"I visited Wagamama in the Metro Centre on 7th May 2022, it was my first time in any Wagamama despite several attempts to get there, it was a Child free weekend so we thought we would take the opportunity and give it a whirl. While lining up to get into the restaurant a man was handing out menus and took the time to speak to us, on being told that it was out first time there, he made several suggestions for first timers and happily spent time talking to us, it transpires that this Gent was actually the restaurant Manager (we discovered later). After only a few minute wait, we were seated and introduced to our Waiter, a nice Guy named Jack. Jack was also aware that we were first time customers and again was happy to offer advice on the menu items and also, crucially, the portion sizes. Drinks arriving quickly with the food following soon after with Jack making sure that the food arrived quickly. We followed the previous advice and ordered Duck Donburi and Chicken Teriyaki Donburi as well as the Hoisin Duck Buns as a side order. The food was incredible.....we both ate every last scrap and left the restaurant full. We then had a quick chat with the Manager who took time to re-visit our table to find out, as first time customers, what we'd ordered, what we'd thought of the food and also the service. Thankfully I was able to give him great feedback. the food, Jack who served us, everything had been 100% perfect and also confirmed with him that we would happily return to his restaurant. In fact, not 6 days later, we are already making plans to do so, the meal was THAT good. To sum up, I would and will, happily return. The restaurant was clean, the staff were friendly and the Manager seemed to take a real interest in new customers and their experience which is always a good sign. Thanks Jack and all the Team who dealt with us on our first meal there.....we will be back."

"It was a Monday lunchtime and the first working day of September. Technically it was back to school day but not many schools go back on that first day, do they? The Metrocentre was busy. We walked in, a family of 6, and waited to be seated. There was one server busying herself at the back but she didn 't see us. Eventually, another server (who seemed to be in charge appeared through a door and got us seated. We then proceeded to look at the menu. I have to say that I was a little taken aback by the pricing but it was my daughters choice as it was her birthday. I withheld my Yorkshireman instincts to mutter how much?! . It took over 15 minutes for a server to come and take out order. At the time we were seated we were only the 3rd table with anyone sat at it. We seemed to wait an awfully long time for the food to arrive. Annoyingly the sides (chilli-cheese nachos and some chips arrived way before the actual burgers did. They were definitely cool by the time they did and I was actually about to ask for them to be taken back when the server arrived with the burgers. Remember: these were sides not starters . Once we have finished, and to be fair the food was nice so our plates were empty, it again took far too long for either of the 2 service staff to notice, despite is being a table they had to pass in order to go to their station and kitchen. They came to take the plates and I had to remind them that two of our children had ordered kids meals that came with ice cream. We were now really pressed for time, so we asked for the ice creams to go. They were fin with that. But I had to laugh when they brought them over. They must serve these icecreams in a bowl with an up-turned cone on top. They had recreated this in a plastic pint glass. When I asked how they expected our children to eat that they sent us away with two long metal spoons and told me to just keep them . Aside from the tasty food I was left very disappointed by this food outlet. Poor service and high prices (for what is still a burger let it down for me. I have to say that £3.50 for a small bowl of standard chips is pushing the boundary of taking the p*ss in my book. We won 't be going back, to either this outlet or any of it 's others."

"Last Saturday, my sister was set the task of organising a family dinner for 13 on very short notice to welcome our family members from South Africa. No small task. We settled on this place due to location and reputation. My family were seated and I was late (as usual) but our lovey server Ian was super fast getting me sat down so we could take advantage of the special that night. Now, for a restaurant to do a special on a Saturday is pretty rare and to honour it when it could have easily been refused was the first step in the right direction for me. Ian was on the drinks in a second and went above and beyond to find a non alcohol beverage that wasn't a soft drink for my husband. He even asked advice from my self and my son (who works for Fenwick food and beverage) to find out all he could between low alcohol and no alcohol, which showed he is very passionate about his roll. Orders were taken swiftly (not everyone ordered from the special menu but it was incredibly well priced at less than £8 for 2 courses) and our food was delivered in good time, drinks were offered by a young man helping our table and he was super efficient and patient with us. Our food was lovely. Hot, fresh and tasty. No complaints at all. We had a slight mix up with a steak dish, Ian was completely transparent about the issue and had it rectified in record time. We were kept topped up and checked on regularly but not intrusive in the slightest. The restaurant is traditional, friendly and comfortable. As a group of 13, we were perfectly comfortable. The cost was at a few hundred pounds and we were more than happy with that. This was not my first visit. I have been with my sister and father for lunch a few times in quieter afternoons. We would never have known it was Saturday night at the busiest time, we were not rushed and felt very welcome. Ians service could not be falted. If I owned a restaurant, I would be happy to have him in a role as an instructor and mentor to team members. Thank you for a lovely night, we will definitely be using you again for family dinner!"

"Yo Sushi! What has happened to you?! We visited as a family during half term to make use of the kids eat free deal. On arrival we were told most of the hot food items weren't available due to supply issues. Edamame beans were unavailable...too which was part of the kid's meal starter... a very disappointing start. We had a very limited menu to choose from. We like looking at a menu but now sadly everything has to be done on your phone. Personally I find it very unsociable and rude seeing people glued to their phones in restaurants. Our phones stayed hidden at meal times and when we are together as a family. I despised the fact I had to sit there with my family using my phone to show them the menu and place our order. What sort of impression does this give to children? Bring back the paper menus and staff to take orders so families can enjoy their time together. The belt is of no use now so why isn't it turned off? This was the fun part of visiting Yo Sushi. Food is now brought out to the table rather than on the belt. The restaurant was absolutely freezing but probably due to the metro centre being cold. It made a very uncomfortable visit. Yo Sushi should think about using heaters as the booth we were sitting at was extremely cold. There are now no call buttons so if you need to get the attention of the waitress you either have to wait ages or go look for them. I had asked the waitress for some proper chopsticks for our children as they prefer these to the easy chopsticks, and also for another dish to put the soya sauce in as she had only given us one. Although she was very busy, she had forgotten so I had to leave my seat to find her and ask again. I am not sure why only one dish is given per family too. Before blaming covid, dipping dishes, wasabi, pickled ginger and soya sauce were available at hand to use. Now we can't blame covid here as the bottle of soya sauce is left out on the table anyway. Although the food was nice, the nigiri we purchased was messy. It appeared the sashimi had been ripped apart rather than cutting properly so the rice was covered in slithers of fish which fell apart. Finally, in a world of saving the planet and reducing plastic waste, why on earth have the water dispensers been removed from each table?! Now I have to purchase a drink in a plastic bottle! I hope these are reintroduced. We used to visit Yo Sushi almost every month before covid hit. I feel the changes made have ruined the experience of visiting Yo Sushi."
