"I have visited the Crooked Chimney many times in the past, but not in recent years. I'm not sure if it has changed ownership, but based on my experience this time, I would not return. Initially, they did not have our reservation, despite it being confirmed through OpenTable. However, since it was not busy, they were able to find a table for us. Unfortunately, the quality of the food was poor. We ordered three roast dinners and a child's pasta with garlic bread. The garlic bread was burnt, and the roast beef was tough and dry as if it had been reheated or left under a warmer for too long. The vegetables were cold and the roast vegetables were soggy. We were among the first customers in the restaurant at 12:15, but the food did not arrive until 1:00, leaving us little time to address the issues. I mentioned our dissatisfaction to the waitress as we left, and I observed another table sending their food back for the same reasons. Additionally, another couple left after being told there would be a 90-minute wait for food. The restaurant was cold, and we had to keep our coats on as there were no fires lit and no heating on. It's a shame because the Crooked Chimney used to be a nice bar/restaurant with good food."
