"update 6. august at breakfast see below at the same time fine eating and fashionable, this is a brilliant place to have a special dinner or breakfast. each dish is quite affordable for itself, but they vary in size as filling they are. each ingredient is carefully selected and artistically combined. some courts reef on traditional classifieds such as roasted brot or warm kartoffel salad, others push borders, create something new. the atmosphere is very casual and hip. quirky: everyone has a bottle of vodka from which you can help yourself. they also have beautiful wine options. we are coming back in definitiw! 6. august: we are back! absolutely brilliant breakfast. for 26€ you will get an all inclusive meal with as many food and drink as you like. a bit more traditional and comfortable than dinner, while equally good quality. once again, good at all again! updated by previous review on 2022 07 21"

"Could not have asked for better. This is a highly recommended little place. I phoned to make bookings at a few TripAdvisor recommended spots for Frankfurt and as it was very busy at this time, reservations were scarce and phone calls were brusquely answered/declined at...some of the so-called top then establishments. I Edelweiss phoned on a Tuesday asking for a booking for either than night or the following. In perfect English, to my relief, after much consultation they said they could not take us the next day, but had a gap that night, but only at their upstairs seating around bar-height tables. Needless to say I grabbed this and intended to march our merry crew into Sahenhausen that night. We were delayed by late business appointments and fearing the loss of our table we phoned to inform them that we'd be a little late. This was no problem and on arrival we were delighted to see they'd made a special effort to seat us downstairs in the heart of their charming little pub/restaurant and were very chilled about our late arrival. Being more than peckish we piled into their wonderfully appetising menu; selections being the Schnitzel (naturally) the veal, the wild boar goulash stew, Austrain version of chicken? Sausages and one or two others. We had eight clean plates and many thumbs up's on a superb delivery of nicely assisted choices. With full bellies no one was slightly interested in desert. However on listening to the description we reluctantly decided to share a few plates of their famous pancake/cherry desert. Believe me the reluctance to have a desert vanished at the first shared spoonful. This is indeed a house specialty as we've never had anything close anywhere else in our two weeks in Frankfurt. Our server was such a pleasant young man. On serving us in the beginning he looked as surprisied we were when we could not understand a word of German. Ja, Englisch he asked and from then on conversed in the most excellent English with superb recommendations for which we were most grateful. Do visit here. Its easy from the Frankfurt South S Bahn station. Simply go up the road, turn right and walk a few paces til you reach edelweiss. Oh, and importantly for business travelers, they accept most credit cards."

"This had a buzzing atmosphere. Highly recommend to make a reservation as people kept coming throughout the night starting from 6pm and needing to stand for a while to get a table. Fun décor inside although we sat outside. Excellent Ethiopian/ Eritrean food – I had the vegan plate of injera (the fermented bread) served with four curries (spinach, potato, red lentils, and chickpeas) plus little salad in the middle. Tasted great. I was hungry and couldn’t finish it! Really recommend it. Please note they do not accept credit cards only debit cards and cash."

"Unser erster Besuch war sehr enttäuschend, Bedienung wohl überfordert und auch nur nett wenn man nichts zu beanstanden hat. Wir hatten ein Haar im Essen und der Kellner war sehr pampig als wenn das dem gast seine Schuld war und das bekommt auch das ganze Lokal mit. Preisleistung ist auch nicht ganz ok bei den kleinen Portionen. In der heutigen Zeit ein echtes no go. Das wird für uns keinesfalls ein nächstes Mal geben!!!"

"Leider war der Besuch in diesem Japanischem restaurant ein Reinfall.Ich war alleine da. Das Ambiente sehr nüchtern und schon fast traurig. Sieht aus wie eine alte Trinkhalle aus den 70er. Habe Sushi bestellt. Der war nicht gut. Rieseiger Klotz Thunfisch, kein wasabi. Fast schon Ekelerregend.Als Hauptspeise habe ich Chicken teriaki bestellt. Der hat geschmeckt als hätte ich es selber gekocht, zu Hause. Und ich kann überhaupt nicht kochen.Nur die Miso Suppe war ok.Und nach ca 1 Stunde zu Hause hat der Darm rebelliert....also...frisch war es alles nicht.Wie schade....den Punkt gebe es für die freundliche Dame an der Theke.Ansonsten empfehle ich dieses Restaurant nicht. Und der Spass hat 30 Euro gekostet...(4 Stuck Nigiri, chicken Teriaki und eine Flasche Bier 33)"

"Leider, leider, leider hat die Qualität des Essen seit der Pandemie so nachgelassen. Ich war so früher so oft und so gerne im Eat N Art essen, aber ich lasse es jetzt sein. Ich habe es in letzter Zeit noch drei mal probiert und war jedes Mal enttäuscht. Das Club Sandwich wird nun statt mit einer frischen Avocadocreme mit einer Soße aus der Tube gemacht. Das Schnitzel scheint mit aus der Tiefkühltruhe zu kommen und ob die Grüne Soße Hausgemacht ist zweifel ich inzwischen auch an. Ich finde es total schade, das so ein schöner laden so abbaut. Da würde ich lieber mehr Geld für die alte Qualität zahle. Die jetzigen Preise sind bei der schlechten Qualität leider nicht mehr gerechtfertigt. Das ist so schade!!"

"I found "The Lion" through the journal "Frankfurt geht aus" the (annual) local print special with restaurant rankings.I have just been there the second time and the experience is the same.The restaurant is not too big at the first glance but has an additional room upstairs and is at weekends often booked. In these cases it takes long until you get your food. It is visible that the Lion was a german village restaurant years ago but the furniture is modern to mediterrenean which is a great mix.The menue is - for my taste - not that interesting but they have a changing additional menue with seasonal and/or special meals which are very recommendable.The first time we were there I had goat variations and my wife a marinated pork (style sour marinated beef) which was excellent.This time I had an "Osso Bucco", slices from the leg (veal), with noodles and veggies at 18,50 which was very good and my wife went for the asparagus menue at 32,50 starting with a coctail of the day (prosecco with self made strawberry sorbet) followed by a mousse of green and white asparagus with smoked salmon which was nice but nothing super special. The main was a chop of duroc porc (very good) and the best asparagus I had so far this year. The dessert was a cream with fresh strawberrys, nice as well.The beer is a good brand and the selection of wines is good as well.It is not the cheapest place to go but what you get for your money is good."

"Our family has tried most of the food in the menu and we like everything so far. We normally go for take-out but they do have a couple of tables for dining outside. Not sure if they have seating inside as we normally go for take-out. They also have a mini-store inside where one can buy a few Japanese or Korean goods. This is our favorite take-out place because we know we’ll always get something good whatever we choose on the menu. (Sometimes it’s difficult because we can’t decide what to get because all are delicious. Not kidding. The people working there are very friendly, too."

"Went there yesterday to have some ice cream. Shared mango, cherry, strawberry, and mint/orange. Although a bit expensive (1.60 per scoop) the taste was great! Unfortunately the wafers don't seem to be vegan, so I had to take a cup. The vegan ones are labeled as such, so picking is a lot easier. You can also sit down inside and outside to enjoy it right away. I enjoyed mango and mint/orange the most, but the other ones are very yummy as well. Everything (except for the wafers) is organic and handmade btw! So I'm OK paying a bit extra. We'll be back! PS: Opening times in summer are till 10. We were there half an hour before closing time and they had more than enough ice cream still available half an hour before closing time. I think 6 vegan ones."

"Wir waren zum 1. Mal hier aber sicher nicht zum Letzten! Der Service war hervorragend, herzlich und zuvorkommend! Das Essen war super, nicht typisch „deutsch griechisch“ in Knoblauch, fett und Gewürzen ertränkt.. sonder frisch, lecker und wirklich authentisch. "Optimal for a nice lunch or dinner. The food is uncomplicated and very well done. I had the salad with goat cheese and veggies. It was delicious. The location is an open room with high ceilings and unfortunately loud, so it is better to sit...in the back of the place at the small tables if you want to have a conversation in a larger group. Service was very attentive and competent. The place has also a very spacious cinema where you can watch your movie while having proper dinner. Only minus is parking no parking in front but if you don't mind to walk for minutes you can park at Messe Parkhaus or at the Marriot"

"City salad offers many clearly identified vegan options and you can create your own salad or bowl. If you want, you can even choose your dish according to nutritional needs, with individual macro nutrient ratio online. It is very fresh, they offer e.g. carrots lax and mushroom kebab. Of course also vegan classics such as tofu, beans etc. The lentil dal I choose was only al dente boiled lenses. No coconut cream stew-like consistency you would expect from a Dal. My individual bowl was more on the middle smaller side and around 12€ ."

"The chestnut in Frankfurt am Main Fechenheim is a small but very fine restaurant. It has a beautiful large chestnut in the courtyard/beer garden. Here you can go very well with guests. Despite Covid 19 restrictions, the service still works well here. The food is always freshly prepared, so you have to buy a little waiting time. The food tastes uniquely good. It's worth getting back here."

"Happy to stumble over this restaurant. It was good to fill us, but we were not completely satisfied. We had the mixed vegan pack (falafel and kofta) with humble and vegan tartaric acid sauce. The portion size was huge, but the Kofta and Falafel were a little tasteless. The staff was nice and I liked you to add extras. The menu was huge, but not everything is vegan despite the name."

"My hubby and I went to this petite cafe on a lazy Sunday. It is a very small cafe. On the day we went there was only one person working so the service was slow. If we were in a hurry, it would have been very annoying, but it was a Sunday and we had nowhere else to go; it was fine. I felt sorry for the male server because he was doing everything from making omelettes, taking orders, clearing table, greeting patrons, etc. I hope it was an exception that day and that usually the cafe has more than one person working there at a time. I think one server when the cafe is full is too stressful for the one server. The coffee is wonderful Wacker Cafe roast- strong and flavorful., We ordered an assortment of cheeses, and meats to enjoy with a basket full of bread. We also shared an order of Greek yogurt with honey- yum yum! The Greek yogurt was extra creamy, thick and delicious. I would recommend Paris' Bar for brunch/breakfast or an afternoon cafe. I haven't tried their dinners but, if the opportunity presents itself, I would certainly give it a try."

"I wouldn't really call myself a coffee snob but it turns out that living in New Zealand automatically makes you somewhat fussy about your coffee (the general standard is so good). I have realised this on previous travels and started to map out where to get a decent cup of coffee when going to new cities. The Holy Cross Brewing Society was on that map and boy was I pleased to find it!After a number of mediocre white coffees in Frankfurt I was brave enough to go for a single origin filter here and it was delicious. Upon asking, I found out that the lady behind the counter spent 4 years in Melbourne, Australia. You know you're in safe hands when you hear that.Go for the good stuff."

"Obwohl wir in einem anderen Viertel Frankfurts wohnen, fahren wir immerwieder zu Rinaldo Rinaldini - vom Zentrum sehr schnell erreichbar und gute Parkmöglichkeiten. Es ist immer wieder ein Genuss und eine wunderbare Atmosphäre. Als erstes wurde uns Pizzabrot vom Haus serviert - der Teig war so luftig und lecker! Oliven, Brot und Butter waren auch sofort auf dem Tisch. Als Vorspeise bestellte ich Vitello Tonnato - ein unvergesslicher Genuss. Als Hauptspeise hatte ich Muscheln in Tomatensoße - dermaßen frisch und lecker! In diesem Restaurant schätze ich, dass Meeresfrüchte immer frisch geliefert und frisch zubereitet werden! Meine Freundin aß ein zartes Kalbsfilet mit frischen Steinpilzen. Dass die Pilze wirklich frisch sind, wurde uns sogar vom Chef vorgeführt, was ich sehr nett fand :) Das Personal ist sehr aufmerksam und flott. Wir gehen da immer mit einem Vergnügen hin. Auf den nächsten Besuch freue ich mich schon!"

"the trink hall is super beautiful in the green strips frankfurts. there are many seats, consisting of second hand furniture, and a large selection of different cold and warm drinks as well as some vegan snacks (the peanut brews were the hammer, if they can not get a place, they can also sit on the meadow, it is a very relaxed atmosphere and they can spend hours there."
