"My friend and I ordered from Ochi via Deliveroo for dinner on a Saturday night. I chose the brown stew chicken with rice and peas, while she opted for curry chicken with plain rice. We also shared a side of roti skins. Our food arrived on time and was still hot, thanks to the tightly wrapped packaging. The portions of meat and rice were generous. The brown stew chicken had a dark, sticky glaze and was tender and flavorful. The rice and peas were light and fluffy with a good amount of kidney beans and the fried plantain added a nice touch.
My friend was pleasantly surprised to find that she had been given curry goat instead of curry chicken, but she enjoyed it nonetheless. The roti skins were light and airy, although they could have benefitted from some sauce to dip them in. For dessert, we indulged in a tub of Ben & Jerry's chocolate fudge brownie ice cream, which arrived frozen and delicious.
Overall, the meal of two meat dishes, two rices, two portions of roti, and a tub of ice cream was a good value for the quality and portion sizes we received. Despite the challenges of lockdown, online food delivery services allowed us to explore new restaurants, and I was pleased to have discovered Ochi."
