"Delicious food and great atmosphere We ordered olives for the starter. We first ordered chicken and it wasn’t available. However, it was nice to try new things on the menu. Thus, I had a traditional french dish, tartiflette with a baguette which was delicious. The others had steak and vegetarian meals. The service was good. Although, we had to wait for quite a long time, it was worth the wait to have quality food."

"I recently had the pleasure of trying some of the best and most authentic Indian food in the UK. The staff at this restaurant were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was exceptional. In addition to the excellent service and delicious food, it was the little touches that really stood out to me, such as their attention to accessibility, ability to accommodate special requests, complimentary chocolates, and hot napkins. Overall, I must say that this place truly deserves all the praise it receives. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and was impressed by the wide array of vegetarian options available. "I and my mother went a nice dinner together and when we first went in we waited a few minutes until we sat and then got told everyone table, they have covers in there restaurant and there was only we had not been busy as I expected it was as it had been since the fire reopened. we had the bottle Tosti-Prosecco, for which was beautiful. then we decided to share our whole food. for the appetizers we had the garlic bread, the olives and the mac and the cheeses. the garlic bread was standard and so were the olives, but the mac and cheese bite were not so cheeky and looked like frozen, which they received from the co op on the road. they got from them how half a bag mixed leaves for weren not overly impressed by the starters, for the main we had the proscuit rucola pizza and the penne zuchinne pasta. we thought the pizza was not good, the crust seemed to be brought along and the cheese on the top was definitiw preflections dacheddar pizza as the saß the pasta on the other side was beautiful could be seasoned with more and the courgette and sunk tomatoes to be cut a little more so u with most mouthfuls they have, we have the sun-dried tomatoes cut us and it was much better. for and in the pasta are not large lumps of sun-dried tomatoes. with the netzen we had the truffle and parmesan fries and the insalata said what mozzarella and tomato was with balsam and olive oil. the fries tasted like frozen, which had been boiled and then was put on parmesan, it did not taste or smell as if there were any truffles, disappointed. and the salat had tomato that were rocky as they just come out of the refrigerator, and the mozzarella slices were tiny and saw and tasty business brought and it was with what looked like a rake. we ate about half the pasta and had each disc of pizza and that was enough. we sat in front of a table of ladies and they asked the waitress to share the Bill Way, and she was very rude and said I can't put the Salat in the game, but I don't think she understood what the ladies said. they finally paid we went up to the time to pay as we had enough, and then we said good night to those who had raised eyebrows on us. we paid and our total bill was what I think was for what we had, that went off. we will not come back and we have even said to the waitress before we left that a smile helps with good customer service and it goes for us native. very dissatisfied."

"Disappointed this evening , have been many times previously but tonight wasn’t a good experience. Staff very busy with many take away collections so not a relaxed atmosphere. They had run out of tofu at 7 pm !!! The wine we chose was unavailable, the meal took ages to arrive and the sticky Thai rice arrived in an inedible lump, I had to wait for a replacement by which time my friends had finished their meal. Piles of dirty? Table clothes laundry up at the back of the restaurant towards the loos . All looking a bit shabby , shame as it used to be great"

"Had a very enjoyable meal at the Dinosaur Cafe. We had the kofte and moussaka both of which were very tasty. The accompanying salads and the homemade baklava were fantastic. It is very much home style cooking so better suited for those looking for a relaxed good value meal rather than fine dining. Service was very good and the food came out promptly which was ideal given that we were eating prior to a performance at the Northcott. We would definitely return."

"We had a delightful last meal at this Catalan restaurant before they relocate to Devon. The Sea Bass special and Calamari were exceptional, and everything else we tried was delicious. We will miss this place and the hardworking staff who always seemed to be running up and down the stairs."

"this is a must visit restaurant when in exeter. If we were approaching, we would be a parent. the food and service is excellent. the biggest problem is to decide what to start, so we have ordered more than one and divided like a meze. its friendly atmosphere and freshly cooked and prepared eating seems really through, and in contrast to some larger chains they feel welcome and their use is appreciated and appreciated. when they go early, I think, before 6.30 a.m. they get a 20% discount, which made it excellent worth for money, but if they later value its still great, as the portions are very generous. to be fair, all smaller appetite would go best for children portioning. Even those who are not sure about Greek cuisine, they really have to try to give this, and all the natives who have not been what they do, they bring themselves down there."

"My girlfriend had been wanting to take me to this cafe for ages. We had tried previously but it was too busy to get in, but it is well worth the wait! We were about to leave as it didn 't look like we were going to get a seat, until on table excitedly knocked on the window to say we could take their table, with a look on their faces which said: you have to try this place! . We got in and ordered a coffee and tea (the coffee was especially lush! and took in the ambience of the place including the brick wall, the range of foliage dotted about and the choice of art hanging around the place. Being a designer myself I felt truly inspired being in there and would absolutely love to take myself in there to work. And that 's before the food came out! I have lived in Exeter my whole life, and never before have I had a Full English Breakfast like this before! It was by far the best I have had (not including my Nan 's... sorry, I 'm biased and would absolutely recommend, especially as it doesn 't break the bank. Overall it was a really nice experience and is certainly one of the (very hidden treasures of Exeter, which makes it all the more special. Thanks again No. 1 Polsloe, I 'll be in again soon! S"

"Went in on the recommendation of my slightly larger pal Matt. He had been gushing about 'the best breakfast in town ' for some time so I had high hopes. From the moment I sat down, I knew he was onto something. Very friendly service, clear menu, and cracking food. The bacon and sausages were top drawer, the beans not too runny and not too thick, two very yellow yolked fried eggs, a perfectly grilled tomato, really tasty mushrooms and a couple of rounds of toast all set us up well My only gripe was the beans being allowed out of a 'seclusion zone ' but I was quite rightly told, I could have had my special requirement addressed if I had asked! When that 's the only grip, you can trust me, this is a great spot for a drop of breakfast AND they are licensed so would be a brilliant kick off for a day drinking!"

"Came here for lunch. Staff weren't too friendly. Service was a bit poor as for got my friends panni. Was told after ordering that I couldn't have cheese chips cause they didn't have enough to do cheese sandwich or panni if there do cheese on chips ? Good choice of on tap largers beers etc apart from they didn't have 2 cause they were waiting for delivery. They were very child and dog friendly. Menu is good but portions were very small. Also couldn't be bothered to turn on the separate fryer to do gluten free. (There own words from the chief)"

"I've eaten tea with my mother this afternoon. looked at a beautiful table at the window looking at the cathedrale, unfortunately it was raining and was a boring day, but still beautiful. I am very fussy so that the choice of sandwich and a cake was nice as there was a lot to choose. nice eating and a large slice of cheesecake that was delicious, probably the best cheesecake I had! would definitely come back for the afternoon tea and taste breakfast and lunch."

"I think the restaurant has changed hands recently, anyway we were told there was a new menu. The menu was somewhat limited, but I considered that a good sign that the food would be properly prepared and thought through. The hostess was a delight and...when I had a question about one of the food items the chef came out to answer (it was quince jelly). We were one of the first people there and the place was still empty except for one other person. I don't know how busy it might get later in the evening or weekends. We were both very satisfied with our meals and the cheeseboard was excellent. There are steps into the restaurant and also to the toilets."

"I recently hosted my husband's surprise 50th birthday party at City Gate in early July and I cannot praise the entire team, especially Jon, enough! From the moment I made the booking, Jon was always available and very enthusiastic about helping me plan the party exactly how I wanted. He assisted me in selecting the perfect room for the number of guests, showed me all the available food and drink options, and promptly answered any questions I had. On the night of the party, all the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. They even wheeled a TV into the room so we could watch the Euros quarter-finals penalties before my husband arrived, ensuring everyone was in the right place at the right time. Our guests complimented the lovely atmosphere, tasty food, and appreciated the ability to control the music volume and use our own music. We utilized The Gallery room, which was fantastic as it was warm and had doors that opened up to a patio area, allowing smokers and non-smokers to mingle together. I highly recommend Jon and City Gate for any party - they are excellent hosts, provide great food, and create a fabulous atmosphere. Thank you so much!"

"The decor is inviting, ....but that's about it. I have always been a huge admirer of Lebanese food, from all restaurants experiences I have had in the past....until today! Food was really basic, nothing exciting out of all the many dishes we ordered, the lamb and butter bean stew was really particularly poor. Not Lebanese food but colourful ready made easy to plate dishes with nice decor to please average crowd with no much expectations....that's how it feels... On top, service is left to teenagers who, eager to do well, are so fast and rushing around to a quite stressful level. ...at least I can't say they were slow!!! But that isn't really professional... Let's finish with having brownies and cheesecake on the desserts menu should be a clue of how much this place isn't a Lebanese restaurant.y mistake, I should have read the menu before! .... extremely disappointing experience."

"I can not fault the food at all, well not from the little bit I tried at least. Ordered it as delivery for a friends birthday evening and they forgot to delivery my meal. After calling them they didn’t want to do anything about it...as it was through Uber eats. Unfortunately it wasn’t Uber Eats that forgot to put it in the delivery bag or best of all as told even cook the meal. I felt sorry for the women on the phone who didn’t really know what she was doing, her boss wasn’t there so she had to call them and they had basically told her nothing can be done, It’s not the experience you expect from somewhere that has amazing reviews. Really let down!!"

"I just want to admit that I'm not a vegan, but I have reduced my consumption of meat and milk products. my partner founded her diet on vegan, so on a visit to exeter she introduced me into the plant cafe! we were warmly welcomed and found a place in the window, it was a beautiful day, so was nice, lunch with a view of the cathedrale green. I had a look through the menu and it was filled with incredible sounding feeds and drinks! I was stubborn what to choose! we decided quickly for a coffee. my goodness, the coffee was beautiful! rich in taste and I was blown away! better than a few coffee houses. we finally decided for a homity pipe. the presentation was amazing! I just couldn't wait to dig in! we had a long look around more exeter, so it was nice to finally recover and have something nice to eat. the cake was nicely light, really tasty! they get a lot of beautiful aroma, taste break for their palette. as it was a nice bite, we decided to get the carrot cake. one of the best decisions! my goodness, it's the best carrot cake I've ever tasted! the aromen were perfect, beautifully moist and also not too dry! you say that every quantity goes carefully into every dish! everything beautifully presented and prepared. I can't recommend this place enough. for everyone will not love vegan and vegan eating! incredible and beautiful workers who were very helpful and beautiful. they recognize some amazing recommendations for us, especially as our first visit. we're coming back a few points!"

"We booked a reservation for Taco Macho however, as we don’t live in Exeter, we struggled to find it. I called up and asked them for directions and the lady on the phone couldn’t have been more helpful and professional! She didn’t leave the call until we knew exactly where we were going and even stepped outside and began waving until we could see her. Her service was brilliant and she was very friendly which made our experience even better. Taco Macho is a very chilled out place with amazing food and quality service- not to mention extremely clean toilets. The burrito tasted amazing and had a variety of fillings. I loved coming here and will be definitely be returning when i’m next in Exeter. Would recommend to anyone, 10/10!"

"After taking a carriage tour, we decided to have lunch at this restaurant. We ordered grilled snapper and a crab cake burger. The snapper was fresh and delicious, while the burger was decent but not my top choice. The crab cake had too much mayonnaise for my liking. The crab soup was flavorful, with visible crab meat, but I found it to be a bit too salty."
