"wow, where you start with this amazing venue and the personal. we booked a year ago the departure lounge café for our high time. we decided that we wanted to hold a blessing ceremony and the reception at the venue. before the booking was the owner simon. very attentive. he would send email to each email immediately and deliver various quotes. When we came out of the locking process and looked at the venue, we knew we wanted to marry here and reserved our data. from there was no question too much. I must have sent simon essay emails and he has answered all my questions quickly. all thinking about the logistics, wet weather, the heating of the marquee, have been displaced, as we had everyone believed that simon and the team would do everything in their doing to make sure that the day runs smoothly and nothing would “pamper” on the day. They are allowed access to the marquee from the Tuesday, what is great when they do diys and helps to be stress-free tomorrow. we were also allowed to go to the marquee after hours, while the caffee ends at 3. I am not much of a DIY person, and the marquee has already done feen, rolls and teppiche so not much needed. we have set some decorations of local suppliers and I made medium pieces of alcohol bottles and candles. an element that could not be set up in advance was the external ceremony. we hired heuballen from a local supplier to come to the high time tomorrow. we had the pleasure of having a slightly cool but sunny day, so our outdoor ceremony could proceed as planned (backup solutions were discussed for the marquee.) I was thrilled when I appeared to see what a nice job simon and team had done to design the heuballs, fix our high-time bow on the floor and make our tee lights as much as we were asking. the week before us were concerned about the temperature in the marquee, as it predicted for our day 11 degrees and sunny, falling to 1 degree in the eve. simon quickly found a company and set a heating. it warns all the time, but my grandmother appreciated it sitting beside him. simon kindly offered us a deal on the heating. the venue arranged welcome drinks of pimms and beer. for eating we chose the hufbraten that our guests enjoyed very much. I would highly recommend the caffes homemade cakes as dessert. they were delicious! we also asked the team to set up an ice station that was a hit. out there was something cool, the hufbraten and puddings were set up in the marquee, there was a lot of space for this with our 100 guests on round tables. I think they usually take the side of the marquee down and they can go outside to get her to eat. it was great to think the team before location and make small adjustments to make sure our guests were comfortable all day (including an extra run to pick up more tequila rose at 9:30 o'clock, the caffe opened the luke to allow our guests to buy additional food when still hungry. the bar in caffe and the dj in the marquee was good, as they gave our guests a quieter time off. the caffe has a quirky vintage style and many feenlichter, so no decoration required. the children loved the play park and loved dancing through the night. the venue looked great in the evening and brightened up with our djs lights and the fairy lights. the next day all our valuables were locked up at night in the caffe. the rest of our article was laid neatly in the middle of the marquee, so we could easily pack. we came there at 2 o'clock, so no hurry to collect objects (they were happy that we were coming on Monday when we wanted.) leave the whole recycling when the venue was happy. if they consider the departure lounge caffe for their high time, they do it. it has such a fun, relaxed mood. the day went so smooth. our guests loved the venue and had a lot of fun from all! the drinks flow, the dancing was gone. my man and I had the best day. sad everything is over! will return to the breakfast to remember (what is delicious, have been before for food.) the cost are also very reasonable, we had a few external suppliers (dj, magier, photographer,) and we had 100 guests so that it was much cheaper if they wanted. thanks to simon and the whole team in lounge caffe. and I had the best day. To be honest, we don't think it could have gone better. Thank you."

Pavilion Tea Rooms

Tea • Soup • Cafés • Coffee

"We spent a lovely afternoon exploring the grounds and surrounding area before heading in for one of the tea rooms afternoon teas. It's a shame that some of the areas are still out of bounds (chapel, maize and main house) due to the pandemic but...hopefully this will be reviewed again soon. There's a maze, farm shop, garden centre, stately home and chapel to explore all within easy walking distance. The staff all seemed very friendly and welcoming on our arrival . Our waitress Claire was very sweet, friendly and attentive. The environment was well set out, extremely clean and attractive . Bright and very well ventilated set in a converted orangery. We felt very safe in these still strange times. The table was laid beautifully on our arrival and our selection of finger sandwiches and cakes and shortbread biscuits were freshly prepared and very tasty. You have the option of tea, coffee, or bubbly if you wish for an additional price. We opted for coffee and it came in a mini cafetière. We had one each which please us. We don't eat fish so we contacted the tearooms when we made the booking and they were more then happy to change our sandwich options and we cheeky also asked for fruit scones which are our favourite. Again the staff were very obliging with regards to our request. We cannot fault our time at the pavilions tea rooms and will definitely be back again soon. We loved the relaxed atmosphere. There's a great area to sit outside in the beautiful walled garden. We noted how dog friendly the outside area was with an area to purchase drinks and cakes outside. There are some great walks for dogs on the park but they should be kept on a lead as there are deer, live stock and children around. These gorgeous tea rooms make a perfect pit stop, and s a great place to relax and unwind and meet up with friends or loved ones or just visit as a visit for a treat to yourself. . . Royal Oak

"We had arrived in Lasham for a short stay and felt confident in choosing to eat at the The Royal Oak after reading recent Trip Advisor reviews; we were highly disappointed when our experience did not match those. It was a Saturday early evening and perhaps the chef had rung in sick...? Or he did not feel up to providing a decent quality meal of the less gourmet offerings on the menu, who knows? We were looking for meals of the well executed but plain fare variety and chose the beef burger and Toulouse sausages. I was bluntly informed that the beef burger came only with chips. Even then I would expect a garnish of salad there wasn't one. My husband asked what came with the sausages and was offered saute potatoes, salad or vegetables; he chose saute potatoes and vegetables. He received the first two accompanied by green salad. Perhaps this should not have surprised us as there were no vegetable sides offered on the menu or indeed any mention of accompanying vegetables for most of the mains. Vegetables seemed to be conspicuous by their absence which was why we asked when ordering. My beef burger could best be described as average with a generous portion of chips. My husband's meal was poor: the saute potatoes were leathery and looked as though they had been sitting around for hours, maybe reheated. He hates to make a fuss so did not send them back to the kitchen as he should have done, although I did mention it to the waiter when we were paying the bill. The only really acceptable part of the meal was the generous portion of olives that we ordered whilst waiting for the mains to arrive.Maybe more care is taken for the high ticket items on the menu but that is not an acceptable approach; all food should be of the same high standard. By the way the Toulouse sausages (3) come at a hefty £16.95 (might have been £16.75) so a lot to pay for such a poor offering.I am sure there must be restaurants that offer better food at these sort of prices and I recommend that you choose one of those."

"We visited for my mum's birthday. She's been wanting to go back after visiting a year earlier, also on her birthdaý. It was a gorgeous day, we enjoyed the scenic walk from the car park but sadly, that's where the pleasant experience ended. The counter staff barely acknowledged us when we went in to find a menu, I was mumbled at and a menu hastily pushed across the counter. Sadly, the menu bore no resemblance to what was on the website (which doesnt state it as being a sample menu) which was a shame and misleading. There was nothing that took our fancy so we decided to just have coffee instead. We decided to sit outside as it was a lovely day. All the unoccupied tables had either crumbs, tea cup marks or both, one had a big puddle on it and given it hadn't rained for days, goodness knows what that was. It wasnt busy when we arrived (2 occupied tables outside and no one inside) so that cant be blamed. Not wiping tables between customers at any time isn't good, but during these covid times, poor hygiene is totally unacceptable. I work in a cafe so i know how tough it is in hospitality at the moment, i know how they work and what the standards should be, busy or not. White's fell short of anything I would expect. We'd driven quite a distance to eat here so were really disappointed with everything. At least it was a pretty drive and the cafe in lovely surroundings."
