was absolutely lovely. As first visit really enjoyed thought let's go again. Sadly our 2nd visit wasn't the same meat was fine, sadly the rest of the veg wasn't as nice carrots seemed no taste, cauliflower still quite hard, both boilt and Roast potatoes not much taste either. Will try again soon, as know depends when have a small place as worked in pubs myself in the past, Depends on stock from suppliers given and also sometimes different staff at times and have different ways how prepare and cook."

"Went for a very special occasion and Ben (front of house) was absolutely outstanding from the second we arrived. It was my parents 60th wedding anniversary and both said that Ben made the whole experience, he’s such an asset to this fabulous little restaurant. We tried a mocktail (secret garden) and the chilli margarita, both delicious. And all courses were beautifully presented and delicious. Couldn’t fault a single thing. All sauces were some of the best we’ve had anywhere, Chef clearly knows what he’s doing! Highly recommend and good value given the quality and quantity of the food, topped off by wonderful service. Thanks for making our special lunch all the more special!"

"We were recomended by our son, We were down for the new year .We were greeted by a delightful young lady named Gracie .she was a most attentive waitress,perfect service . The choice on the menu was excellent ,food presentation and quality was superb.Despite me hardly ever having a desert I couldnt resist my favourite Tarte tatin.YUM!!!!!!!. A varied selection of wine to choose from .Reasonably priced. Decor very tasteful,Sort of shabby chic .Despite getting lost we most certainly will return.Cant wait to try the sunday lunch.We live in Essex but have a house at Middleton,so cant wait for our next visit .There is only one thing that wasnt great that was the lack of lighting and the pot holes on the way to the car park. Ok when you arrived at the car park a light came on and the surface was great. Just the bit inbetween.Thanks Guys for a lovely evening.Good food Good wine Good service what more could you want."

"I visited here with my family 12 of us. The cafe is in a lovely setting by the river with great decor, the food is delicious and the staff are very friendly and helpful. There are a few things that would make it even...better- the queuing to order is very slow. This could be improved by having drinks brought over to you rather than waiting at the time of order or having a separate queue and till for drinks and cakes. The management need to review this as during peak periods you have to wait a long time to be served. I believe the menu is going to be reviewed shortly but more vegan options should be added as only one is currently available on the menu. I tried to book a table as we were a large party but was advised that bookings are not taken so we has to wait 30 mins to get a table to sit together. It would be helpful to have a policy of groups over 6 people can book or similar to avoid this situation, especially when there are young children and older people in your party. Lastly a water cooler should be provided so that you don't have to queue up for this and people are able to help themselves to water."

"The food is really good and portions are large, especially dessert portions. Burgers are really nice course ground patties, rather than finely ground, so nicer coarse texture that I prefer. Some unusual choices on the menu which were successful too, such as lamb tacos. These worked well but were slightly smaller portions. Could have probably eaten 3 instead of 2. But desserts afterwards could all have served two people. Pavlova the size of a dinner plate and really rich chocolate brownies that were great but we struggled to finish. Service was really attentive and genuinely friendly. We were going to eat outside as they were full inside but a double booking meant we were moved and it was no trouble to them. Really nice atmosphere inside. Garden is OK but the wood chip on the ground could do with a refresh. There was nowhere to park within 400yds of the pub, but was worth the walk from roadside parking. Findon seems incredibly busy for parking. Something to bear if you have someone infirm with you. But really enjoyed our meal and left feeling it was pretty good value and that we'd had a very nice time."

"This was our second time visiting the Portuguese grill. Despite the dull and sad exterior, upon entering, we were greeted with a welcoming and lively atmosphere. Even before placing our order, we enjoyed a cup of tea and some delicious sponge cakes, while drooling over the rest of the menu. We plan on returning, even making the trip from Brighton. The staff, including the younger employees, were wonderful and friendly. The restaurant also encourages interaction among customers, even those who are strangers. Despite the grey day outside, we left feeling a warm glow inside from our visit."
