"Hats off to the management and staff of Cantinetta for truly earning this one-star review from me. It was a team effort that I felt deserved recognition. We had guests from out of town and it was up to us to pick a restaurant that showcased the best of Crosby (according to Google reviews). We were a party of 10 who had reserved a table for Saturday evening with plenty of time to prepare and even pre-order if needed. Upon arrival, we were seated and given the drink menu. Unfortunately, the staff took 40 minutes before taking our drink orders, despite reminders. They seemed to make excuses rather than fulfill their duties. We should have probably left at that point, but we stayed. The food that was eventually served was inedible, particularly the Bruschettas which were popular choices for starters. There were delays in serving the main dishes as well, with some younger guests jokingly starting to eat the table. Thankfully, the main meals were of decent quality once served, but the service lacked any apologies or acknowledgment of our dissatisfaction. When we spoke to the manager about our experience, he seemed indifferent. This lack of care or apologies for a subpar experience on their part is the reason for this one-star review. Everyone has an off night, but the indifference to customer satisfaction shown by Cantinetta was truly remarkable.Service: Dine inMeal type: DinnerPrice per person: £30-40Food: 2Service: 1Atmosphere: 2"

"among a large number of fried chicken restaurants, almost food joints and numerous bangladeshi restaurants is a rustic Italian restaurant with an excellent environment. on Wednesday afternoon for lunch I was amazed to see a style similar to that of a first class restaurant. the restaurant was relatiw full for a Wednesday afternoon in mile ende. the menu consisted of a few dressed in different categories that you would see in any Italian restaurants, but with a higher complication. the waiter came to explain the daily specialties that burrata with black truffles shave up and spaghetti with truffle both for reasonable prices. my friend ordered a margherita pizza that arrived with basilikum and parmesan cheese on the side. the pizza was thin crispy crust with a delicious tomato sauce, a simple dish, but prepared for a very high standard. I ordered the rabbit ragout, which was also very tasty and the pasta came al dente, I also ordered burrata with black truffles, both were very tasty. there was a formal environment with a dedicated wine menu. the waiter explained to me that the restaurant was only open two months. this restaurant can be seen as a hidden gem in mile ende and is definitely recommended to appreciate the good hearty Italian cuisine. prices can be slightly high compared to the surrounding restaurants, but for the quality of food and the ingredients it is definitiv a trip and worth the money."

"I've been coming to Bistro Laz and Al Parco (they share a building and also a kitchen, I believe) for as long as I can remember. Its been a family favourite restaurant for again, as long as I can remember. Every birthday, Special occasion meal, etc. We had here. I went back recently with a friend and I've got to say I was a bit embarrassed I sung their praises to him, and I think on this occasion the restaurant fell short. The food was as amazing as always, and the wait staff were very nice, friendly, and helpful. BUT, they had none of the mid level or cheaper wines in stock, and we had to buy a £70 or 80£ bottle, the bottle which admittedly was a very nice bottle was originally more and they did discount it though which was nice, but overall still annoying as we didn't expect to spend more than £30 or 40 on wine. But more annoyingly the food didn't arrive for a very, very long time. So much so that it seemed like they forgot about us. Admittedly, the restaurant was very busy when we were there, but the service speed was still, in my opinion too slow. Otherwise, Bistro Laz was great as ever. Like I said, the food was brilliant, and reasonably priced. The lamb cutlets with mash, and the large prawn starters are superb. Or if you want a great pizza order from the Al Parco menu. I'll give them 4 stars just because I love them and the food so much but they need to keep their wine in stock and either work on service speed, or keep diners informed so its clear they're not forgotten."
