"Wir haben am Sonntag Abend telefonisch 2 Pizzen zur Lieferung nach Hause bestellt. Nachdem eine Wartezeit von 1 Stunde avisiert wurde, kamen die Pizzen doch schon sehr zügig nach ca. 35 Minuten. "Considering we were headed to the Italy the following day, I was amused (and a bit confused) when our local host brought us to dinner at Padellino. That being said, it was a fun Italian meal complete with good food, wine and excellent company. There are two sections of the restaurant and our large group occupied half of the back dining room which became a semi-private space. While most of our group ordered Antipasti, soup and salad, I just focused on my entree, a baked pasta dish (Penne Paesana mit Fleischsoße und Béchamelsoße). The restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere with an interesting mix of art and seating. The focal point of the main dining room is wood beams and a series of masks on one wall. Fitting since we were there during Carnival season. Service was fine and when we had one hiccup (they prepared the wrong fish dish for a couple of our diners), they realized the mistake prior to serving the meal and corrected it quickly. While I prefer to enjoy local cuisine when I travel, this was a good option in the old city. Rating is really 3-1/2 stars."

"I had high hopes for this restaurant, but unfortunately they weren't fulfilled. First of all, the venue itself. The restaurant is nicely decorated, but the main room has a lot of reverb, making it very difficult to have conversations. The outside seating is nice, but basic. We decided to sit outside, at the downside, we didn't really have the feeling that the waitresses showed up often enough. We had a round of drinks to start out with, which were watery, small and pricy. Not a good combination. Afterwards we ordered starters and main courses. The appetizers were good, but not exceptional. Same was true for the main dishes: quality seemed good, but cooking was lacking behind. Both steaks we ordered rare and medium showed up completely cooked. Presentation was good, so was the Champagne mustard soup. Still, I'm not sure if 25 Euros per entree are justified. Everything was missing that little something and not having salt/pepper on the table didn't help. Overall, a full hour passed between starters and main courses. We mentioned that our drinks were watered down, and the waiter apologized and promised a free round of stronger ones, which never happened. Overall, this place has the potential to become a great restaurant, but right now, it is still missing quite a bit to achieve that."

"Just a cafe. It has also small menu for lunch ans snacks. Coffee was very average. They offers also home-made cakes, sandwiches and toasts in Italian style. Cake I took was ok, but nothing else. However, toast with ham, cheese ans rucola was good. Service...and ambience were fine. The place has very good locations just next to the historical rathaus. Anyway, it is still a good idea, I think, to have a break there when you visiting Ettlingen"

"Wir waren zum Abschluss eines wunderschönen Tages im Elsass am Abend im "Erbprinz" zu Gast. Wir kannten dieses Haus nicht und sind recht zufällig dort eingekehrt. Und die Entscheidung war richtig. Neben einem sehr angenehmen Ambiente hat das, was aus der Küche und dem Keller kam, zum Tag gepasst. Es war blanker Genuss. Obwohl alle Tische belegt waren, wurden wir wirklich umsorgt von aufmerksamem Personal! Das blieb so, bis wir wieder die Lokalität verlassen hatten. Ja, das hat seinen Preis, aber es ist ihn halt auch wert! Da waren wir sicher nicht das letzte Mal. Natürlich findet man immer einen Kritikpunkt, wenn man sucht. Aber wir haben nicht gesucht, wir haben es einfach genossen!"

Nachdem wir dann keinen Ouzo wollten, ließ man uns links liegen und wir mussten sehr lange auf die Rechnung warten. Das hat den Eindruck sehr getrübt."

"Besuch am Sonntag, 04.12.16 mittags.Das Restaurant Spessarter Hof liegt seit 23 Jahren schon im Wohngebiet des Ettlinger Höhenstadtteils Spessart. Die Bushaltestelle (Regionalbus 101 (RVS)) heißt „Wasserwerk“, der Fußweg zum Restaurant dauert etwa 5 Minuten. Der gepflegt Gastraum ist freundlich, modern und geschmackvoll ausgestattet. Durch die große Glasfront ist es sehr hell. Es herrscht eine angenehme Atmosphäre. Die einladende Fassade wurde gerade erneuert.Wir wurden freundlich begrüßt und an unseren reservierten Tisch gebracht. Der Service war aufmerksam und hilfsbereit. Die Reservierung war an diesem Sonntagmittag angebracht. Die Tische waren alle belegt.Als Vorspeise hatten wir je eine halbe Portion Muscheln (zusammen 12,80 Euro). Sehr schmackhaft und pikant, in einer würzig-fruchtigen Tomatensauce gegart. Das Pizzabrot war unheimlich lecker. Ein Hauptgericht war Lachs mit Pasta (16,80 €), der Lachs perfekt gegart, gut gewürzt und optisch sehr schön angerichtet, dazu gab es einen Salat. Zum Abschluss gönnten wir uns noch ein sehr schmackhaftes hausgemachtes Tiramisu (4,50 Euro), bzw. eine Tasse Kaffee (2,10 Euro). Pizzen wurden häufig gewählt und auch über die Straße verkauft und machten einen hervorragenden Eindruck.Als Begleiter zum Essen haben wir jeweils einen tief dunklen Nero d'Avolo sicilia bzw. einen frischen Pinot Grigio (0,25l 4,80 bzw. 4,50 Euro) ausgewählt. Das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis passt angesichts der gebotenen Qualität.Die Toiletten im Untergeschoss sind sauber und gepflegt. Fazit: Es war ein gelungener Mittag, wir haben uns wohl gefühlt und kommen sehr gerne wieder, spätestens, wenn man auf der großen Terrasse im Freien sitzen kann."
