"I Ordered after work and it took over an hour to receive. That was fine as I can look past that as I understand Friday night can be busy. However then we opened the order and they forgot a whole Main dish. When I called up to tell the restaurant there was no sympathy and no apology at all, just a “we will get the other main out to you on the drivers next run” when I ask how long his reply was “15-20mins”....... 35-40minutes later we get the forgotten main dish... thanks a lot. To top it all off the lamb dish I ordered was dry and the sauce was like apple sauce out of a baby food jar. Dont order from this place they have obviously don’t value customers Bit of advice to the takeaway. If you would have just said sorry i would have understood and looked past it. Not just put couple of poppadoms in the bad and think that makes it alright. Ignorant"

"The Restaurant was a great find. Went there as a party of 3 for my birthday lunch treat today. The lunch menu has limited number of dishes compared to the evening one but are very well balanced. I have never seen kadhi chaval and channa jor garam on a uk restaurant menu, so well done for being so original. The restaurant is located nearest carpark 2, so best to park there. The restaurant decor has many traditional Rajisthani puppets hanging high above the restaurant entrance, nice touch. We ordered 3 starters (Street food) which we shared, they had the correct balance of sweet, hot and sour tastes, although I did compliment mine with additional tamrind, chilli and coriander sauces. We ordered different versions of the Thali. This was impressive indeed. The variety of items, presentation, flavour, temperature and amount of food served in the thali (the circular stinless steel plate) was perfection itself. Every dish had its own traditional Rajisthani unique flavour, could not fault it. Thank you Sohan for your personal courtesy you showed us, the table you had reserved for us, my birthday wishes and for having created a truely great, clean, restaurant with a memorable menu. This was amongst the very best food I have ever had, a great birthday feast. It was a true gastronomic delight for my tastebuds. The restaurant is now firmly on my agenda, a great find indeed. "On a recent visit to The Coach and Horses, it just looked like a nice, unassuming traditional pub, but there’s SO MUCH more to this fantastic place. A bar that is so well stocked it seemed to have every type of drink known to mankind...and the staffs knowledge of EVERYTHING behind their bar and their food was amazing. Excellent, friendly service with a smile. Our dogs were made very welcome inside. Now to the food......and boy was it spectacular!!!... My husband had smoked haddock in a lip smacking creamy, mustardy sauce, sat on top of a big dollop of Mash and peas on the side. My husband said it was one of the most delicious and perfectly cooked fish dishes he’s enjoyed in years. I opted for the liver and bacon, which came with the same sized big dollop of creamy Mash, lashings of the most incredible real meat juices gravy and a beautiful selection of greens, beans and whole baby carrots. I literally could have lifted the plate and licked it at the end, had I not been eating out in public !!! WOW, what fantastic value for money, incredible produce and quality of food. The Coach and Horses really have knocked it out of the park with the BEST pub grub ever!!!"

"Booked for a party of 17 guests,to celebrate a friends retirement. Previously had pre-booked menu choices and paid £10 deposit. On arrival, was seated at 2 tables in an extremely packed restaurant.Drinks was taken promptly and we all settled in for a nice evening. The restaurant provided a good entertainer, which was pleasant and gave a good vibe. However, after about 1 and a half hours we was still waiting for our starters, wasn't able to purchase drinks at the bar and no table service for drink orders.Starters started arriving in 1 or 2's,with 3 being forgotten completely.Reminded staff several times even though the staff had a sheet with the pre-ordered food, the remaining starters took at least 10 minutes to arrive.By 9.45 pm we was still waiting for the tables to be cleared, our mains started to arrive at 9.50pm.The pizza and garlic bread, which had been pre-ordered had run out.An alternative was offered as a good will jester for the pizzas, however no alternative was given for the garlic bread. The evening was spoilt by a poorly run team,in disorganised chaos. It's a shame because this could of been really good, but to many flaws to recommend or to return."

"Had their frozen one tonight and wow that’s enough to put anyone off the famous dish for life. I seriously hope your not serving the same frozen stuff in your restaurants, if you did I’d throw it at you. Completely disgusting and a total discredit to the world famous dish. First of all the mash was lumpy then the sauce was just like stale p.ss. The pastry was passable and the filling was just salty and had no flavour. Seriously if your exporting this stuff do your country proud and don’t just serve sh.t"

"The food here is always spot on, if a dish doesn’t suit for some reason they are always happy to tweak it to your liking, many of the dishes are inspired by the owners family recipes, their tandoori chef is fab. The staff are a great bunch, always so helpful and friendly but the best part about this place is the owners. Adam and his wife are such fantastic people who do so much for others , both in the community and further afield. We first decided to try the restaurant because we’d seen some lovely things they had done for people during lockdown and felt we wanted to support a local business like that, the bonus for us was we found a restaurant that has now become a firm favourite and got to know some genuinely good people, In this day and age that’s a rare find."

"THE food here is really nice cannot fault it at all but the service and time we had to wait for it was ridiculous 5.30 table booked well in advance was seated until near on 6 due to table not being ready once was seated and finally had our order taken it took over an hour for it to arrive so not eating until gone 7 when booked at 5.30 is not really on!!! We then had dessert which was beautiful and paid for the bill as to which the waitress didn't give us our change back and just turned round and said oh did u want your change back? Which was rude in my opinion cause then she kicked us straight of the table as they had another booking!!! I would come back again to try but maybe not a Saturday as the gluten free menu was brilliant for my daughter and she loved it as the food was really nice but if this happened again I wouldn't return for the 3rd time so I advise don't come here if you are in a rush!!!"

"I have been coming to this restaurant for 5 years. The staff is wonderful and I enjoy the atmosphere. However, I was disappointed with the portion sizes when my partner and I paid over £100 for two starters, 2 main courses, and a £27.50 bottle of red wine. The food was still tasty, but the portions were very small. It felt more like fine dining than a casual pub meal. My partner was told he would have mushrooms with his dish, but he only got 1 mushroom. Overall, it was not worth the price we paid. We were in the bar area, not the restaurant."

"Dropped in for dinner after getting off the train and not feeling like cooking. So glad we did. Been here a few times but this place feels like it has got better and is cooking some of the best flavoured Turkish food I’ve had in the area. The chicken shish was incredible. It was moist beautifully spiced and the chilli sauce is just on the right side of spicy aromatic flavour to accompany. I’m a massive hummus kavurma fan and won’t have anything else to enjoy with their delicious bread. We had a delightful French Sauvignon and the restaurant was busy with all age groups and group sizes, definitely a sign you are doing something well when you attract such a mixed clientele. All in, a gorgeous 2 courses and a tasty bottle of wine for just over £70, such good value."

"We have frequented this restaurant over the year and keep giving them a chance to see if attitude changes. To be honest i used to go here years ago when i lived in the area it was fun, cheery and great place. Moving back to the area its like they have decided rudeness, and being abrupt is the right way. Most dishes are nice but dont bother ordering a nice wine thats when ordering off the list becomes near on abusive. Try to give us a wine that was half price of the wine of the list- this is against trade descriptions act. We eat out alot and never experience this abruptness. We spend over £100 each visit not even a complimentary drink is offered. Other venues in the area always offer. Not even thank you see you again. So this was a last chance see if its another off night. To be honest think they had their day time for new owners, a refresh of the venue and a happy atmosphere."

"I took my mum and dad to Prezzo's in Wickford last night for a family celebration for my mum's 80th birthday and her 60th wedding anniversary. The staff could not have been more friendly or accommodating. Mum and dad are advancing in years but the staff were so lovely to them and us, allowing us to have a cake with candles and they all sang happy birthday. I love the layout of this restaurant, it is open and relaxed with the tables a nice distance apart compared to other similar restaurants and yet it still has a buzz and warm vibe to it. One of my things about any restaurant is that you should always be greeted at the door no matter how busy it is. I go to this restaurant about once a month since it opened years ago and they always do this well. The food is always hot and nicely presented. We had a mixture of pasta pizza, burger and chicken and all were tasty. Sometimes I go to restaurants and staff just go through the motions, but in this restaurant they genuinely want you to enjoy your visit"

"Disgusting meal. Went for the Valentines menu. Had to wait over half an hour to be told there was no roast potatoes . So went for chips. Waited another 15 minutes until it finally arrived. What a disappointment!!!. The pastry was soaked in gravy and therefore was like wet cardboard and the steak was tough to cut. Sent it back and waited again for just a steak but in the meantime my husband had finished his. So the second steak came but it was well done and I had asked for it to be medium to well done and the chips looked like they had been sitting in the kitchen for ages. Vile meal . I complained and they took my meal off the bill. I spoke to the manager and she said the cook was unaware that the roast potatoes were not prepared by the day befores cook. As a manager surely that's her job to make sure that everything is prepared, especially as it's Valentines day. Won't be going back there in a hurry."

"Came here tonight for mine and my partners dinner. I'll get the bad out of the way first, while the shop is nice, their fish tank that's put on the wall is very very dirty, could do with a nice clean. There was a small blonde hair in my boyfriends rice, (we both have dark hair), and the roast chicken was very dry. For the highest rated Chinese in Basildon, I expected a little bit better Not for the goods. The rice, aside from the hair, was very nice, they didn't mess up any of my order and removed the prawns like I requested, the lady who took my order was kind and understanding, the wait wasn't long, and its cheaper then other Chineses in the area"

"Honestly, I don’t usually write reviews, but on this occasion I had to make an exception. I ordered their big breakfast and also the beef brisket hash and it was honestly the worst food I have ever had. It tasted like I was eating the contents of an ashtray where menthol cigarettes had been smoked. Not only were numerous components missing from the big breakfast that I paid extra for, but what was there was awful. The sausages tasted minty and the croquettes were god awful. The eggs, beans and additional bacon was missing and the bacon I did have looked like it was cooked on a radiator, never again, the worst breakfast I’ve ever had and I only managed to eat about a quarter of it. Just moved into the area and was excited to try Frankie and Benny’s as haven’t seen one in decades, what a mistake. I cannot emphasise this enough IT WAS HORRIBLE! AND LITERALLY TASTED LIKE THE DREGS OF AN ASHTRAY WITH SOME RANDOM MINT FLAVOUR THROWN IN, SORT IT OUT FFS."

"Went with friends and their family and we had a great time. The staff were very accommodating with allergies and fussy eaters, and the food was tasty. I had the new Calamari starter and it was excellent. The dipping sauce was very piquant and very well balanced. For the main course I had a burger with jack daniels sauce. Again, very good. The only criticism I might have is that the prices have really been ramped up. For a starter, main course and three beers, it came to £50. I know that prices have gone up, but the burger has gone up by around 50% in the past 18 months."

"This place started off well enough. The food was ok. I ordered the chicken phad-tai, which good enough. However, my meal was horribly interrupted by what I could only assume the owner or manager on duty yelling at a member of staff to the point where it brought obvious distress to the poor waitress. This racket continued for far too long and it reached the point where the waitress simply walked out. Even if the food was the finest in the country, I would never visit this place again for the blatant abuse towards staff, and hope whoever reads this shares the same morals as I do."

"The service and portion sizes at Honeypot are better than at the Five Bells! The staff is actually friendly and seems to enjoy their job. We used to go to the Five Bells, but the staff there are unfriendly and the portions are small. We always have to ask for a salad bowl. We will definitely continue to dine at Honeypot, we are very satisfied."
