"This was a mixed experience. I was looking forward to one of my favourite Italian meals: scaloppine al limone. My partner went for a classic spaghetti bolognese. The veal seemed to be a rather thick cut, and was tough. Thankfully, this was replaced with an apology for a chicken cacciatore, which was pretty good. The chef also made a fresh bolognese, rather than simply keeping my husband's meal warm. We almost left, though, at that point, as there were several people coming in not to eat, but one, very loudly on her phone and chatting with the waiter, followed by a fairly obnoxious man who seemed to be collecting a take away. We stayed for dessert, which was good delighted to see that they make zabaglione for only one, which is rare. Overall, service was very good, but the place has all the ambience of a take away. Don't go if you want to have a conversation with a companion."

Friendly reliable and reasonably priced, Sophie’s has a fairly standard but comfortably done menu.

Mediocre ouput in relation to price, salmon like expensive fish and chips. Strangely watery tiramisu.

Difficult to be understood “do you have gluten free.....” took a while to get through. The answer by the way was “no” Standard of food was “ok” but nothing special and certainly not worth the exorbitant prices. View menu

The food was excellent and the service was great. There is a wide variety of dishes to choose from that will appeal to most tastes. If we find ourselves in that area of London again, we will definitely come back.

this restaurant can not be the scorching, but it is welcome and it is well cooked eating at a reasonable price in a central location make it worth visiting. surprised that one or two complain, but if they want the scorching price to pay if they want a warm atmosphere and home cooked food, they try denise’s. The staff at this restaurant were friendly, but the food quality was lacking and the prices were quite high. We visited for lunch on a Thursday and decided to sit outside since the restaurant was empty. Unfortunately, the main road location meant there was a lot of traffic including large trucks passing by, making it a less than enjoyable experience.

I made a reservation for a table for two for lunch after visiting the British Museum. It turned out there was no need for a reservation as the restaurant was empty. We waited a few minutes for the waitress, who was behind the bar, to come over but she ignored us. Eventually, we had to go ask for a table ourselves. The waitress seemed like she didn't want to be there, but her attitude improved as we dined. We ordered tiger prawns, lasagne, and penne Arabiata, all of which were delicious and came in generous portions. The wine list was limited, but we enjoyed a bottle of Soave.
