"As luck would have it, I found myself in London for the second time inside three weeks with a group of friends, enjoying a day out. We have a few beers, take-in some sights and then finish-up on or very near Brick Lane. On me and a mate visited the Reema and we were both suitably impressed, so it was only fair that we made a return visit to see if the level of service and food was being maintained. This time there were five of us on what seemed like a fairly busy Friday evening in The Lane', August As with my previous trip, the restaurant was empty on our arrival and we were warmly greeted and shown to our table. Poppadums were ordered, as were various soft drinks coke, water etc. The popps' were fine and the accompanying mint sauce, onion salad, mango chutney and red sauce were adequate. Lime pickle wasn't offered but the stand-out was definitely the red sauce lovely, and I'm pleased to see more and more restaurants making this particular condiment available. As a group we don't normally bother with starters, preferring instead to add some side dishes to our mains which included chicken vindaloo, chicken bhuna, chicken rogan josh and chicken korai. For sides we added some mushroom rice, sag aloo, bombay potato, garlic naan and some portions of chips. For my main (and just to be different) I went for a vegetable biryani. Let's get the one or two very minor niggles out of the way first: the vindaloo eater noticed that his dish didn't include the customary potato, but he wasn't too bothered in any case and, mentioning potato, it was agreed all-round that the spuds in both the sag aloo and the bombays had been slightly overdone, making them more softer than what we were used to. That said, they were delicious especially the sag aloo for me, the spinach was spot-on. Also, in my previous review I expressed a slight disappointment regarding the quality of the pilau rice. I'm pleased to report that the vindaloo eater's mushroom rice was near perfect so that's a ghost well and truly exorcised... All four chicken diners thoroughly enjoyed their mains in fact, the korai eater suggested that it was one of the best korai meals he'd had in ages. Praise indeed... My vegetable biryani was a delight, a generous portion beautifully presented and it was accompanied by a vegetable sauce rather than the traditional curry. They complemented each other brilliantly and, having asked for the sauce to be spiced-up dramatically' so far as the heat-level was concerned, I was not disappointed. Really nice and tasty and hot..... After enjoying the obligatory end-of-meal chocolates which came with the bill for five of us, good value I thought) it was time to say farewell to the Reema and make our way towards the station for the train back to Southend. By the time we'd left the restaurant it was almost half-full, which was pleasing. I'm glad that I had the opportunity of making a return trip to this restaurant after just a short time the food was still good, the service was still friendly (although we did have to wait a little while for the bill) and I'm sure that I'll be back at some point in the future. However, after sampling the delights of Brick Lane and the immediate area for what must be almost ten years now, I have many other eateries to visit, revisit and write about first. If you fancy a good restaurant which is just off the main drag of Brick Lane to an area where you shouldn't get hassled by touts' (or at least I haven't to date) then you won't go too far wrong with the Reema."

"at the theke the person serving me gave a hot plate (they used a towel to hold it) directly into my mere hand and burned me. obviously it hurt until I just started crying. instead of apologising to ask if I was. okay, or offer any help she just left and began to serve other people without even completing my order. another member of the staff kwme to theke and had to call her back. again she did not apologize or asked if I was in order, she said she had not heard the rest of my order as if it were mine. I repeated this and she brought me one of the things. then I repeated it again and she said she didn't hear me so I was done. she brought me the last article (a ham and cheese pannini,) but in a croissant instead of brot and without a side salad. I had no energy to keep track of them at this point, my hand was hurt, and so I just left it. I asked the man until he informed them about the transfer of the hot plates and he said he would do it. He also offered no help or support. I know I should have said something back then, but I had a pain, I was a little shocked, so I just left it. the personal should be aware of when you pass hot hair. if a court is hot enough that they need a towel, then it is too hot for mere hands, they either have to cool the court or they have to warn customers before they should be offered it via the first aid and the infall book filled, none of them was done, I was not even directed to the toilet where I could run it under cold water and could not see any toilets in the building they have learned that I have been out. I finished a cold can of pop trying to run away the burning without so much as an excuse to calm down and then serve other people without completing my order is bad customer service, no matter how they cut it. I don't know if she was just a bit stunned or embarrassed, what had happened, but it wasn't a proper answer, especially since I was clearly hurt and visibily was annoyed that I informed the tower afterwards and they said they were investigating it. they offered me a free lunch in the caffe about apology, but when I saw a 589 miles long trip living away, that was not much good so I rejected it. If/if we go back to london, I would probably take a lunch package when I visited the tower."

"As the title suggests, this is a takeaway (I believe delivery also) with food on display in the chiller cabinets at the front, and tables inside so that you could sit and eat in. It's pretty basic no Wifi nor charging points and TV set to some foreign channel. They don't serve beer but suggested I could get some cans from over the road, and I also found they don't take plastic I had to nip out to the cashpoint first! Despite me being shown to a table, it wasn't obvious that I had to head back up to the counter to order my meal; there's no menus and no prices. Out of the two curries on display, I went for the darker lamb curry as that was supposedly spicier over the chicken, but I could have had either. When my order was taken other dishes were upsold I was happy with just the curry and bread, but was persuaded to have some pakoras whilst I waited (which were nice but not much accompanying chilli sauce) The curry wasn't bad: thick, rich and indeed had a nice burn to it. I found the chapattis a bit thick and stodgy, perhaps from being reheated. The veg dish was odd, somewhat bland I expected it to be a good Bombay aloo but felt like it was a potato and veg stew. There was also a side dish of onions and tomatoes with a slice of lime, refreshing but a bit watery. In all it filled a hole and sufficed for that evening but I felt the bill was a bit of a rip off (especially when nothing's priced). Also the staff seemed disinterested in the diner's experience so I don't think I'll return there again."
