"I was allowed to enjoy a pan carving yesterday with cooking cheese and roast potatoes and must say that the carving was perfect! The Panade was beautifully lifted off the Scavenger, it was pink and the Scavenger beautifully juicy. The (safely self-made) cooking cheese was served separately so that the panade remained well crispy until the end. ****! The roast potatoes were roasted with bacon, a completely successful meal at a fair price. Another friendly service. An absolute recommendation, thank you and certainly until soon!"

"We ate here because the place where we wanted to dine was full and they sent us here as it is their sister restaurant. It was a Sunday evening so our choices were limited and we were happy to find a place for dinner. However...we were very disappointed in the food and our waiter. The food was merely mediocre. The waiter was inattentive, abrupt and rude when he did appear and to make matters worse I gasped when he poured wine into my half full water glass. He said he would replace the wine but we had to remind him after waiting a long time for my wine. If I made a mistake of that magnitude I certainly would have taken care of it immediately and probably offered a complimentary glass as an apology for sloppy service!"

"I went there with my family on a week day evening. Food is very average and highly priced. I do not recommend this restaurant. Beer selection was terrible beers on tab and some bottled beer. No Italian beer. Bread served was cold and...stale. Definitely not freshly made or self made. Main dish portion was quite small. We had swordfish. We received small pieces of fish, a few grilled vegetables and small salad. it costed euro. Beer and pizza prices were normal. Garden sitting was ok. Sitting was not very comfortable. Metal chairs and big very average looking tables. Parking limited"

"I had been in this restaurant a couple of years ago and was not impressed but to read the beautiful reviews I thought I would give it another try. I was disappointed again. eating was okay, but overpressed. but I have rarely experienced it. an unfriendly and careless service! the waiters did not even try to appear friendly and eventually ignored us completely. I would even have been willing to overlook this when eating was exceptional, but it was really not. I am based in heidelberg and think there are many Italian restaurants that offer much better eating, service and ambiente. we are not going back."

"Really nice place to have lunch. and maybe dinner as well. I visited this place for lunch. Very cozy atmosphere and friendly service. plat de jour is always changing and is offered between 11:30 14:00 every day. Prices are really reasonable and dishes taste fine. I had 3 course plat de jour together with 2 weissbier and I paid 23 eur. reccommend to try."

"Great traditional restaurant with tasty German cuisine and ECHTEM Service! We were here for three on Saturday night. Book it! The restaurant is very nice and tastefully decorated, relatively dark/satisfactory and very clean. The atmosphere is very cozy and creates a pleasant feeling. We were guided to the table by a very nice, competent, young men and then served great by mainly a young very friendly service. It was asked several times if everything would fit and whether the food would taste. Occasionally smalltalk existed above although very busy operation prevailed. The beer is excellent and is served from 0.5L in the Steinkrug. The food was relatively fast and was just as impeccable, very tasty! As a dessert there were Kaiserschmarn, who was not suitable for original Austrian but nevertheless good. Thanks for a nice evening and the WIRKLICH great service, which has unfortunately become rarity nowadays. Absolute recommendation!"

"Als langjährige Gäste des Lokals (viele Besuche und Familienfeiern) haben mein Lebensgefährte und ich heute um ca, 17:45 versucht , im leeren Hof (auf zwei Tischen stand ein Reservierungsschild) eine kleine Mahlzeit zu uns zu nehmen. Wir haben uns erlaubt, an einem kleinen Zweiertisch ohne Kennzeichnung Platz zu nehmen. Sofort wurden wir weggeschickt mit dem Hinweis, alle Tische seien ab 18:00 Uhr reserviert. Nach einem Abendessen in einem anderen Restaurant in Handschuhsheim, das fast voll besetzt war, und wo man sich freundlicherweise bemüht hat uns noch Plätze anzubieten, was auch gelungen war, sind wir wieder auf dem Heimweg am Ritter vorbeigekommen, ein paar Tische, auch der von uns gewählte, waren immer noch frei........... GASTFREUNDSCHAFT????????? Eventuell auch ökonomisch nicht ganz clever..... Jetzt kommen wir nicht mehr Karin Gissmann und Dr. Udo Kuhne Biethsstr. 18 69121 Heidelberg"

"The Unter Freunde is located in a side street of the main road (walking zone) of Heidelberg. No secret tip, because it's always good. We order two pizzas to take away. Wait until the order counter from here 10 minutes if you want to write it like a leisure park. The young woman behind this counter is in stress, but does her thing well. We choose 1x the pizza salami and 1x the pizza Hokkaido honey. For 8,90€ and 10,90€ absolutely ok. There are still ones with Datteln-Gorgonzola. With Pecorino cheese. And of course in Heidelberg much vegetarian. After 15 minutes, the pizza will be handed over. The size of the pizza is medium, but of good consistency. Thick edge, but flat ground. Well occupied and cut into 4 quarters. The Hokkaido honey is not too sweet, fits well together."

"after visiting nomad in newhome at least 20 times at different days, I would say that I can finally rate the caffe. regarding a coffee shop I would say it is one of the best in the city, not only do they offer many different possibilities that they can get coffee roast if they want to drink the same coffee home, they can buy bags of their buoys. they also have different sorts of milk and military kit if they want it with their coffee. from there, if they do not drink coffee, they also offer options for tees, hot chocolate and other drinks such as smoothies. for this review, I go about the meal I had on Saturday for brunch. we had no reservations, but we could get a table within 10 minutes as it was a busy day, but the caffe could serve people quickly and effortlessly. I ordered the latte and my wife to drink a chai tea. I really enjoy the coffee served at nomad, as they really know how to brew his coffee. the chai tea of my wife was excellent and this comes from our experience to go india and know how real chai tea tastes. from there I will go over the meal we have eaten. I command the blt that reminds me of the sandwiches that my mother has made for me, but my mother has never done eggs and also does nomad. the speck was fresh and crispy as I like it, and the pesto sauce was excellent. my wife order chocolate date that was in the ground like a smoothie bowl, I'm sorry to simplify it to something that might not be it, but so I would describe it. the price of the meal is more than what they would pay for a normal bakery, but they can say that eating is done with love and an environmentally friendly thought process. for the English speakers out there it is also very English friendly situation."

"today we were spontaneously there because 12 vegan ice cream varieties were advertised from outside. the waffels here are vegan and there are even edible spoons for 0.10€, which has not tasted particularly good (but not particularly bad). the ice is super tasty. various fruit varieties such as lemon, mango, maracuja or strawberry, but also other varieties which are otherwise known as milcheis. these are made here with mandible milk. we had pistacia, hazelnuts and dark chocolate. all three sorts have tasted us super good. in pasta-eis, however, we would also like to be pistachios. hazelnuts and chocolate tasted very full-bodied and creamy, like “normal” ice. Overall we were very satisfied and could enjoy the ice. a ball is not on the favorable side of life with 1.40€."

"We arrived on a Sunday around pm after a very long day of traveling with no reservations. We saw many reserved tables, but were seated at a nice table for the of us. The interior is very cozy and charming. Dennis was our...server, nice guy, spoke English so well we couldn't believe he was from Heidelberg. He was very friendly to the old people us, and helped us with recommendations for the food and wine. We had the pork knuckle and the Hausgemachte Maultasche large ravioli Swabian style. My wife also had a side of red cabbage, she loves red cabbage. We were starved, we realized that we had not eaten for hours except for a breakfast roll on the plane. We devoured most of the delicious food and wine a little embarrassing. The portions we so big we could not finish them. We really wanted to have their Apple Strudel. So we asked if it was ok to come back in one of the following afternoons to have with a couple of coffee drinks. We were so glad we did. Do yourself a favor and have one. The presentation and taste can't be beat"

"While walking through downtown Heidelberg, my son and I discovered this restaurant. Although we didn't have a reservation, we were able to get a table because we arrived before the dinner rush hour. We were fortunate to get the only authentic African table at the...restaurant! We were thrilled at the possibility of eating our meal the same way families eat in Ethiopia. We chose their mixed meat and vegetable sampling plate "probierteller). The toppins were served over their typical flat bread and as you guessed, it was to be eaten with the hands! My son drank an African beer while I opted for tea. The service was excellent! The food was incredible good. This plate was huge so it is recommendable to go there with plenty of time and very hungry. PS: The pics below give you an idea of the size of the plate and how it looked after we were done eating. A must go when visiting Heidelberg!"

"Veltter’s has the best Schweinshaxe in Heildelberger. The restaurant is very typical German, here you will find the most popular german dishes such as Schweinshaxe, tiroler, rostbratwürstchen, schnitzel.... service is amazing, you won’t have to wait to be seated and to get a beer to...your table. The beers are brewed in house which make even more special. Price is great for the portions you will get and what I love the most the building is old and the deco is very traditional. Also to acknowledge the reviews below I am not sure how you would wait minutes for a menu as all the menus are layout on every table. I give out I would definitely recommend the place."

"Die Kartoffelsuppe war fad und enthielt anfangs keinen Speck, obwohl dieser in der Karte ausgewiesen war. Nach unserer Beschwerde wurde er nachgeliefert, also sei es verziehen. Dass die Bedienung dann aber den Löffel (oder einen neuen) nicht wieder mitgebracht hat, sodass ein Weiteressen nicht möglich war, zeugt von mangelnder Aufmerksamkeit. Auch, dass mein Eis erst 10 Minuten nach Bestellung kam und dann halb geschmolzen in seiner eigenen Flüssigkeit schwamm, fand ich nicht so lecker. Die Pizza war OK und man sitzt wirklich schön unter alten Bäumen im Schatten."

"looks very authentic Italian! was a few times there because it is close and quick to reach. driving by car is critical, however, in the loadingburgerstraße there are rarely free parking spaces. you can eat inexpensive, especially pizza, but there are also delicious larger dishes and good Italian wine. in summer there are also some tables outside, so to speak on the pavement. the outer walls are almost completely occupied by large windows which allow air in the summer and at least light in the winter."

"We were passing through Heidelberg on Dec just checking out the Schloss and the old town, when we noticed this small cafe. Not so many other places were open, and this place looked nice and cosy. They serve small snacks, hot and cold drinks...and a very nice espresso, which is the main reason we went in in the first place. The atmosphere is very nice, deco is old style check out the great floor tiles and staff is super friendly. Highly recommended"

"we wanted to eat Italian again and went spontaneously to the taormina. what we liked was the openness and friendliness of the owner. we've been filling ourselves like on sicily. we did not look into the map but asked if he had fresh fish. he has recommended us dorade and hard fish on Sicilian art, with homemade noodles and sweets. as an appetizer Italian plate. we got warm pizza bread. everything together was an experience. for 2 hours we've been filled like on sicily. we are thrilled and go again today we recommend taormina in any case. on the house there was seblstmade ice cream.Also very tasty."
