"I'm an optimist, so I went with the positive reviews, and ignored the multiple reviews warning of terrible service. Mistake. The food was good, but the prices are quite high, and the service was indeed so unpleasant that it was quite stressful for my wife. The woman serving us was abrupt, cold, responded unhelpfully and even rudely to a request for advice about the menu. We felt that once she pegged us as American tourists (which of course didn't take long), she just wanted our money and as little interaction as possible. My wife worked hard at being friendly, and by the end of the meal the waitress had become civil . . . but you should have to work hard for that!If you don't enjoy interacting with visitors from around the world, you shouldn't be in a service business in one of the world's oldest tourist towns!Want authentic Swiss specials in a pleasant setting? Drive 10 minutes to Lauterbrunnen, and try one of the hotel restaurants with terrace seating there. You won't regret it."
