"Greeted by huge smiles and welcomes from all the staff, service was like fine dining without all the poshness. Great value pastas were all £10 or under, very generous portions (we nearly didn't finish after sharing a tomato bruschetta and tuna carpaccio entrees). Had the seafood orrichiette in tomato, bean and chilli sauce and the linguine king prawns with olives and sundries tomatoes in napoletana sauce. All very good quality ingredients, authentic Italian cooking. Also can't not mention the yummy tiramisu (not too sweet- a great balance). A real gem of a restaurant MUST visit if you're in Bath!"

"new: we love this place so much, we come every time we are in bath, today no take! excellent service and simply amazing eating! they have no idea how to taste the tofu, but it is the best cunning tofu I have ever tasted! original: beautiful caffe. good seating in the sun with picturesque outside area. excellent food and service and beautiful unique drinks. ideal for vegans with adjustable menu! we were available for breakfast and have taken place immediately."

"the olive tree was fantastic. it's not cheap, but it was just worth every penny. the staff was very attentive to the needs of nutrition, and only in general attentive, polite and well maintained. the service was amazing, and it was clearly very important for the staff. They served us a wee less than a minute later than intended and could not have been more apologetic, even give us a little extra wee, and then a pointed (although deserved) at the end of the evening! the atmosphere was really nice. it managed to be cool and modern while still cozy and warm. the food was ineffective. the bets for us were the sommelier. he loved wein and his passion was infectious and it was more great wein! so well we have forgotten to ask for the names of those we really liked. oops!"

"The venue itself is beautiful. Really lovely pub as so many are in Bath. Unfortunately the reception we had from the girl on the bar downstairs was unfriendly, boarding on rude. Had to wait for our table which was 20 mins late, which I understand on a busy Sunday is often the case not easy to turn the tables. Roast dinners were okay, nice Yorkshire pudding which came regardless of what meat you ordered which is a nice touch. We ordered the extra potatoes at nearly £5 which was a little pricey. Out of 5 puddings, only 2 were available. Again they were fine but nothing more than that. For two people, both having two courses and a pint and a half of Pepsi each nearly £90 stung a bit."

"THE Most Authentic Italian Restaurant in Bath, period. The food is exquisitely made presented, tastes divine, and can be paired with true Italian wines, specifically imported to complete the authentic Italian dining experience. Menu selections include inspired dishes from the home country , presenting some unknown in the West , departing from generic spaghetti lasagne pizza to introduce restaurant guests to a few secrets mysteries of Italy and its most colourful and certainly delicious! cuisine. Contributing to the authenticity is the Italian management staff, who are all polite and bring an excellence professionalism of service, even with the occasional hesitancy in English which, in fact, only contributes to the suspension of disbelief that allows one to imagine they 've been transported to Italy, where every meal is a journey to yet another lesser known town otherwise famed amongst Italians for its succulent secrets... Over the past several years, I 've had the great pleasure to return to Ponte Vecchio a handful of times to enjoy a meal, each time a different dish. After my most recent dining excursion , I 'm pleased to have discovered there 's yet another refresh of the menu soon to come, which means more delights on my next major visit. Ponte Vecchio IS the quintessential destination for special occasion fine Italian dining in Bath, well suited for intimate group celebrations as well as important date nights , being close enough to Bath for convenience, yet removed just enough from the hustle bustle of the town centre. Its location by the weir adds to its romantic ambience, allowing for a lovely after dinner walk.. For the BEST, and most Authentic, Italian dining experience in Bath, make it Ponte Vecchio a trip to Italy is waiting to be had! Questi giorni quando vieni il belle sole.. Literally These days when comes 'when we get ' the beautiful sun.. ;"

"Took our seats at an empty table downstairs, to immediately be asked Are you eating? (No Hello or Welcome and implying that if we were not ordering food then we couldn 't sit at the table. After being given the menus, it took about 10 minutes for the server to return. Meanwhile, the atmosphere was extremely unpleasant and chaotic....continous noise from very loud clattering of crockery and the constant use of the coffee/espresso machine, plus lots of rushing around and staff talking loudly to eachother. When he did return, he made some sarcastic and strange reaction to my elderly mother ordering a cream team.....not sure why exactly he said something about it being Too early but that he 's Not judging . All very bizarre. A cheap and nasty brown sauce brand was placed on the table, together with a Heinz ketchup bottle that looked about 10 years old, that had been refilled with cheap and nasty ketchup (definitely not Heinz . The cream tea was very poor. A tiny scone, which had been overwarmed (microwaved? and took a while to cool down, was accompanied by a small dollop of cream and some of the cheapest nastiest jam I 've ever seen. The poached eggs dish with mushrooms, tomatoes and toast was reasonable, but the poached eggs were slightly overcooked. I 'd ordered extra bacon, which turned out to be turkey bacon (though this was not described at all on the menu, and nobody mentioned it . I also understand that the sausages are beef not pork, and again this is not mentioned anywhere. Coronation chicken sandwich was OK, but lacked a little salad garnish on the side which most other cafes typically provide. At no time were we asked whether the food was OK, and at no time even when paying the bill did anyone say Thankyou . This establishment has a lot to learn in customer service. But my overall impression is that they 're not aiming for repeat custom. They come across as nothing more than a tourist trap, maskerading behind the facade of a quaint and traditional tea shop/cafe in one of Bath 's tourist hotspots. Honesty and transparency about the non pork (and presumably Halal ingredients would go a long way.....why not just list it on the menu? Otherwise it just comes across as dishonest and hiding something. The cheap condiments and jams also seems like unnecessary cost cutting......and don 't pretend it 's a premium brand if it 's clearly not. Avoid. There are so many good options to eat in Bath and this is not one of them."

"The Lebanese food was excellent! My son, husband and I had mezzes toe start with then mains. All were interesting and tasty. My husband enjoyed the chicken salad with a delicious dressing, my son had the lamb burger and it filled him up and I had the lamb tagine dish with rice which was a real treat. The service was initially slow but when we explained that we had a concert to go to, I cannot fault it at all"

"On entering I waited at the bar for 5 minutes before anyone even acknowledged me. In fact, in the end I had to ask to be served. I asked them why I had been ignored and they said they were so busy. No excuse I’m afraid. Anyway, after that we were led to our table and the service was good thereafter. In fact the servers were lovely. So on to the food. My scallops looked nice but were uncooked. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t like them over cooked, just to be clear, but they were jellified in the middle, ie. Undercooked. I sent them back. My fiancés bone marrow starter was exceptional however. So on to Sunday roasts. We would give them 6/7 out of 10. The red cabbage was sickly sweet and the roast potatoes were under par. Not crispy enough. Why oh why do they stack them in a pile on top of each other in plastic trays in the kitchen which only serves to steam them and ruins their crispiness? This is such a bug bear of ours. Anyway, overall it was an okay meal in a nice pub. We would go back, but get a grip of the spuds please!"

"Dough is a pizzeria/restaurant run by Italians in the center of Bath. With many options for celiac, vegetarians and vegans, nobody will be disappointed; you can even choose the type of dough! They have white flour, whole wheat flour, corn flour… and the list goes on! During weekend it can get pretty busy, but even without a booking, they can find you a table in 10 minutes. The stuffed eggplant with tomato sauce was simply delicious, the sauce reminded me of the summers I spent with my brother at my grandma’s house, when after the beach, she was always making a simple pasta al sugo for lunch, with her tomato sauce that no one could ever match! If you are going to Dough you must try their pizza, period. The pizza parcel is filled with grilled zucchini, aubergines and vegetable cheese. The pizza dough is stone baked and crunchy at the ends and the melted cheese is to die for. Also, the prices are affordable and if you have a reusable bottle, they will refill it for you. Let’s hope they will open in London soon!"

"[edit] I have to go back, the pub itself has a lot of potential under new management! Wouldn't get water, coffee or tea with the driver. Not allowed to drink water without alcohol and said there was no room for them. I've never felt so uncomfortable in a pub, they were so terrible. It is also really expensive, this place is terrible."

"Myself and my partner visited in May for his birthday celebrations. Due to having children, we don’t manage to get out an awful lot, so after hearing some good things about Homewood, I decided to book it for his birthday meal. When I made the booking, I did pop a note on there to say it was a special occasion and we were really looking forward to it. When we arrived, we walked into the main entrance and approached the main reception area. No one was there, many members of staff just walked past us without even acknowledging us (I get people are busy but just a quick “I’ll be with you in a min!” Would have been great) we had a look around and couldn’t see anyone, there was someone serving on the bar in the room next to us but the bar was busy and we got no acknowledgement from them either. 15 minutes later, a lady came out and was quite abrupt, asking us what we were there for, we explained and then she lead us to a table in what I would say was the worst spot in the restaurant. There was an air con machine behind us blasting directly onto us and we were both freezing! We mentioned it 3 times to 3 different members of staff and they did eventually turn it down. The food was ok at a push, we were kept waiting a long time before they took our order and the food then took a very long while to come out. Drinks were forgotten and it was just not the experience we were hoping for. We had planned to do 3 courses but ended up doing 2 and then paying/leaving. Really quite disappointed with the service."

"The sun was shining over the outdoor tables here and me and my partner thought this place looked like the ideal spot to enjoy the sun and a drink. My partner went to ask for the menu and was told that the place was fully booked so we couldn't order, despite the empty tables and request for only an aperitif.Meanwhile I was approached by another member of the waiting team and was told no' to the request of an order, the reason being that customers inside would want to come and use the outdoor tables soon. Not only did these staff members dismiss us both without providing a concrete reason, they came across as unfriendly and without charm. There is a way to say no when service is unavailable whilst maintaining the customers want to come back. This was far from our experience!"

"Attractive interior and tables not too close together. Food portions rather mean and request to tone down the chilli was ignored . Wine inferior and therefore expensive at over and above £22 per bottle. I would give it 5 out of 10 overall"

"Located in a small alley just outside the main town, Yen sushi was a great find. The staff were very welcoming. Food is great and just like a few other sushi restaurants, depending on the colour of plat you pick up determines it's price. For me and Mt partner we spent £50. The quality of food was great, although I feel the presentation of some dishes weren't great or consistent. You can also order hot food, the only thing I thought was weird is the waitress would bring empty plates with your hot food to represent its worth rather than just making a note to the table this did take up space on the table which then made it a little tight for other orders. Despite the above this still a great visit. Be sure to drop by if your about. If your a regular sushi eater, you may the fish to lack in quality."
"Once up the stairs, you are greeted by a well appointed restaurant with great views of the Abbey which looked especially good lit up at night. There is a separate vegan menu and you are struck immediately by the reasonable prices. The onion Bhaji to start was superb. Rather than the usual ball, they came in strips which meant they were really crispy and avoided the chickpea flour goo you sometimes get in Bhajis. The accompanying chutney was also delicious. The menu said there was kale in the bhajis and although there were flecks of green, I’m not sure it added a huge amount but that is a minor issue when the dish is so delicious. The bhel puri was a very large portion and although I enjoyed it, it could have done with some peanuts, potato and onion as is usually in the bhel puri I have had in the past. A bit more tamarind sauce would also have lifted the dish. These small issues were forgotten once the outstanding mains were tasted. The masala dosa was perfect; Crisp pancake, soft, well spiced potato interior and tasty chutney and curry sauce. The baby aubergine curry was fantastic, a subtle but rich sauce that complimented the creamy aubergine. The paratha was flakey and perfect for mopping up the outstanding sauce. An excellent meal."

"we really enjoyed our meal here. came to celebrate our 9th anniversary. Unfortunately, we were not told during our booking that we would only have 90 minutes of the table, as we felt in a hurry and on cursing a bad decision from the office hardly jumped fair on the staff. my main meal was pork belly it was divine 10/10 my man had the rib and he was very happy with him cooked to his lust. I decided for the mont blanc from the festive menu for dessert it was such a disappointment 1/10 bought in meringue very small chestnut and saw chocolate drops that were more like what they melted down for tempting. cote should improve or take it from the menu. I have let the server know of my unmut, unfortunately I have paid the full price for it. our drinks were well made and the wee was excellent, the employees were very friendly and efficient, especially the cookies served. so close to getting 5 stars."

"we are here last night and it was nice eating, friendly staff. we both had curry one was disappointed and the other was lammed and I can not recommend both of these dishes enough. the kokosreis was absolutely delicious and the cracker for the table when we arrived were fantastic. the beer was very beautiful and the music was beautiful and not too loud. the atmosphere was really nice and the restaurant was not very busy when we were there and so there was not much noise, which meant that our meals could be enjoyed."

"Exceptional food and service. Everything from the appetisers, the mains and the dessert was truly outstanding. Even if you aren't hungry, just pop in and try their cheesecake. It's flavour, texture and presentation was on exquisite. They made our night by bringing out a dessert that said Happy 8th anniversary. Management Staff are super friendly and attentive. The best restaurant we have been to in Bath. Rooms: 5"
