"My friend and I met at Canary Wharf for our first get together for months and we wandered into the Slug Lettuce to ask if they could do us a snack and a drink and they couldn't have been more helpful, especially when we asked if we could move away from an open door as it had gone rather chilly! Shannon looked after us very well with some helpful suggestions and our food and drinks arrived quite promptly. We sat and chatted and felt very comfortable there. Nice and clean, plenty of space between the tables and the background music was nice and low so we could hear ourselves speak."

"When we arrived at the restaurant, we were informed that we needed to pre-order the Mother's Day menu, which had not been mentioned when we made the reservation. It would have been helpful if someone had called ahead to let us know, as we all wanted to try the set roast Mother's Day menu. When we tried to order drinks, the bartender seemed flustered and annoyed, and did not allow us to open a tab. The restaurant had the football game on, which is understandable since it is a sports bar, but it was so loud that we couldn't hear each other speak. This was particularly frustrating as there were families with children present. We asked for the volume to be turned down, and although they did adjust it, it was still very loud. Additionally, they gave us a table for six instead of the seven we had booked for, plus a buggy, without any prior consideration. The only positive aspect of our experience was that the restaurant was clean."

"I had a bad experience using this app to book a table at this restaurant. I made a reservation for January 18, 2020, but when I arrived, my name was not on the list. The staff tried to help, but there seemed to be a glitch with the app that prevented my booking from going through. I received a confirmation email for my reservation, but it still did not work. "Then, a man named Dan approached us and rudely placed a 'reserved' sign on our table, saying, "We need this table at 4 PM." When I pointed out we had about 50 minutes left, he responded in a rather condescending manner. I assured him that if we had our food by then, it wouldn't be a problem since we planned to eat and leave, not stay for drinks. Meanwhile, I noticed that a similarly sized table next to us was reserved for 3:30 PM and decorated with Pride accessories. At 3:45 PM, a female waitress approached our table and insisted that we needed to leave. I explained that we had ordered food that hadn’t arrived yet and were still enjoying our drinks. Dan returned, still with an unpleasant attitude, and reiterated that they needed our table due to a booking. I informed him that we were not leaving because we were still waiting for our food. He continued to be rude, asking me what he was supposed to do about the booking. I pointed out that we had already ordered food and that it wasn't our fault if they hadn’t managed their reservations properly; you can’t just slap a reserved sign on a table and expect us to leave. He then told me, "I'll refund your food order," which was completely unacceptable. The entire exchange was uncomfortable, with my daughter witnessing the rude behavior and false statements from Dan, such as him claiming that "upstairs is for bookings only," which was simply not true. I suggested that they could seat the reservation at the table next to us that was still unoccupied, even though it was past the booking time. After walking away, he soon returned to request the reservation card, which I passed to him. He then replaced the reservation card at the next table with our 4 PM booking card. It was that simple. This whole altercation was unnecessary and really put a damper on what was meant to be a celebratory day for me and my daughter. I genuinely believe that Dan needs additional training on handling reservations and understanding that paying customers have the right to occupy a table until their food has been served. We shouldn't have to endure such a hostile experience."

"When we arrived, the person at the restaurant door told us he wasn’t letting anyone in. We explained that we had a reservation, but he claimed he couldn’t find it and said it was the second time that evening this had happened. I showed him our reservation on OpenTable, but after searching for a bit, he informed us we were at the wrong restaurant and asked us to leave. I double-checked and even asked some locals, and it turned out we were at the correct address, the right restaurant, and the correct date and time. His rudeness was shocking, and because of COVID, we couldn’t find another place to eat. It was incredibly disappointing."

"We revisited tonight as had a lovely meal last week!! It was like walking into a completely different pub. Service was beyond slow, and when provided with menus advised that they were sorry, but, there was a lack of items!! We ordered drinks first, 20mins and watched them sat on bar for 10 of those, in the end had to ask the young girl who was stood doing nothin, could we perhaps have them to drink, rather than just look at them. We then asked if we could order and she advised she wasn't doing the ordering so had to wait for the young man to arrive. When he did we checked about the lobster as was having our last meal of our holidays and he had previously advised what wasn't in the menu. Advised yes, they had this 20mins after ordering was advised that actually, they didn't have it and something similar they could offer was a monkfish...... (no words to that really). Left us with the menu again and just kept walking past us despite trying to get his attention so we could reorder the missing lobster meal. He just kept sodding about on his iPad thingy and ticking of the tables. During this time also, a gentlemen walked up to the bar to say he was extremely concerned about his groups meal as it was now over an hour since they ordered and no starters had even been served. He proceeded to cancel his starters as they were fed up with the ridiculous delay and lack of any service. With that, we echoed his sentiments and advised we were actually leaving as not prepared hand over our well earned money to an establishment who had got it completely wrong tonight and they weren't even busy. In fact I'd say they weren't even a quarter full. Menu is very expensive and although the food we ate last week was good, it wasn't fantastic. But the 3 ladies who served us were really lovely which was why we had decided to revisit tonight on our last night. Big mistake on our part and extremely disappointing for us as ruined our last evening."

"absolutely amazing. we sat down on a busy Saturday night, which is expected to be booked, the beautiful lady who welcomed us aimfully made a table for us so that we could feed. drinks were ordered and arrived very quickly from a very happy helpful waitress. the food ordered next door and since it was busy, we didn't expect wrong again. the beginnings came in good time and were pilted hot, the calamari was boiled to perfection and nave muscles were perfect. the best middleton grill is an absolute must, it was the best steak I ever had. the chicken was moist and very tasty and the ribs from this world. I can't eat middletons to all the staff friendly and amazing that even better. an absolute gem in watford. x"

"Dine at Zack’s fairly often so know what to expect. Christmas time so bit busier didn’t seem a problem and staff were bubbly and friendly. There was a mix up with our orders though and two of five of us ended up with wrong type of potatoes. One got replacement pots on the house, I made do with the wedges that I hadn’t ordered. Otherwise fine until the end when the waitress (not the same one who’s served earlier) clearly wanted to get us out so she could go home!"

"We have been seated at the coldest table next to the Window , close to the kitchen. It was my mums birthday and we did make staff aware of it. Nobody have done check back when we had our starters which were not the greatest....We have waited for mains over an hour, nobody gave us cutlery after we had our starters , we were have to request. When we did that , the girl with dark blonde hair rolled her eyes on us. My mums majito was most of it ice , she couldn’t drink it , we asked for another one instead with no ice and in a smaller glass. The manager ignored our request and bought a drink to the table in the same long glass with full of soda that my mum couldn’t taste alcohol. The noice level was way to high the chefs were shouting and constantly complaining that none of the staff taking food. The entire our service was spoiled. Additionally, nobody asked us if we have any allergies. My brother had a burger with a spicy mustard which is not specified in a menu, myself I am allergic to spicy. Theoretically I could of been the one who tried the burger to check if child’s food is warm. They lucky that I didn’t. over , neither the waitress or the manager haven’t introduced themselves to us and it makes sense now. Overall , we wouldn’t recommend the place. Too pricy for a horrible service."

"Service was slow, however very polite, food seemed processed and turkey looked like sliced from the butcher so thin, meat was not a slice of steak was mushed excess pieces moulded together into a round mould and cold. also Cranachan was just mush like thick yoghurt with porridge oats through it? That was a major shock and in a soup bowl? Def need to check the recipe on this, one chipolata too. All food was just warm nothing special. Christmas menu yet no crackers? No one asked if we enjoyed our meal even when the dessert wasn’t eaten"
