"spectacular eating with a warm welcome. alex, our waiter, was excited to find the dishes that we 'd most happy work with a no gay group diet that cut away a good piece of the menu. Finally, he decided to create a few tailor-made plates that he hoped to wake us and they woke us! we first enjoyed a red pizza with parmesan, rocket and fresh tomatoes. the tomatoes were perfectly ripe, high quality, provide an intense burst of taste, accompanies the nutty rocket to cut through a generous part of the creamy, salty cheese. the cheese overwhelmed but not or weighed off the dish, perfectly matched the acidic, slightly peppery tomato sauce. gattusos cruste is one of the best I have experienced 'through crispy and thin on the bottom without trembling or sagging, and a delicious salty outer rim that was ultra light and crisp. our second court was an aubergine and tomaten penne. I have to confess that I usually don't go for red sose pastas, as I find the sour tomato a bit too a note. however, this pasta changed my mind; delicate aubergine paired perfectly with al dente penne, and both were made in a tasteful, earthy tomato sauce creamy by exactly the right spray of oil and milk. it was simple, bright and full of this house handmade love they feel rare when they eat. we only paid 24 pounds for a lunch with two people, concerning me. it is the type of place where they only know they are remembered and welcomed back as family. I would come back every day to contemplate, lovingly made Italian meals."

"We booked to come for our first anniversary based on a recommendation from others. Upon arrival were very disappointed to see only 2 vegetarian dishes available (one containing peanuts) however the owner was more than happy to explain the reasons why this is the case and even offered an additional meal that could be vegetarian, which was amazing. The drinks were absolutely spot on and the treacle bread was absolutely to die for. The owner even explained how he makes it and the process for it as well as bringing out his 3kg tub of product ready to be made. This alone was an unbelievable touch and we really appreciated the personal touch from him and the waitress as well, both were so happy to talk about the food; it is something you don't get in just any restaurant. Thank you so much for this. When the food came out (it didn't take long at all) it was absolutely outstanding. From the presentation to the flavours it was just everything we would have hoped for. Both dishes were superb. The puddings were also amazingly presented and were clearly made with love and care and not just frozen foods microwaved. The Baked Alaska was unreal! That takes some skill. The service was top notch and personable and we both found conversations with staff and owner to be really genuinely great and felt welcomed and valued. They even allowed us to have a different dessert off menu and barely charged us for it, which was just brilliant. Value for money is excellent when you compare to other similar places and found the overall cost to be exactly what we would expect. Blown away by this place and will come back again very soon!"

"Our family of four, plus two friends, went for lunch there on Saturday. We were kept waiting for almost 10 minutes while they found a table. It was another 15 minutes before they took the food order and they then realised that they had not asked about drinks. Our children 's starter arrived after about 10 minutes, but then no one got their main course for another 45 minutes, and only then after we complained. Other customers who arrived after us had already completed their meal. There was no real apology only a comment that they had a large group in. They had arrived after us and left before us, and only appeared to be about a dozen in number. Several other tables were empty so it could not be said to be busy. The children 's chicken wraps arrived full of some sauce that was not indicated on the menu so had to be sent back. The burgers were overcooked, dry, and tough. The burger bun was so odd that a knife could scarcely cut through it. The coleslaw was gloopy and not at all fresh, and there was a pot of some unidentifiable pink sauce. We certainly didn 't hang around for dessert. It is far from being a cheap menu and was certainly overpriced and poor value for money. Quality control seems to be non existent and staff need to be trained better in customer service. There was an overwhelming sense of 'We know that you won 't come back and we don 't really care, as other people will still come in for one meal '. Needless to say we will never be returning and I strongly suggest that noone else risks it."
