"Do not recommend anyone go here. For a start everything is over priced for what you get. The food is very basic and whenever we've been to The Lakeside there has always been something wrong with the food. It's either been a steak that's still frozen in the middle, food has been burnt, we've been given the wrong order or something is missing from our order, the list goes on. Even the drinks are very expensive. It's by no means a city centre pub but they charge the same as a restaurant in the centre of Newcastle. It is so not worth what they charge you I'm afraid. To top it off, the staff have always been extremely rude to us, so we'll never be going back."

family friendly, dog friendly even when sitting near the bar. I was here when I lived close. I tried the vegan hot dog who was very nice, I also had the vegan curry stack that was delicious. the hot dog was tasty and of a good texture, both meals come with chips that are also good.

I was on the lakeside at many places, private functions Sunday lunch and pizzas etc. I have always looked around (I am vegan.) carl the manager is also vegan, so it is soothing when they order vegan eating it is what it is especially in private functions or when they go out of the pists with the menu

great atmosphere, nice pub with lots of space and a great selection of food and drinks. I had the hunters stack, a large boiled double chips, with huh, speck, cheese and ketchup. I couldn't eat anything! it was very tasty, that was mainly cooked abundantly and beautifully. they also have a great outdoor area, and what looks like a stage for outdoor events. parking is a little tight, but recommend reverse park View menu

Too many Geordie shore quality people in bar area but dinning area was nice and had a family feel to it. The staff were polite and professional, the service was prompt and the food tasted great and was great value for money. The beer garden and outdoor play area outdoor area could do with a good tidy and returfing. Overall a good and popular pub in the area that can accommodate events too. You might want to book a table as it seemed quite busy on a friday evening which is when we visited.

family, friendly and modern art bar / restaurant with beautiful exposed brickwork. we ordered the hot dog and vegan fry pile as part of the 2 for £15 mains deal. the hot dog was tasty and of a good texture with very good, twice cooked chips. the vegan roasted bowl, roasted on a plant basis, was disappointing, mushrooms, chips and Bbq sauce and nothing like what I expected. the filets were dry and the mushrooms were cut so thin and very little added to the shell. chips and sauce were good. to say that next time I wouldn't get.

"The place seems unprofessionally run. The staff all look like they could do with a bath. No overalls are worn and their clothes are all of the type that many would wear to lounge around the house in . Several have longer hair and beards but don’t wear any kitchen p.p.e. The decor is shabby and I wondered what kind of hygiene rating they would have. Although not busy, the staff seemed to be disorganised, falling over eachother and lacking in training. They seemed to handle the food in an inexperienced, clumsy fashion. The only tool I saw being used was a pizza peel for taking the pizza in and out of the oven. On all other occasions the food was handled. I didn’t notice any hand washing or alcohol gel in evidence. The menu is quite limited and uninspiring. 2 of the 6 pizza choices include chicken which Italians would argue is definite no no! All pizzas are reheated to order which eliminates the possibility of customisation. I don’t believe the restaurant would stand out in many European countries, as pizza in general is of a much higher standard than that in the UK. In spite of the above, The basic pizza is excellent in taste (even though it is all re-heated). And for this reason it is worth a visit. Compared to other uk pizza restaurants which are typically serving absolute garbage, the food is way out in front. If you can tolerate the negatives I’m sure you won’t be disappointed with the pizza. However with a bit of effort, this place could be transformed into something truly amazing."
