"Last night, we decided to have dinner here based on the trip advisor reviews. While the food itself was undeniably delicious, our overall experience was marred by the presence of inexperienced staff and a clear sense of being taken advantage of when it came to the drinks menu. Upon arrival, we were seated, and our orders were taken. Unfortunately, our first issue arose when we had to ask for water on three separate occasions before it was finally brought to our table. To make matters worse, they only brought still water despite our request for one still and one sparkling. Another disappointing aspect was the absence of garlic bread, which was supposed to accompany our meal. I had to personally inquire about its whereabouts, only to discover that it had not been included in the order. Regrettably, it arrived after we had already finished our pasta, leading to a disjointed dining experience. To rectify their mistakes, our waitress kindly promised to remove the drinks from our bill as an apology. However, when the bill arrived, it was evident that she had only taken off the cost of the garlic bread. This discrepancy in the bill left us feeling as though we had been taken advantage of. Adding to our sense of being ripped off, the issue with the wine selection was the most shocking of all. Since we were not provided with a wine list, I simply asked for a bottle of the house red. To our surprise, when the bill arrived, we discovered that the house red wine had been charged at a staggering £33! Subsequently, when we visited the bar area, we noticed several bottles priced at £22.50. We approached the bar to question the exorbitant charge and were informed that the £33 bottle was indeed their designated house wine for meals. This experience left us feeling thoroughly disappointed and deceived. It is essential for future patrons to exercise caution and specifically ask for a wine list, as well as be explicit about their wine preferences to avoid feeling ripped off. The inconsistency in pricing and lack of transparency regarding the house wine left us questioning the integrity of their service. While the food itself was commendable, the untrained staff and the apparent overcharging for drinks tarnished what could have been an enjoyable dining experience. We hope that the restaurant takes our feedback constructively and takes steps to address these concerns to provide a better overall experience for future customers."

"This is a cozy place for a drink on a cold winter's day, but I wouldn't eat here again. I had their weekend lunchtime meal deal which is pretentiously overpriced for plain or poor quality food. The mains were plain, not worth a return visit for, but at least the portion sizes were good. However, it's the quality of the starter and dessert that really let the meal down. I've had carrot coriander in quite a few different places by now, but never had one with a flavour this strange and jarring. It was inedible and only ate the roll. The waitress who collected our plates must have noticed the bowl full of soup left behind, but said nor asked nothing about it. My impression is that is must have not been the first time she's seen this and didn't want to get into why it was left like that. I don't blame her. Their leek potato was also really bland and flavourless, and not an advisable alternative. The quality was so poor that I assume they must buy in really cheap tinned soup from a catering supplier. Come on people! Making good quality, homemade soup is really not difficult! The brownie I had for dessert....seemed to have been made by someone who doesn't really understand what a brownie is. The joy of brownies are that they are richer and squishier than cake. However, the brownie I had was risen quite a bit, indicating too much time in the over maybe or two much raising agents, was much closer to dense cake. There wasn't anything soft or moist about it. It wasn't good in flavour either pretty bland really. This is something you find when a producer is trying to lower production cost as much as possible they cut back on the cocoa powder as it's more expensive than flour, or they use the cheapest stuff possible which gives food a chocolate custard type of flavour. Also why does this place have a taxidermied tarantula in a box on the wall?? So strange!! Of all the things you might want people to see when they're eating, I'd say that isn't one of them! I wondered if it had been left behind as a Halloween decoration or something."

"I can't believe I haven't reviewed Fu's as I've been quite a few times. we actually celebrated my daughter's 12th birthday party there last September and I could'nt fault them. The experience we had last week was just the same. We had booked for a large party weeks in advance last day of school celebrations we had phoned quite a few times changing the reservation but they didn't mind at all and were always pleasant on the phone. We were a party of eleven and e had one of the large circular tables to eat on which is great beacuse everyone can be part of the same conversation and sharing dishes is much easier. The service is always spot on. The orders are taken quickly, drinks are served nearly immediately after ordering and the food comes out all freshly prepared, hot and delicious. I'm not very adventorous and tend to order the same thing, but our party ordered various dishes and no one had a word of complaint. The waitresses would pop over every now and then to check if we neded more drinks etc. There is a wide range of drinks available on the menu. The food and drinks are reasonably priced and there is a huge menu to choose from that would suit all dietary requirements. You can also ask for dishes not to include certain ingredients for instance one of our party wanted no onions in the chicken curry. There are also a range of banquet set meals to choose from. The nice thing about Fu's that I always appreciate is , they never try to hurry you away after you have finished. You can take your time to have another drink, let your food settle before leaving. if you are a large party it is worth noting that you cannot pay your bill sperately, you will be given a copy of the order and can work ut how much you owe this way. This means everyone seated at the table ha to be ready to pay at the same time this is not a problem at all but worth knowing in advance perhaps. The restraunt/ bar/ toilets are very clean . I acnnot fault Fu's the food and staff are excellent. Many thanks."
