"We had a fantastic lunch here to celebrate a birthday. We were made to feel really special from the moment we entered to the moment we left even though they were very busy. The food was first class, some of the best fish dishes we have ever tasted. Top quality produce served with flair and finesse. Expect to pay at least double in London for this quality. All staff were on the same page, helpful, aware, happy and knowledgeable. A real treat."

"We have eaten here for at least 16 years or more on our frequent visits to Suffolk. The food is superb and innovative and far surpasses some Michelin restaurants we have eaten at. I require gluten and dairy free food and they always go the extra mile to ensure everything is fine for me. What impresses is that they offer at least 3 desserts catering for my dietary requiements and they are always different and unique. In most places I just get offered vegan ice cream or sorbet we think that the prices charged are very reasonable when you consider the time, the best ingredients and presentation involved. The staff are always very pleasant and helpful. We think it's the best value restaurant in Suffolk."

"The Brewers set lunch menu is extraordinary value. Three beautiful courses for £25 is just brilliant once you know the quality of the food. The menu is ever evolving. We love that. There are usually favourites steak, burger, fish. But then there are seasonal surprises. This time I had a seat pudding which was exquisite full of rich flavours, delicate, immersed in a beautiful gravy. As veterans of the Brewers, we've loved seeing not just the evolution of the food (away from some of its over foodie obsessed predecessor chefs to something much more rooted in local produce and simple presentation. But we've loved seeing something else the superb service by Emma and Jess, understated, attentive, personal but not intrusive. They make the journey to Rattlesden well worth making. Regulars will know that I've reviewed the Brewers before. Yesterday was our umpteenth visit. And it was utterly perfect. Thanks to all the team who make this aspirational village pub/restaurant such a treat to visit. Oh, and border terrier Molly B loves it too. She's now part of the furniture."

"we have now stopped at this place twice. for the first time, eating was very good, but the staff was rude and unwilling. I thought my assessment was unjust, so I returned and the employees and the hire were a million times worse at the second visit. it was quite clear that they had stopped serving food, why they didn't just say that. they have a waitress that is aloof and rude. they did not labor to tell us what food was available and were uninterested when we asked about what they have. several options have not been served anymore. it was clear that they prefer to serve locals, and I wouldn't advise anyone to go there. it is clear that they only want a certain client in their caffe."

"we haven't been with shepherd and dog for a while. we had visited friends and decided to try again. we were a table of four, we ordered our food and waited, and waited and waited. there were two empty tables close by, which were occupied after a few minutes. after some considerable time, both tables were served by us. we complained to the waitress and she went to the kitchen and came back and told us that the reason why the other tables were served first was one of the tables their appetizers had been served and the other table had cold food. I can fully understand the starter scenario, but I am not sure that lasagne and chips are classified as cold eating, although it was a “side salat. After minutes, two of our plates arrived, but we had to wait five minutes for the other two. unnecessary to say we will not be back in a hurry"

"We moved to the area late last year and have since had many takeaway and eat in Pizzas. The quality of the woodfired pizza is fantastic and although I'm not particularly a pizza fan I just can't resist eating them; especially the quattro 4 cheese pizza. It's not just the food we love. The pub is so friendly and has an amazing atmosphere. The staff are extremely friendly and the owner, Chris even runs cycling evenings during the summer months on a Wednesday. These are great fun and then it's back to the pub for pizza and drinks. The Greyhound is a great village pub with great ales on tap. It's very clean and tastefully decorated and well worth a visit. Everything is very reasonably priced too."

"Well what can I say went to The Kings Arms Haughley which is under new management for the first time for,Sunday lunch the food was excellent not joking. We started with the classic prawn cocktail let's just say they don't scrimp on the prawns it was wonderful followed by roast lamb which was cooked to perfection with all the trimmings,ending with cherry and rhubarb franzipan the Landlord and Landlady Paul and Debbie deserve all the success that is sure to come their way . "Decor and food was good.However food portion sizes were small.Service could have also been a bit better. As we had to prompt them for the courtesy bread and butter. "We made a same-day reservation with no issues and had a choice of tables when we arrived. The staff was friendly and polite, and they were able to accommodate our children by adding baked beans to the fish finger wrap. The portions were large and we couldn't even fit in dessert! The steak burger was tasty, but a bit pricey considering it didn't include bacon and cheese. There was a bit of a wait for our food and the bill took a while to arrive, so we ended up going to the bar to pay. It was a busy lunch service, so we won't hold it against them. Overall, it was a pleasant family meal. Well done."

"Utterly fantastic food ,best carvery I've had for years .Staff very helpful ....doing the best they can in cramped conditions ...Table booked at 1.30 finally got seated at 2 20 ran out of time for afters (car park closes early on Sundays Shame for us and them as they lost the sale of 13 afters ! Feel sorry for the staff ...as I always try and give a fair review .It was utter chaos entering people everywhere juggling for seats .We expected it to be busy as it was Mother's Day .....but this was another level .The first course we had was fantastic ! Well done Chef and serving staff !"

"I booked via the White Horse’s website and within the day I had a personal booking confirmation email.We got there, shown to our table with menus by a professional young gentleman, who immediately took our drinks order. Drinks arrived swiftly.We ordered the ‘King Burger’ and the Chicken and Bacon Burger, we also ordered a side of onion rings.Our food came swiftly. It was very fresh, hot, tasty. Infact, the King Burger is amazing, proper home made chips, huge onion rings and coleslaw. It was seriously tasty.For our dessert we each had the Captain Morgan’s Spiced Rum and Raisin ice cream, again it was gorgeous.You cannot fault anything, from the email response right up to us leaving. The girls and guys working hard on the frontline are always polite, courteous and smiling. The whole package was superb. Thank you and as always we will return again very soon"

"We have visited this restaurant before and had an absolutely wonderful meal with excellent food and friendly service. The last visit was sadly a different experience.Why is there a problem?We returned for a Birthday dinner with the family. 5 persons in total including my two daughters aged 23 and 21. When ordering alcoholic drinks at the table to accompany the starters for our meal, the waitress asked for ID from my youngest daughter. Since she was not driving or paying she had not brought anything with her, not expecting to need anything. Now I accept that maybe not bringing ID was an oversight, but we were eating. The waitress pointed out a sign that was behind the bar that said If you look under 25 then we will ask for ID. Now I accept that in normal times when young people may be walking up to the bar and ID is required quite right. I did discuss this with the waitress, as my daughter was distressed. However we were eating and I did ask if it was OK, but the there was no change to the reply.I accept that people that are under 18 yrs can look older so appreciate the rules At the bar!The law is quite specific, It is not illegal:For someone over 18 to buy a child over 16 beer, wine or cider if they are eating a table meal together in licensed premises.For a child aged five to 16 to drink alcohol at home or on other private premises. Therefore on this occasion the age limit would be 16 in our company. To be under 16 and therefore illegal my daughter would have to be 15 yrs old. With no stretch of the imagination could she have been 15yrs old.I fully respect the law but this was very poor interpretation of a company rule, and misguided by referring to 18 yrs old. As a result my daughter did not want to eat initially. It completely ruined the atmosphere of a celebration. The meal cost almost £150 and I feel we had a very poor night out. I would ask the management to instruct their staff to use some common sense, and ensure that they know the age is 16 yrs for someone eating in the company of adults."

"Our party of 9 had a family meal yesterday Sunday and, having called in to have a Noodle bar meal a few days before, checked to find out how they could cope with two persons who would need advice as one Vegan and the other with Lactose intolerance, nothing containing tomatoes and no fresh fruit. Separate meals of ample a proportions and great selection provided especially for them and we had the usual Buffet choice which was great. Very caring and personal attention. Service not found too often but appreciated by us. Also compare prices with others, this is very reasonable. Speak as you find !!"

"Six of us went to the restaurant on Friday without a reservation and found that they were very busy. While we waited for a table to open up, we had drinks at the bar. We really enjoyed the food and the service was excellent. The staff were fantastic, always accommodating our needs. We couldn't find any faults and we will definitely be returning, especially because we can bring our own alcohol, which we didn't know before."

"If you want a tradition beef roast dinner don’t order here . everything tasted sweet and the Yorkshire was dried out to a crisp . The atmosphere is non existent and the music from the bar banging out is all you can hear . The acoustics of the restaurant are terrible and everything is loud . The young waitresses are polite enough but don’t wear appropriate clothing , cropped tops and bellies out is not really suitable for someone serving your dinner. We were the only two people in there for most of our meal and yet had 4 different people serve us and not one asked if everything was ok with our food . Iv really feel the whole set up is for your 18 to 30 age range and not really the place to go for a couples meal."

"I ordered a takeaway from this restaurant and I was very disappointed with the food. The chicken tikka biryani was simply tandoori chicken and a veg curry, not a proper biryani. The tikka masala was salty and flavourless, and the naan was dry and hard. The food was bland and not very nice. It may very well be a different experience inside the restaurant, but I would suggest avoiding this place for takeaway. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes authentic and tasty Indian food. I wasted my money and time on this takeaway and I won’t be trying them again. "We had a lovely warm welcome, waited a while for someone to come take our drink order, I ordered an ale, it tasted like it just turning. I had white bait for starters, It tasted very strong of the mud at deben River, needless to say I didn't eat it. I then ordered a coke to get rid of the taste wich tasted of water. I then complained, they were apologetic and had to change the syrup, then was better. I then had the 12oz ribeye, which looked like a 6oz which I couldn't eat due to being so hard to chew and a charcoal taste. I sent it back and waited for my partner to finish her processed meat roast and left very disappointed"

"We visited the Six Bells for fathers day with another family. Really good food, hardly any wait for the starters or kids food. The food was really nice between us we had every starter, and all was excellent. There was a good choice of ales and beers, and a selection for the younger kids (fruit shoot) and J2O for the older ones. Mains arrived in good time, again really nice hot tasty food. The kids commented on the quality of their chips, and for them to vocalise their thoughts is unheard of. We would definitely visit again. Very clean, COVID compliant restaurant, with fantastic friendly staff. This was our first post COVID meal out, and we weren't disappointed."

"Amazing Chinese. Definitely far better than either of the two Chinese takeaways in Needham! Satay chicken skewers are lovely, sweet and sour chicken balls are not too greasy. Only issue is the sweet and sour sauce which comes with the chicken balls. It tastes vile and is inedible it always has to go in the bin."

"we heard this place was beautiful and we had to try! we had a nice roasted, mushroom fountain with bratkartoffeln and veg. the children had nuggets and chips. they are very helpful and nice. we sat outside with our dogs so that it was practical that they are dog friendly! all reasonable and tasty, I really enjoyed this meal "
