"if they are in the arundel area, they want an authentic Gastro-Pub with good food, great service and cultivated natives, this is the place. this is a real pub with culture and inherit. not something that can be felt by the last of the marketing of people or branding junkies. eating is very nice made ny a person who obviously knows how to cook. it is not a fusion madness and trendy, simply good and intelligent food. the employees here are people who know more about the restaurant trade and are not the untrained students who would get a chain. the decor fits into the beautiful tiny village that is burpham. if you want to see the best in a real village in English, this is the place to go. only with the car in the restaurant along the small road to the village will give them a good feeling and the restaurant lives there. as someone who comes into the opposite or not, I like to come here and it remains what I always liked. while eating is quite high, like people, but the prices remain good for what it is. one of my favorite places in the opposite."

This was just fabulous! We will be dreaming of the sticky toffee pudding and the baked cheese cake for a long long time.

Lovely welcoming pub in beautiful location. Lunch there today was absolutely delicious. Great menu. Portion sizes perfect. Can't wait to visit again.

Very appealing looking place, which was heaving outside on a cold winters day (including Morris dancing) and I feared we'd made a poor choice, but upon entering it was calm, friendly, cosy and welcoming. Staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and chatty without being too informal. Would happily return.

Strange reviews this pub is very busy and very popular, especially with walkers. The village is the kind of place overseas visitors imagine an English village to be, and it is a bit Disney, however it can be forgiven as the pub is fine. Best to park and walk along to river, across the railway to North Stoke, which has an ancient, cold church and air of medieval lonliness about it.

Just come back from having dinner and still in a daze about the excellence of both the food the service! Admittedly It was a quiet week day... But every thing was good. Two of us had the venison cannelloni which was outstanding as was the sea bream with herb crust. And the sticky Toffee pudding with ginger ice cream was best ever! The assistant manager was on her own but she couldn't have been more pleasant or friendly. We're thinking of going back on Sunday if we can get in!

this is a very popular pub for hikers. it was just to crawl with them when we stopped. we arrived at the end of the lunch break and did not have the opportunity to taste the food, although it looked decent. the personal was friendly, but they were in the middle of the cleansing and closing, and their reception machine did not work, so the bar was quite disorganized and it took a because to operate. was pretty nice to have some pints in the sun outside on a quiet road. they would have visited again.

A very pleasant surprise. We booked for our anniversary on the strength of two recommendations on Facebook and we were most definitely not disappointed. The pub is in one of the prettiest chocolate box villages I have ever seen, and the setting with the sun yes, it came out! getting low, was idyllic. Greeted with a smile as soon as we walked in, the staff were organised, efficient, professional and friendly, and very Covid aware. The food came quickly, was presented beautifully, and tasted delicious. We had a very good bottle of Chilean red to accompany our various dishes. The desserts did themselves justice too. Will definitely return and recommend strongly.
