"Was visiting Frankfurt for the weekend to catch up with a friend. Found this lil gem hiding Esslinger It was a late evening meal and the restaurant was almost about to be closed. However, the hostess Mitra was kind to accommodate and serve us....We were served with an Iranian salad (cheese, bread, onions, parsley)as we arrived then we Ordered Ash -e- Rishtey for the starter and Khoobideh for the mains and Ice cream Sannati. Food was delicious and flavourful, the lamb in the khoobideh was tender and juicy. It was more like home made Persian food. Though it's a small place, the service was brilliant by hostess Mitra. If you are in Frankfurt, looking for some home made food and like Persian food then you can't go wrong with this one. I will return when I am next in Frankfurt."

"Every time we are in Frankfurt, we always make a trip here. Up until the last visit, we have had nothing but great experiences here. On this last visit though, we were a bit disappointed with out experience. Yes, the food was still very good,...but now if you are drinking anything nonalcoholic, you are given a glass to serve yourself from a soda fountain. I expect that from somewhere like an Ikea cafeteria or a fast food place, but when you're paying over € 70 for two people to eat, having to get your own beverages is kind of ridiculous. I hope this was just a temporary trial and not something permanent. We also noticed the service was not as attentive to the tables as they had been in the past, i.e., where as in the past they would bring out the Korean BBQ and come by to check to ensure the food was cooking properly and that the heat was adjusted as to not burn the food, but this time the BBQ was brought out and just placed on the table and no further attention was given. I'm not 100% sure, but I believe the prices have gone up as well. The service is always very friendly (but it used to be much better) and the food is always good, but I fear that since this place is becoming more and more popular, the current customer base are going to be replaced by the flash in the pan trendy crowds who come and go. I would still recommend this restaurant, but I'm not sure if it still has the same appeal to me anymore. I'll definitely come back, but with a little hesitation and not so high expectations. Up until this last visit I would have given an excellent rating for the service and value, but since we had to serve our own drinks, I can only give an average rating."

"I booked a table in this restaurant well in advance as i had guests in ffm who wanted to try a typical restaurant: as soon as we entered the place no one greeted, they simply ignored us and let us wait 10 mins before approaching...us. Reservation was lost and as the place was booked out no possibility to get a table ....dinner was ruined and not a nice situation for my guests. I’ll never go to this restaurant again!!"

"Could not have asked for better. This is a highly recommended little place. I phoned to make bookings at a few TripAdvisor recommended spots for Frankfurt and as it was very busy at this time, reservations were scarce and phone calls were brusquely answered/declined at...some of the so-called top then establishments. I Edelweiss phoned on a Tuesday asking for a booking for either than night or the following. In perfect English, to my relief, after much consultation they said they could not take us the next day, but had a gap that night, but only at their upstairs seating around bar-height tables. Needless to say I grabbed this and intended to march our merry crew into Sahenhausen that night. We were delayed by late business appointments and fearing the loss of our table we phoned to inform them that we'd be a little late. This was no problem and on arrival we were delighted to see they'd made a special effort to seat us downstairs in the heart of their charming little pub/restaurant and were very chilled about our late arrival. Being more than peckish we piled into their wonderfully appetising menu; selections being the Schnitzel (naturally) the veal, the wild boar goulash stew, Austrain version of chicken? Sausages and one or two others. We had eight clean plates and many thumbs up's on a superb delivery of nicely assisted choices. With full bellies no one was slightly interested in desert. However on listening to the description we reluctantly decided to share a few plates of their famous pancake/cherry desert. Believe me the reluctance to have a desert vanished at the first shared spoonful. This is indeed a house specialty as we've never had anything close anywhere else in our two weeks in Frankfurt. Our server was such a pleasant young man. On serving us in the beginning he looked as surprisied we were when we could not understand a word of German. Ja, Englisch he asked and from then on conversed in the most excellent English with superb recommendations for which we were most grateful. Do visit here. Its easy from the Frankfurt South S Bahn station. Simply go up the road, turn right and walk a few paces til you reach edelweiss. Oh, and importantly for business travelers, they accept most credit cards."

"really a great local with the thema matching device. the personal is super friendly and was also flexible during the reservation and responded to changes super. the hummus as an appetizer came fast and very tasty! but would not have been necessary since the vegan plate was really huge as main dish. but also extremely tasty! as speciality is sure to mention that traditionally eaten with the hands! for the happiness we were able to pack the rest (here the now widespread rebowl system is used! super definitiw a visit worth the best with reservation."

"Leider war der Besuch in diesem Japanischem restaurant ein Reinfall.Ich war alleine da. Das Ambiente sehr nüchtern und schon fast traurig. Sieht aus wie eine alte Trinkhalle aus den 70er. Habe Sushi bestellt. Der war nicht gut. Rieseiger Klotz Thunfisch, kein wasabi. Fast schon Ekelerregend.Als Hauptspeise habe ich Chicken teriaki bestellt. Der hat geschmeckt als hätte ich es selber gekocht, zu Hause. Und ich kann überhaupt nicht kochen.Nur die Miso Suppe war ok.Und nach ca 1 Stunde zu Hause hat der Darm rebelliert....also...frisch war es alles nicht.Wie schade....den Punkt gebe es für die freundliche Dame an der Theke.Ansonsten empfehle ich dieses Restaurant nicht. Und der Spass hat 30 Euro gekostet...(4 Stuck Nigiri, chicken Teriaki und eine Flasche Bier 33)"

"I found "The Lion" through the journal "Frankfurt geht aus" the (annual) local print special with restaurant rankings.I have just been there the second time and the experience is the same.The restaurant is not too big at the first glance but has an additional room upstairs and is at weekends often booked. In these cases it takes long until you get your food. It is visible that the Lion was a german village restaurant years ago but the furniture is modern to mediterrenean which is a great mix.The menue is - for my taste - not that interesting but they have a changing additional menue with seasonal and/or special meals which are very recommendable.The first time we were there I had goat variations and my wife a marinated pork (style sour marinated beef) which was excellent.This time I had an "Osso Bucco", slices from the leg (veal), with noodles and veggies at 18,50 which was very good and my wife went for the asparagus menue at 32,50 starting with a coctail of the day (prosecco with self made strawberry sorbet) followed by a mousse of green and white asparagus with smoked salmon which was nice but nothing super special. The main was a chop of duroc porc (very good) and the best asparagus I had so far this year. The dessert was a cream with fresh strawberrys, nice as well.The beer is a good brand and the selection of wines is good as well.It is not the cheapest place to go but what you get for your money is good."

"Leider, leider, leider hat die Qualität des Essen seit der Pandemie so nachgelassen. Ich war so früher so oft und so gerne im Eat N Art essen, aber ich lasse es jetzt sein. Ich habe es in letzter Zeit noch drei mal probiert und war jedes Mal enttäuscht. Das Club Sandwich wird nun statt mit einer frischen Avocadocreme mit einer Soße aus der Tube gemacht. Das Schnitzel scheint mit aus der Tiefkühltruhe zu kommen und ob die Grüne Soße Hausgemacht ist zweifel ich inzwischen auch an. Ich finde es total schade, das so ein schöner laden so abbaut. Da würde ich lieber mehr Geld für die alte Qualität zahle. Die jetzigen Preise sind bei der schlechten Qualität leider nicht mehr gerechtfertigt. Das ist so schade!!"

"Some colleagues and I recently went here for the first time and after seeing the prices and having been made aware of the portion size, we thought about just ordering one dish per person out of courtesy and then head out for pizza instead. Well, it didn't come to that because as soon as we've tried the first dishes, we couldn't stop ordering more! In the end each of us had a personal favorite and I personally didn't like every single dish, but we could easily agree on a second serving of the blinis with mashed butternut and belluga lentils. As the menu changes regularly and probably seasonally, it might not be on the menu when you are there, but I'm sure you'll find your own highlights. And as another reviewer has pointed out, there's free schnapps on the tables. To be exact, it was vodka and probably the smoothest vodka I've ever tasted, so one could easily drink it neat; but that means missing out on some great wines. So the food was great, the drinks were great and the interior design and the music made for a special atmosphere, plus the staff is friendly and far from snobbish. All in all we've had a perfect evening. And the next time we're at a pizza joint we might as well just order something out of courtesy and head back to Leuchtendroter again."

"I stop here every time I visit Frankfurt! Great fish! No matter your choice, it is fresh, simply cooked, and tastes GREAT! One challenge for the one that does not know German like me! The menu can be challenging. It is in English but only fair in clearly describing dish. The wait staff will gladly help. But, if it is busy they may not be too patient. The restaurant is somewhat small and tight seating. So be prepared to wait if busy. But it is worth it!!"

"City salad offers many clearly identified vegan options and you can create your own salad or bowl. If you want, you can even choose your dish according to nutritional needs, with individual macro nutrient ratio online. It is very fresh, they offer e.g. carrots lax and mushroom kebab. Of course also vegan classics such as tofu, beans etc. The lentil dal I choose was only al dente boiled lenses. No coconut cream stew-like consistency you would expect from a Dal. My individual bowl was more on the middle smaller side and around 12€ ."

"The atmosphere of this wine bar in Sachsenhausen is welcoming, quaint yet sophisticated. I met a friend for a quick bite before heading off to hear some blues and it was a perfect choice. The wine list is extensive and the shrimp in avocado we ordered could not have been more enjoyable. This place appears to be a well kept secret favored by the locals, so much so the restaurant does not have business cards. I hesitate recommending this spot for fear it will become too crowded but what they heck... They deserve a positive shout out for being so cool. Reservations are highly recommended."

"the owner is very friendly to us in a really busy night. they are as similar to the ajumma and ajusshi images that they can surpass in K-drama. her restaurant may not look, but good food keeps me back and again. If I want a nice comfy korean dinner, Mr.Lee is my first. what I really love about Mr.Lee is that it is a very generous and much banchan (small beside dish) and they really taste good, I would just eat this banchan with rice if I could say some that their drank is small, but I don't think so, I mean they are not greedy at expensive stuff. for example, other korean restaurant could put a lot of cheap vegetables in buchujeon, but the pancake here is actually filled with lots of seafood and of course sliced."

"The interior is cute and looks like a really nice coffee place where you can hang with friends or have a little work sesh.. Before I ordered I asked if they have wifi because I needed to work and the girl at the counter gave me the password. After I got my coffee and started to work a lady comes to me and says very unfriendly "no laptops on weekends". To my question "why?" she just replied "it's also written on our menus." Thanks for letting me order a 4€ iced coffee (not even that recommendable) first!!"

"Wir hatten das Palast Package (4-Gang Menü, Aperitif, Weinbegleitung, Show inkl 1/2 Flasche Champagner pro Person) für 245 Euro pP gebucht. Und wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Sehr freundlicher Empfang. Das anschließende Menü auf höchstem Niveau, alles perfekt aufeinander abgestimmt, wunderschön angerichtet, einfach top. Der Service war durchgehend freundlich und charmant. Der Sommelier hatte sehr schöne, passende Weine zu den Gerichten ausgesucht. In Kombination mit der anschließenden Show einfach ein besonderer Abend, den man trotz des beachtlichen Preistickets sicher gern mal wiederholt."
