"Riva is the best restaurant in Hale. This was my second visit and I was just as impressed as the first time, if not more! Last night (Thursday evening) we enjoyed amazing food and live music from a talented singer. Our group started with a snack board and then ordered beef Wellington, steak pie, fish and chips, and fillet steak - all of which were rated 10/10 by everyone. The service from the owner, a lovely gentleman, was outstanding. If you're looking for high-quality, unique food in Hale, Riva is the place to go!"

"*updated review* Enjoyed a little breakfast with my son on his birthday recently. Still very quaint and pretty in aesthetics and decor. Bathroom is spotless. Service is good, attentive but not in your face. Breakfast was lovely. Eggs benedict was cooked perfectly. I've added some new photos also. Tea has improved also. A real lovely brew. I especially love the teapot and cup collaboration. Updated my review to 5 star. Very cute, quaint little cafe, glad we made the effort to go here for breakfast this week. The lady that served us was lovely, smiley and friendly and attentive. Food was great quality, especially the bacon, not sure it was real butter on toast which was little bit disappointing. Dropped a star from my review as cutlery was not spotless and needed a wipe over with napkin before using. And the tea was not the greatest quality, even after brewing it lacked depth, colour and taste, and was not the best. However I would certainly return and amend my review if i found these aspects to have improved."

"We have been visiting this take away for over 25 years (when it was originally called Milupa) and the quality has never changed. We order the same every time and the guy who usually takes the order (still don't know his name after all these years but he knows ours) has the order down to a T. It has never been a bad curry (occasional time rice or naan bread has been missed off but can forgive them for that). Absolutely lovely."

"We used to love this restaurant in Altrincham, but unfortunately it appears to have closed down unexpectedly. We are unsure of the reasons behind this sudden closure, as we had visited just a week prior with no indication of any issues. "the menu is clearly marked with what is vegetarian, what gives me the trust in the food that I will probably be served. sometimes lunch with carnivores that, while enjoying the meaty options, are equally likely to enjoy the no-compromise veggie options....The waiting staff are really nice, and usually very efficient. the fresh orange is raised. we have enjoyed lunch outside today and this is my only light nigger that the service can be delayed a tad when they sit outside everything else is Spot-on. no hesitation to recommend this food."

"I visited san giovanni for birthday dinner with two friends and my baby. I was appalled by the way I was treated after I had asked how long our main courses would be (after an hour have waited) when I suggested to the waiter that we had to wait one, he replied, "No, you didn't ', I was completely withdrawn. then he continued in an extremely defensive (and aggressive) wise. I can say categorically that this spoils the rest of the meal. I've never seen anything like that in a restaurant. about eating, my friends enjoyed their carbonnara, but my pizza was loaded with fat cheese. does not want to visit again and would not read more. more"

"I'm a big Thai food fan and found this hidden gem place via TripAdvisor so thought we'd give it a try! It was for our 3 years anniversary and me and my husband had a great evening there! We went on a Sunday and what a pleasant surprise!! They have a All Day Sunday Family Meal Deal which comes with a starter, 1 main and dessert at a very reasonable price! Portion size for my starter was bigger than expected and tasted lovely. There was a wide variety of choices of food and even for desserts! My husband had a lovely surprise from the deep fried ice cream and he absolutely loved it! Staff were so friendly and attentive! Can't thank you enough for a great meal! Will definitely come back again, despite having to travel all the way from Bolton!"

"Visited on a Thursday early evening and the atmosphere was poor with very few customers. The bar staff were friendly and took our order quickly. We waited 40 minutes for our order (for2 people) to arrive when only one other table were eating. The food was very average and over cooked. We had the sliders which were incredibly small, so felt like they were just a starter size even though we had 3 each. Not a big menu. Won’t be rushing back. Apparently the only night they’re busy is Saturday."

"This small taverna is fantastic. The food was incredible. As someone who is gluten free, I was impressed with how knowledgeable and accommodating both servers were. We ordered the mixed meze and not only was the food delicious, but there was a generous amount of it. I might have to go up a jean size after this meal! I will definitely come back to this place."

"Oh God, this pains me. I lived locally to The Church for thirty years, only moving a couple of years ago and have been back sporadically for drinks since. But this is the first time in a long time that we'd had food. Take a look at the photo of the fish. Looks lovely doesn't it? The kind of battered fish you'd expect in any pub serving food. Well, that's a photo from a previous reviewer. What I got is so far removed from this photo it may as well have been a chicken. The fish that I had to wait 35 minutes to be served on a not at all busy night that I half suspect someone popped out to the Co-Op on Ambleside Road to get it was quite obviously just stuck in the oven. The chips, the amount of which I could count on three hands (if I had three hands) we're probably stuck in the oven next to them and the amount of mushy peas was closer to mushy pea. No tartare sauce. Overall a crushing disappointment. Further to this, my partner had a dressed salad that was so little dressed it could have been arrested under nudity laws. The staff remain as lovely as usual, except for the fact that chat that night seemed to be the first priority and service second. Like I said, painful to write. But memories don't excuse what I got."

"I enjoyed a very tasty meal here and the two brothers who own it were friendly and courteous, very lovely people indeed, I described what I like to taste to the Chef and a new dish on the menu named “Aydin” was recommended for me and my goodness it delivered, the tastiest dish I have in a long time, I would describe it simply as a taste sensation, it was freshly prepared and cooked to perfection and I enjoyed it along with perfectly cooked pilau rice and a Peshwari naan and a very well made lovely glass of mango lassi.The eating area was clean and bright and the floor shone, I look forward very much to returning to this establishment and ordering the “Aydin” dish again, I really do have a taste for it. Well done, Ashiana!"

"My wife Ali loves this place, and to be fair, she is a fussy eater as far as quality and taste are concerned, my preference is Chinese food but if I'm having this type of food I wouldn't go anywhere else. Service always quick, efficient and friendly, I'm a bit concerned about the places football allegiance as I'm a West Ham fan but we've all got our preferences. "We received a very friendly welcome. Decor of the rooms is nice modern. Bathroom had a big walk in shower. Safe deposit box and tea coffee in the room. The rooms are in a separate building to the pub/Inn. Breakfast is served in the inn. You order from a menu. No buffet. Nice options though. Plenty of free parking. Just a few minutes drive to the airport."

"Have reviewed before and promised a return. Did so and was not disappointed. Great food, lovely staff, no complaints but.....There are compromises. Its small and can feel cramped owing to its popularity. Rather than your regular restaurant, think of it more as a bar with *very* tasty snacks and you 'll 'get ' it. Expect to wait! The food is incredibly good but as with everything lately its getting a little pricey... £75 ish for 2 people with beers.... just about justifiable. However we left stuffed to the gills with the best of food and very contented. Highly recommended, will return for our next 'special occasion '. "I was looking for somewhere to eat on my way back from work and decided to check out this restaurant on TripAdvisor. The reviews were really positive so I thought I would give it a try. The food was delicious and the waitress was very knowledgeable about food allergies and intolerances. I requested my chicken chow mein without garlic or chili and they were able to accommodate my request. The dish was incredibly flavorful and satisfying. My family member also enjoyed their mixed meat Singapore vermicelli noodles. Overall, it was a great dining experience and we will definitely be returning in the future."

"Very good location in an entire corner which allows you to enjoy the life of the city, a relaxed décor with a nice design of the bar,the background music mixes with the place, is clean and spacious which you adapt quickly to the atmosphere and vibe of the place. The menu for my taste with lack of creativity, but very well executed, I ordered the Seoul Seeker We didn 't even get to the airport to get anything like Seoul in its flavors. The only thing I liked was the fried chicken which was perfect, double crispy and hot dish, all I found Korean was the red pepper paste Gochujang spread on top of the chicken, the combination of cabbage spring onions lettuce and thai chillies does not give it any grace whatsoever, but gives what the cheff looks for the green color nothing more, a coleslaw with the ingredients described above mixed with kimchi would have been more interesting end The professional and friendly service I recommend it"
