"the cookie jar is a small caffe in a side street of the rüttenscheider street in Essen-Rüttenscheid. from the location in the center rüttenscheids quite well. as a note: to find a parking place there is sometimes a good thing :)the caffe was opened according to its own statement at the beginning of 2017 by two sisters, who wanted to make their hobby call, because they like cupcakes and want to share this with everyone. We were there for a cupcake course. These courses are usually held on Saturdays mornings. Moreover, there is probably the possibility to book courses for different types of courses - e.g. for youngsters, children's birthdays etc. (choice of the owner to get for children's birthdays: "so make all the hardy the big events"). according to the owner of the caffe, these courses are designed for 8-10 persons. on this cursday were 20 people there. although 3 people have mercied and wanted to come back at another date, it was still too crowded. the owner knew about this problem already on the eve and unfortunately did nothing to make the best out of the situation (e.g. more cupcakes, equipment accordingly to provide or simply cancel people or at least not to withdraw the cancellations). during the course, each group produced two frostings (fresh cheese and butter cream) and a dough for muffins. Finally, the muffins, which were prepared on the day before, were decorated. The muffins are made with dinkeletal flour, which makes them harder and less fluffy, but this is a taste. butter cream is also not made from butter, but from margarine, because the owner doesn't like the butter taste.Only decorating with the cream there was freeze bag with hole - there was (on demand) to decorate 4 tulle, which were broken. for further decoration, however, there was a large selection of sugar sprouts and cookies. the dough made by the cursors was baked - but to sell it later as own products spent in the load. the teig kneading wore gloves, but for hygienic and above all qualitative reasons at least very questionable. especially a pity for the cursors, because too little muffins were there and then not the sorts that the groups had chosen. Summary of the cupcake course: much too many people, too little space, not enough equipment, only 1-3 muffins per person. the owner was not very well prepared, which she founded with "individual, puffed and different". at times she also carried her bad laune strong outwards. the floor in the load was extremely dirty and as a whole the owner's statement was not completely finished or in rebuild, since they are "first since januar" in the load (pronounced: for 6 months.) concluded: the cursor was with 25€ per person via a voucher portal (normal price is twice as high) much, much, much too expensive.I can unfortunately not recommend the cafe quietly.PS: regarding the overbooking of the course portal, the owner blamed all of them. can be true, of course, but she hasn't done any great attempts to get everything really good. this date was also the second date we had booked with her. the first date was canceled 3 days earlier with the foundation "we are on holiday." planning and organizational skills I ask from the experiences so sometimes.PPS: maybe the courses run at other days or the regular business is better."

"this wonderful unique restaurant is definitely my favorite in germany possibly in all europe no kidding. it features organic vegetarian fare as well as organic wine, beer, cider other beverages. i myself am not vegetarian, so this is not my criterion for...my rating, but after all the heavily schweinfleischheavy menus you find in germany, what a relief it is to discover zodiac . the food is as fresh madetoorder as you can find is not only delicious, but food that makes you feel better as soon as you begin eating it. the superwelcoming proprietor mo is of iranian origin i'm pretty sure the staff is comprised of mo's large family, so the cuisine is probably persian at its core, but cannot be defined exclusivlely as such. i've had meals at zodiac, everything i've tried there is good. yesterday i had the delicious ratatouille made with roast vegetables, the freshest tastiest taboulleh you can imagine always order the taboulleh a pizza with feta, spinach olive, which a friend i shared along with a cider a weitzenbier the bill was so as you see the price is surprisingly reasonable. i'll also recommend any of the soups, by the way. always call reserve first, as you never know when the place will be swarming with neighborhood patrons it is certainly popular. the ambience is calming, with low lighting lots of green vines climbing everywhere. the service is very good, but the food being individually prepared comes out in its own time. once you're seated, you won't be rushed in any way. the kitchen is in full view of the dining room you won't hear food processors whirring i'm pretty sure they don't use them or even loud conversation. if you're not able to be seated that night, you can order a pizza from the adjacent takeout window. i tour professionally, whenever i hit essen zodiac is the first place i go. i'll be here a total of days this trip, i'll definitely dine at zodiac at least one more time. thank you mo crew i'll definitely be seeing you soon"
