"I visited here with my family 12 of us. The cafe is in a lovely setting by the river with great decor, the food is delicious and the staff are very friendly and helpful. There are a few things that would make it even...better- the queuing to order is very slow. This could be improved by having drinks brought over to you rather than waiting at the time of order or having a separate queue and till for drinks and cakes. The management need to review this as during peak periods you have to wait a long time to be served. I believe the menu is going to be reviewed shortly but more vegan options should be added as only one is currently available on the menu. I tried to book a table as we were a large party but was advised that bookings are not taken so we has to wait 30 mins to get a table to sit together. It would be helpful to have a policy of groups over 6 people can book or similar to avoid this situation, especially when there are young children and older people in your party. Lastly a water cooler should be provided so that you don't have to queue up for this and people are able to help themselves to water."

Had the most amazing seafood salad, so tasty, fresh and generous portion. A tad expensive but worth it. Been to Harbour Lights a few times and never disappointed.

I recommend visiting Harbour Light Cafe for a beautiful cup of coffee tomorrow. They offer a great selection of coffee and provide excellent service. The cafe also boasts a picturesque view of the harbour, making it a must-visit spot.

lunch in harbour lights today 09/05/2022 . eating was great. during the waiting period in the waiting queue everything they could hear was the kochtalish with gray bart screamed and sweared at the personal. the personal is friendly and obligated and does not deserve to be treated like that. the manager has to sort out this cook as it is not the first time! that's not good. beautiful location, but very subduing selection of eating. sought vegan breakfast, but no dedicated version available. there were vegan sausages with egg, I had been drilling on toast in the end-thin brown brot. I had only one mouth to discover him. was milk! They had luck that I am not lactose intolerant. for vegan customers with a little imagination, e.g. spinat, hummus, falafel etc. service good but.

We very impressed with the refurb, good selection on menu. My husband and I had the beer battered fish and chips which was lovely. Super presentation and such a lovely view. My daughter had the seafood box which she really enjoyed especially the aioli and...she told the waitress how lovely it was and before we left the chef came out with a takeaway box of it such a lovely touch! We will be back and probably try out the breakfast menu.

We were highly impressed by the renovated restaurant and the extensive menu selection. My partner and I tried the beer-battered fish and chips, which were delicious. The presentation was superb, and the view was stunning. My daughter enjoyed the seafood box, particularly the aioli, and even complimented the waitress on how beautiful it was. As we were leaving, the chef surprised us with a takeaway box and a lovely note. We will definitely be returning and will likely try the breakfast menu next time. View menu

We recently took a leisurely stroll along the promenade and the side of the tidal river on a beautiful sunny day in the middle of the week. When we reached the lifeboat station, we decided to stop for a drink. The Port Light Café was bustling with customers, both inside and outside at the tables. Despite the crowd, we were able to secure a table inside away from the wind by one of the large windows. I went to the busy counter to order our drinks, where the service from the hardworking ladies was quick and efficient. I ordered a hot chocolate and two Americanos with milk. Unfortunately, there was a long line for the toilets due to some customers leaving a mess in at least one of them.

We had taken a leisurely walk along the promenade and then down the side of the tidal river on a lovely sunny mid week morning recently. Just past the life boat station we stopped off for a cuppa. The Harbour lights cafe was doing a...roaring trade and all tables outside were taken as well as many of those inside. Nevertheless we bagged a table out of the wind inside by one of the large windows and I went to join the substantial queue to get our drinks. Service by the army of busy ladies behind the counter was quick and efficient. I ordered hot chocolate and two Americanos with milk. All good. Oh, by the way there was heavy traffic for the toilets unfortunately some customers had made a disg...

"Went with my partner who’d been here a good few years before and had fond memories of it. It’s changed! I was told on the phone it was advisable to book, I have no idea why as it was practically empty. We were pretty much ignored when we got there by an older woman behind the bar but hoped it would get better. The elderly woman on another table went off to find her own pepper so I should’ve known then. We ordered drinks and one pint of flat coke later we asked to send it back, I was told it was indeed real Coke by the sullen looking waitress wearing cycling shorts. She then admitted it wasn’t real Coke and did he want a bottle of that. We were waiting so long for our food that dirty glasses were accumulating on the table and at one point we put them up on the window sill. Then noticed a dirty big stain on the table cloth and a candle holder with old wax in but no candle left there on the table. We asked how much longer the food was going to be as we both had work in the morning and it turned upafter 60 minutes and I wish we’d have left 20 minutes earlier when we’d thought of doing so. When it came it was a shock to see the £27 sirloin steak. Over priced and average at best. We had to ask the waitress ‘can you please take all these dirty glasses while we eat?’ The meal was already ruined and our evening out spoiled not by the food but by the shoddy way we were treated from start to finish. Even the lemon had to be sent back! No juice, fell away from the skin into mush so god knows how long that’d been there. Apparently she needed to tell the chef but brought back more of the same. We had to quibble the bill afterwards as the pint of flat cola syrup sent back was still on there. The manageress or whatever her job title is should be embarrassed at how customers are treated but unfortunately it was obvious she didn’t care and no apology given and she treated us exactly the same. If o was on my own I wouldn’t have paid so they’re lucky we did. It was one thing after another. We came home feeling like we’d been taken advantage of and I wish I’d said more at the time. I don’t usually leave bad reviews, I chalk it up to experience and move on so you can imagine how bad it was. If you like fawlty towers you may enjoy this farce but we’ll put this down to one place we’ll never go back to and will NEVER recommend. Joke of a place. What a shame."
