"Babar Elephant Morecambe Road Lancaster/Morecambe LA1 5JB Tel: 01524 388670 Date of Visit: 17th January 2024. Here we are, to my mind the best Indian restaurants for miles around, The Babar Indian at Morecambe. A member of the Elephant group. This very comfortable 100 0r more seater is a treat to be eating in. Wednesday night and it was busy. Spotlessly clean, not a fingerprint to be found on the glass panels that divide the spaces. spacious, comfortable and it has just undergone a make over with a new lick of paint. The service is spot on. Arosh and his team run a well-oiled engine here. Smiling, helpful and happy to serve you. And of course, it would be nothing if it was not for the food which seems to get better and better, Poppadom’s with a generous pickle tray, Sheek Kebabs, hot, perfectly spiced and so tasty, Chicken Naga-Naga Soft succulent chunks of fresh chicken in a tasty spicey Naga sauce. A light fluffy pilau rice and the freshest of Peshwari naan’s All washed down with a nice cold pint of Cobra. It’s a bit top drawer for prices, but hey, if you want to dine in comfort you have to delve deep into the pocket, having said that £36.50 was not too much to ask for the quality you get here. A large car park right outside, next door to the ALDI. This place ticks all the boxes and has done for a long time, of course, there will always be someone who cannot be pleased but I would think that they are few and far apart. So, it’s a solid 10/10 from me."

"Went to Aspect this evening for a drink with my husband. We decided to stay for a meal and both ordered pizzas. When they came, the waitress she said ‘pepperoni?’I said my husband has ordered salami and she said ‘yeah salami’. She then said ‘mushroom and summat!’ I had ordered mushroom, roasted peppers and rocket. Mushroom and ham wasn’t on the menu but the summat that the waitress was referring to was ham! She took the pizza back. No apologies. My husband had to ask her to take his away and bring it back when mine was ready so we could eat together. Whilst all this was happening, the background music was trance music. Totally inappropriate for the age of the clientele who were in there. My husband asked a waitress if there was some other background music. She asked the manager and he/she said they couldn’t turn the music off. We said that we didn’t ask for it to be turned off, we just asked if there was an alternative. At one point though, the music changed and it was great for 2 minutes and then it went back to trance music again! When we were going, a lovely waitress came to take our plates. We mentioned about the music and she said that she had changed the music only for the manager to change it back again. I said that he/she needs to look at the age of the people in the bistro as I would say the average age was about 50 to 60. A lady on the table behind, stood up and said to the waitress that the customer is definitely right! Really disappointed that the manager didn’t apologise for the issue with the pizza. Also disappointed that he/she didn’t acknowledge our comments about the music and totally dismissed everything that we had said. To be honest they never showed their face at all. The food was nice and one lovely waitress but some of the staff/management need to brush up on their customer service skills!"
