"My wife and I travelled to Suffolk last month for the very first time. Our trip was off to a rocky start when our hotel informed us they were not serving food or opening their bar on the night of our arrival. We decided to walk down to The Greyhound to try their wood fired Pizzas. We were welcomed by a charming young woman who regretfully informed us that her kitchen was also closed that evening. She gave us a menu for a local takeaway, sat us down in a cosy restaurant and poured our drinks. My wife went to get our food and the young landlady neatly laid our table and lit a candle for us. After our meal we moved into the bar area which was packed to the rafters with smiling faces. The young woman was clearly rushed off her feet but was smiling and laughing with her customers all night long. Our visit to the Greyhound was one of the highlights of our trip to Suffolk, the sense of community was heart warming and we felt part of it although we were strangers."

Only a quick lunch time visit as part of a walk in the area but the pub ambiance was lovely (locals mainly I think) and very welcoming the food was basic but delicious and cheap!

I've used the takeaway service twice since the start of the second lockdown. Ham and mushroom pizza both times. You will have to try really hard to find a better pizza in Italy. I'm now hooked, well done the Greyhound.

Visited on a Saturday, nice atmosphere and pizzas were very good. Limited menu but something for everyone. Only negative comment would be that the menu is written on a blackboard on a wall which has a table in front of it so if customers are seated there it’s very hard and awkward to read. View menu

Been popping in here for a few years now and the food and beer is always excellent! Absolutely love the place, it has a nice old fashioned homely feel to the bar side to have a beer or five Definitely try and book in on a Tuesday as they do a free margarita when you buy another pizza so it's the best day to give it a go!

We moved to the area late last year and have since had many takeaway and eat in Pizzas. The quality of the woodfired pizza is fantastic and although I'm not particularly a pizza fan I just can't resist eating them; especially the quattro 4 cheese pizza. It's not just the food we love. The pub is so friendly and has an amazing atmosphere. The staff are extremely friendly and the owner, Chris even runs cycling evenings during the summer months on a Wednesday. These are great fun and then it's back to the pub for pizza and drinks. The Greyhound is a great village pub with great ales on tap. It's very clean and tastefully decorated and well worth a visit. Everything is very reasonably priced too...

"I love pubs! How many times do you hear that? I only properly discovered them 18 years ago because in France, although we have our cafes, they are nothing like pubs. I fairly quickly categorised them because when you think about it, they are all different. The best description for me for this one is a town pub full of character. I discovered it thanks to a friend and started going to hold a French Conservation group. I have only had drinks so far and believe me if you are after reasonable prices you have to go to the Gladstone. I have recently paid £2 in another place for a soda and lime. Here they charge you £0.30. And before you ask, no, it's not because it's served in a shot glass. When you enter the premises you will notice first the space. It has got room but you also can decide to sit in a smaller area. There is a fire place which is really nice especially at this time if the year. I went last Saturday to meet with a friend and we decided to have something to eat. If you want a night out but your are on restricted budget this is the place where to go. Ok the menu doesn't give you a massive choice as some do but in fact think about it, it won't take you too long to make your decision. The choice is good and the prices quite low. If you are vegetarian they certainly have thought about you. I am not but to be fair I've always wondered why the choices seem to be so restricted for those who are when eating out? I ended with the chilly beef and cheese. I like the fact you can choose to have it with rice or bread. The serving is good and I really enjoyed it. It was very tasty. The staffs work hard, are very pleasant and easy to interact with which is exactly what you want in a pub. It's a place with great atmosphere. And if you enjoy watching tv in a pub this is certainly the place where to go. It was a very reasonable and enjoyable night out. I'll be back!"
