"Small seating area was very full when we arrived at 8pm without a reservation (a sign that the food would be good), and we were greeted in a friendly manner and asked to wait at the bar for 4-5 minutes as a table would be...open soon. Our orders were taken quickly after seating and the excellent pizza was served in less than 10 minutes. It has earned and deserves its good reputation and rating."

"We went to Pinte Besson specifically for the fondue, based primarily on TripAdvisor reviews. It was a good choice, because we really wanted a traditional fondue experience before leaving Switzerland, and this place delivers the tradition. The restaurant dates from around 1790, and it looks it on the inside. Fondue is only served on the ground floor of the restaurant due to the rickety old stairs that leads to the second floor, and when you see the stairs you will know why. No one should risk climbing up what is basically a ladder with a pot of molten cheese. Anyway, the atmosphere is great, and there is a very cool brick archway that comprises much of the ceiling. The fondue was very flavorful. We had bread, potatoes, and onions for dipping into the cheese. We didn't know that groups of four typically only order fondue for two, so we had a ton if cheese we couldn't finish. If you go there for fondue, count the members of your group and divide by two when ordering or you will be swimming in cheese. As we only ordered fondue, I cannot comment on the other menu items.The staff was very nice and patient with us English language speakers. One waitress spoke excellent English and joked around with us a bit. We dressed up a little to go to dinner, but that was definitely not necessary. It's a very casual place. There is no air conditioning, and it was really quite warm in there, which was pretty uncomfortable. It's 24 CH per person for fondue, which I found to be appropriate for what you get. Don't hesitate to try Pinte Besson if you want some traditional Swiss food."

"Nous avions prévu un business lunch pour 4, dont une personne dont le physique est certes peu connu, mais qui a reçu un César et a été nominé aux oscars, bref un VIP. Sachant cela et comme ce dont nous voulions discuter était confidentiel, j'avais pris soin de réserver plusieurs semaines à l'avance en demandant une table tranquille et un peu à l'écart. Nous sommes arrivés suffisamment à l'avance pour préparer notre entretien avec cette personne et on nous attribue une table au beau milieu des autres, dans le passage ... Je demande à changer de table en expliquant ma demande, sans trop de détails à l'un des serveurs (en costume) - il m'a dit qu'il voulait voir avec son chef. Une demi-heure plus tard, n'ayant aucune nouvelles je relance l'un des autres serveurs ( le précédent ayant disparu des radars) on me propose une table, à l'écart cette fois-ci, une petit table carrée car les tables rondes n'étaient pas disponible m'a t'on dit. OK, on s'installe. Je précise que 45 minutes avaient passé et que personne ne nous a demandé si nous voulions boire quelque chose ... La table était dressée pour deux et non pas pour 4 ... 15 minutes plus tard, à quelques minutes de l'heure de notre rendez-vous, nous avons attrapé un 3ème serveur (qui lui était simplement en chemise blanche et sans veste) et lui avons demandé si nous pouvions boire quelque chose et en avons profité pour demandé qu'ils préparent la table pour 4, ce qui a été fait quelques très rapidement, ouf ! Puis nous avons mangé, nourriture très bonne soit dit en passant. Au moment de payer nous avons également du nous battre, tout d'abord pour obtenir l'addition puis pour qu'on nous amène la machine car nous voulions payer par carte. Bref, nous sommes les 4 arrivés à la même conclusion : plus de Café Beau-Rivage pour nous, la qualité des plats n'étant pas suffisante pour compenser l'incompétence du personnel de salle. Dommage, on est quand même dans un 5* - vous trouvez ça normal vous ? moi pas !"

"We booked to eat la chasse three weeks in advance (for a Tuesday) and it was worth the wait . We feasted ! Taking it on a plate, we have two services with different toppings. No need for a starter or dessert (even though we are big eaters). Place more than recommended!"

"I would 100% recommend this restaurant to anyone! Small gem next to the Lausanne's Cathedral.The service is very kind, maybe you can wait 5-10 minutes because the owner is serving alone the tables, but the quality of the food definitely worths waiting. We had a very particular and tasty salad, followed by probably the best fagottini I've ever tried. They were fagottini with tartufo and safran sauce with slices of Prosciutto crudo, the combination was fantastic.The price is fair for Swiss stardard, and especially if related to the quality of the dishes.I am more than happy to come back to this restaurant, and I will for sure!"

"I’ve been going to the Nil Bleu for more than 10 years and I’ve always enjoyed their food and friendly service. It feels a bit like being at home at a friend’s. Their new location is smaller but very cozy, and the upper dining room is super pleasant. I love that you can say « vegan and gluten-free » and they know what you mean. Better yet, that’s what their traditional food is all about. If you like it spicy, mention it when ordering."

"I ate here because of the à la carte patisserie and as a sweet tooth I got my money's worth! The patisserie was so accurate, every dessert was a surprise and also tasted great. So many highlights: The signature dessert in white was actually a great millefeuille, a real vanilla bomb! The strawberry dessert hid, among other things, the best rice pudding ever. And the meringue with coffee was unbeatable. The patisserie demonstrated a very high level of conceptual and craftsmanship, chapeau! The location is also beautiful, you can enjoy the appetizers on the terrace. The service was also perfect, very friendly and attentive."

"Very small place reservation essential and a bit elbow to elbow. Service was first class and the food was excellent. Very fresh, properly prepared, decent selection of fish (some of which was not on the menu, but available as a kind of “daily catch” . Was persuaded to try unfiltered sake, which I had never had before (despite having lived in Japan and I do NOT recommend it. Their standard cold dry sake was perfectly good, unfiltered was milky and sweet, not nice at all. But otherwise, nice restaurant, good food and service, will go again."

"Warm welcome, nice open and clean dining area, interesting 'build your own' concept with great range of toppings, very quick service for the 6 of us. One of the best pizzas I've had. Whole group felt the same. Highly recommended. It's a very long walk from the Olympic museum! But certainly builds a good appetite!! And worth the walk if your training budding olympians!!!"

"My family and I spent a pleasant and quiet evening at this restaurant. The decoration and atmosphere were conducive to relaxation and tasting, giving the impression of being elsewhere. The service was also excellent. As a home cook, I have to admit to eating well. I chose the Lamb Tagine with Prunes, while my company opted for the Lamb Tagine with Artichokes with Couscous, and both dishes were excellent. I was even able to have my tea only with mint, because green tea disrupts my sleep. At other places, asking for just mint often gets strange looks, but here the lady even suggested it to me! This restaurant is highly recommended!"

"Grilled raviolis that are clearly homemade, delicious and perfectly cooked to have a crispy bottom. Chicken with cumin that is light, tender and subtly flavored (not overwhelming like when I make lamb with cumin at home). Even their hot chili oil was notable, having almost a chili paste with oil and tiny sessame seeds. Pleasant, considerate yet professional service. I plan to return, but with more people so we can enjoy a larger sampling of the menu."

Die Lage ist zwar ein bisschen weit vom Stadtzentrum entfernt, aber in felsiger Entfernung von den Marken und der Notre Dame obwohl man sehr starke Schultern haben müsste .Ich und mein Freund wurden von einem herzlichen Empfang begrüßt, als wir dort ankamen, der Besitzer war so nett und das Essen war wunderbar gelinde gesagt. Wir bestellten einen Gratin und eine Pasta, beide waren ausgezeichnet, und wir bekamen sogar ein paar Desserts umsonst, nachdem wir fertig gegessen hatten. Die Nachspeisen waren genauso ausgezeichnet und der Besitzer kam gelegentlich vorbei, um sich mit uns zu unterhalten, was alles nur so viel besser machte.Insgesamt war dies eine der seltenen Erfahrungen, bei denen man von Grund auf das Gefühl bekommt, dass gutes Essen das Leben so viel besser macht und der gesamten Atmosphäre einen schönen Hauch von Musik verleiht, so dass Sie eine Wärme haben, die lange anhält Das Essen selbst ist weg. "Nous nous sommes rendus dans ce restaurant lundi soir pour notre souper de boîte, nous avons très bien été accueillis par le personnel. Tout d’abord nous avons débuté par un apéritif puis par la suite nous avions une jolie table dressée dans la salle de conférence. Le repas a débuté avec des amuses-bouches qui nous ont mis l’eau à la bouche pour continuer avec l’opéra de foie gras et en plat principal un cœur de filet de bœuf au four. En dessert nous avons eu un mont-blanc croustillant crémeux au marron. Les assiettes étaient délicatement dressées et bien garnies. Pour les plus gourmands il y avait des mignardises et thé/café. Nous avons été très satisfaits et je reviendrais certainement avec des amis. Le chef est venu nous saluer à la fin du repas. Veuillez noter que le restaurant est ouvert tous les midis 7 jours sur 7 mais pas le soir."

"We really liked the food there! To be honest at first glance, the place did not look out, as it had a culinary pleasure... We just ended there because of the fork app. But what a surprise we have! Fabulous salmon star and entrecote, excellent tiramisu and chocolate fondant to name some. We were only a few days in Lausanne, but were able to dine twice at the Sidewalk Café. We'll return when we get back to town."

"A perfect culinary experience combined with a very warm welcome. Being a South American myself, I randomly stopped in front of this little fast food restaurant and was able to taste a spicy marinated chicken burrito. The team prepares the burrito directly on site with only fresh food and original recipes from Latin America. I was expecting a fairly basic dish but surprisingly I was able to enjoy a good dish with Latin flavors. Plus the quantity is perfect, neither too much nor too little. I leave there more than satisfied with my culinary experience. I was also able to chat with the cook and you can feel the passion for cooking when he talks about recipes and knowledge. Making a detour to this little fast food is clearly worth it. Both in terms of price and in terms of quality."

"Awful attitude from "new owners" not wanting to honour vouchers already sold to clients. I was told very rudely that the vouchers I had bought several months prior were not valid and it was down to me to get a refund. Complete lack of professionalism and why bother losing a valued customer for something so small? Food looks overpriced anyway and if this is the type of treatment you get over the phone God knows what you'd get at the restaurant. Typical Swiss attitude."
