"The only pub we could get a table for Sunday lunch on Fathers Day we took a chance (after reading some of the dreadful reviews) and booked. Sadly the poor reviews were correct. Split into two with an area for eating and a bar section it was surprisingly quiet for a Sunday afternoon which gave a rather flat atmosphere. I will say all of the staff we dealt with were exceptionally friendly and helpful so from the outset we felt welcomed and looked after. Sadly this was the only positive of the lunch. Four out of five of us ordered the roast beef, unusually for a pub, there was no wine list so when the order was taken our server reeled off a number of drinks we could order which was not ideal as we had no idea of price. When the meal arrived the beef was inedible it was so tough, the roast potatoes were so hard you couldn't get a knife through them and a rather dry Yorkshire pudding. Limited veg was served with the meal but the gravy was decent. The fifth diner ordered burger and chips and had no complaints. We did complain about the roasts and one meal was deducted. We were charged £18 a head for the beef roast my advice is save yourself some pennies and go to your local Toby!"

"I travel for business and stay in hotels weekly, but this was by far my worst experience. The room I was given was in a former stable block behind the hotel, which was dirty and dusty. I was exhausted and just wanted to sleep, but I soon discovered that the bed sheets were soaked in blood due to a bed bug infestation. I immediately went to reception to check out, but was told I would be charged for the full cost of the room unless they contacted the night manager. After hearing about the disgusting condition of my room, other guests and my colleague decided to leave as well. I made it clear that I would take legal action if they tried to charge me. After finding a new hotel and scrubbing myself clean, I spent a restless night trying to forget the experience. I now meticulously check every hotel room I stay in. I would not recommend the Royal Oak Hotel Sevenoaks to anyone, not even my dog."

"Walked in just after 9pm to be told rather curtly by the staff that the pub was closed. Have been going to this pub regularly on Christmas Eve before attending Carol's and midnight mass at the local church for a pre service pint. I understand that the pub is having some staffing issues at the moment, but to be told rudely that the bar was closed was not required or professional. Service: 1"

"Outstanding service. Food delicious. Mentioned it was my mums birthday and arrived to a table glittering with happy birthday glitter mum was given a silk stole after being sung to by the whole restaurant. Thank you Charlene for being super efficient and kind to my mum! Parking: Large car park behind the Stag Theatre and short pathway through to road beside the Sun Do. 2 minute walk. Service: Dine in"

"The Kings Arms is located in the central part of Westerham, in Market Square right on the High Street. The restaurant has both an internal room and external areas, equipped with tables and umbrellas that can be used on beautiful sunny days. It is the typical English pub, with tables, chairs and high wooden stools, where the locals meet to have a chat while drinking a beer. We decided to have lunch, ordering: 2 Sirloin accompanied by a black pepper sauce, fried potatoes, fried onion rings, tomato and vegetables. We also ordered an Amstel beer and a Cider. Good meat, especially if covered with black pepper sauce. The cider beer is also excellent! Prices in the local average. Nearby activities: The restaurant is in Market Square, the most central point of Westerham and therefore close to all the local commercial activities. Food drinks: Good value for money, at least for what we ordered."

"First visit (and last) . 3 of us early for a meeting so popped in here for lunch. Only us in here (apart from a gambler on slots). We waited 45 mins for our food because it was being “freshly cooked”. One of us had a meat pie which was ok. One had an omelette which was passable and I had a disgusting burger. The meat was awful and I could have broken a window with the bun. The chips were like greasy bullets. 3 x soft drinks and £38 bill. The worst thing was the toilet (gents) filthy and the whole pub was generally grubby and dusty. I believe there was a kitchen fire recently so I hope that’s all clean and new."

"We were looking for somewhere to have lunch and drove past The Bullfinch and it look like a nice place so we went around the tiny, busy roundabout and went back. I am glad we did as it is a great pub/restaurant which is beautifully decorated and great friendly staff. For lunch we sat outside on the deck and ordered a tasting sharing platter which was delicious. For dessert I had the Pimms jelly which was amazing. Our New Zealand waitress was lovely and helpful and the whole experience was great. We can thoroughly recommend The Bullfinch and will go back when we are in Sevenoaks next."

"We chose the Harrow Inn for my fathers wake as the cosy function room was ideal for our guests. Dave and Alison were amazing, so respectful and happy to accommodate any of our wishes. We weren't restricted to the function room and had the use of the atmospheric room too. They provided an array of finger food buffet foods; great range of sandwiches, mini pasties, sausage rolls, blinis, quiche, mini cakes etc which we and our guests enjoyed immensely. They even let us take home leftovers. My family and I cannot recommend this lovely hidden gem enough. Thankyou Dave and Alison"

"This restaurant appears to be permanently closed. A victim of the pandemic I expect. Name no longer over the door. Decided to pop in here on a busy Friday evening. I hadn't booked and hoped they could accommodate a table for one. I was happy to find that they could and even asked me if I'd prefer a table in the busy part of the restaurant or a quieter one. I opted for the latter hoping I'd not be forgotten in the quiet corner. I shouldn't have worried the young team on duty were friendly and very attentive. The food came in good time and was very tasty. The service was excellent, better by far than some other places I've been to locally."

"I have been a regular patron of this pub for over 50 years, although I don't visit very often. It is a lovely Kentish pub located in a picturesque village. On a chilly Tuesday night, I met up with three friends. We hadn't made a reservation, but luckily there was space for us near the fire. There were a few locals and one of them was playing music by The Rolling Stones. I like the Stones, but it was too loud to have a conversation. One of my friends politely asked the landlord to turn it down, which he did. However, as the night went on, the pub felt colder. Only one of the three open fires was burning at the far end of the room. My friend suggested we move closer to the fire as I was freezing. I even ended up giving away my warm parka to stay warm. By 9:30pm, we were the only ones left in the pub. It seemed like the logs in the fire were not burning properly. Despite the cold, we were enjoying ourselves and I went to the bar at 10:14pm to buy one last round of drinks, thinking that the pub might be closing soon. The beer and wine were both fine, but the atmosphere felt a bit lacking. I hope it was just an off night and that the pub will go back to its charming ways. It reminded me of the book "Bleak House" - full of memories from happier times in the past."
"It was a miserable day so dashed into the first place we saw which we assumed from the look of it was a run of the mill sandwich shop. Big mistake! Couldn't believe the prices! Over £10 for a Ciabatta! Finally found a toastie that was hidden on the blackboard menu, that was still over £6! We thought well perhaps it comes on sourdough with salad and crisps. Nope! Turned up plain bread and nothing else pretty average too not fancy by any means. So a plain toasted sandwich and a canned soft drink was over £10! Even in Central London it doesn't cost that much. The place was full though so obviously it appeals to some people who want to throw their money away......."

"I had visited this Mc Donald 's on Wednesday. I was waiting in the que for 15 minutes before I arrived at the drive through window. As I arrived a young lady at the window advised me that I needed to park up and wait for my food. I had advised the lady that I didnt want to park up as I had been waiting a long time already. The lady then proceeded to shout across to the kitchen, ' ' There is a lady who is refusing to park her car, can we hurry up with the Big Mac ' ' I told the lady that this was unnecessary and proceeded to park my vehicle in the car park. When my meal had arrived by a different member of staff, I then opened the Big Mac box and looked in the burger. Someone had taken a bite out of the meat in the burger and at that point I had gone back into the restaurant to ask for a refund. I was then approached by management who said that surely its not a bite, I had then advised if he had seen the burger, he replied no as another member of stuff had taken the burger away. I had then showed him the picture I had taken on my phone, he then proceeded to tilt his head down and wouldn 't or couldnt look at me or engage and proceeded to give me a refund with no apology. I think I am actually scarred by the matter as Mc Donald 's is one of my favourite fast food places to eat and I 'm so disappointed at the level of service and uncleanliness of the restaurant. I also visit this restaurant a lot, as it is next to where i work. This is the first time this has ever happened to me, but my work colleague advised that she has also experienced similar experiences at this branch. This could have been cross contamination if I had eaten that burger"

"We were invited for a cream tea last week by dear friends at the Prestigious Penshurst Place... what a disappointment. Coffee in the cafe was served in paper cups filled to the brim despite asking for cold milk, which was 'forgotten ' then delivered in a mini paper cup , two tasteless lumps of scones with jam and cream in glass jars.. no butter and 'presented ' in a cardboard box.. Served by polite ladies in dishevelled tee shirts... and the final insult charged £32.00, totally unacceptable. I wrote before posting this but no reply, so it would appear acceptable in this venue. What a contrast with Knole Park, cups, delicious scones and superb service... be warned before booking. JAO"

"My husband's lobster linguine was delicious, but his white wine was lukewarm. The helpful waitress explained that it had just come out of the fridge, which led me to think they should have stocked it earlier in the day to ensure proper chilling. My steak was mediocre, though the accompanying vegetables were cooked to perfection. Unfortunately, the glass of Pinot Noir was terrible and tasted like the dregs from a low-quality bottle. To top it off, I had the worst Espresso Martini I've ever encountered and couldn't even finish it. In conclusion, the restaurant needs to significantly improve the quality and service of its bar offerings. On a positive note, the service was cheerful, friendly, and accommodating."

"I had Sunday lunch at this restaurant today, and it turned out to be a great find. They serve delicious homemade food, not just reheated in the microwave but proper homemade dishes. I started with a wonderful soup, followed by a vegetable curry. The rest of my party opted for the Sunday roast beef, which also looked fantastic. We received a warm welcome and our reserved table was ready for us. This restaurant is a hidden gem in the picturesque Kent countryside, located in a charming old village. I highly recommend giving it a try, especially the delicious vegetarian option of the veg curry."

"Booked for New Year's Eve. £69.99 per head. Service adequate but I have to say the food was not good. Pre prepared and not fresh. The amuse bouche was a piece of French bread with smoke salmon, more like a badly done canape. The Starters were accompanied by limp salad, the plates they were served on very cold evidencing they had just been sitting uncovered in a fridge. Very odd rock hard goat's cheese, and for others, 3 tiny pieces of dry sardine. As for the main, beef wellington, the fillet of beef overcooked and resembled a piece of shoe leather, I doubted it was even fillet. The pastry was raw on the inside and undercooked, and soggy on the outside. Think had been pre cooked and microwaved. Worst beef wellington I have ever seen. We all sent back and chef offered rack of lamb.Sadly this was presented raw, not rare, with huge chunks of broccoli, soggy roast potatoes and carrots. Those who ate fish said was adequate, but the spinach and ricotta filo main had by one was also raw and underdone. As for the apple tart, again some received ice cold from the fridge, others luke warm although the flavour was good. Actually spoilt New Year's Eve and we left hungry. What was even more annoying is that I believe we were not charged for 2 bottles of wine, but were expected to pay for the nasty food. I would rather have paid for the £60 wine. I will be contacting the restaurant owner for a full refund, minus the wine. I can't believe we were actually charged £75 a head for the meal, pretty disgraceful in my opinion. We actually doubted whether there was a chef in the kitchen......"

"I can't stop thinking about one of the best vegetarian dishes I've ever had. The fusion main course combined Asian, Middle Eastern, and British flavors. The Aubergine sweet potato dish consisted of triple-cooked sweet potato sesame wedges, bbq miso aubergine wedges, chili peanut satay sauce, char-grilled bok choy, sumac yogurt, pomegranate, and flaked almonds. It was not only beautiful but also incredibly tasty - I almost wanted to lick the plate clean. I adored The Little Garden, located in a hidden square in Sevenoaks town center. The service was friendly, the interior design was stylish and detailed (I particularly liked the green and white wallpaper). The restaurant aims to be intriguing and definitely succeeds. The food is outstanding - I already have my eyes set on another dish that was unfortunately sold out on my visit, so I'll have to come back for it."
