"We arrived early, but eventually received our meals over an hour after our booking time. Most of the menu was off; it had been a busy week, apparently so there was no fish and chips, no pie, no mac 'n 'cheese, among others. The wait staff said she 'd have a look to see what WAS available . Ales largely not in stock and the one we had Tribute was truly horrible, vinegary and tart. The children 's starters arrived, then their mains: meanwhile not a sign of the adult meals. The wait staff said (twice) I TOLD you the children 's would come out first! . We were not impressed. The manager gave the children a free dessert, which was nice for them... in fact they did rather well out of the whole debacle. As we 've noticed on previous occasions, the 'service charge ' is on the bill with no means to deduct it and this time, without a doubt, the entire experience was awful. Great gastro pub set on the outskirts of Wendover The pub has a large beer garden which is great for sitting out and enjoying a summers evening.

Everything lovely with friendly staff and good service. I had a tasty caesar salad with garkic bread which came with the option of chicken for a late lunch and felt it was a little small for a main course, otherwise would have given it 5 stars.
