"on a busy Saturday night. managed to get a table for two nice and easy. service is excellent. wein is beautiful. portion size is very generous. you always let the feeling clog. my only problem was the black woman tonight. I complain that it tastes bitter/not fresh. the waitress was very friendly and fast to adapt my suffering. huge doll of the mayonnaise sorted them anyway. it still tasted bitter. I accuse the veg supplier personally . so or so, had a cracker of a meal. everything was fit. nice guy and girl. seven loves x x x x x x x x x x"

"Booked table for 5. When we arrived offered table for 4 with seat placed on end. Declined this table told proper table would be available 20 minutes later. Went for drink in the Back Bar. Returned 30 minutes later and shown to suitable table. Drinks took long time to arrive. Starters average and lacked flavour. Fries over salted and they were changed. The food is lacking in flavour and service is variable. Declined to pay service charge (which I normally do). The Menu is lacking choice and expensive. Time the for the Hard Rock upped their game."

"We went here for a business lunch. It may be bad luck with the dishes that the three of us ordered, but we all went for the lamb as a main course, which was frankly very disappointing. The lamb came in small pieces (say was thoroughly overcooked (totally brown). We were all looking forward to a nicely cooked piece of lamb that was pink, but this looked like it was just diced up and fried. Not good cookery. Our starters and desserts were not terrible, but certainly not great either (probably lower quality to most supermarket desserts). Perhaps the chef was having a bad day, but otherwise I cannot fathom why anyone is rating this restaurant highly (although the location is lovely, and the decor also is nice and festive). Service was good too. Overall I am glad I was not paying!"

"Despite being booked at the last-minute, I managed to sneak a table at Harper's in Thornton. The whole experience was fantastic from start to finish. Started out at the bar with plenty of drinks choice on offer with some particularly good gin and bourbon. Food was superb and clearly freshly made with the steak and burgers being quite sublime and definitely a cut above the norm. Service was absolutely on point with a friendly and efficient team that made us feel welcome. Cherry on the cake was that the whole evening at Harper's was very good value for money. Recommend it to anyone. We'll definitely be going back again..."

"Our first visit to this restaurant was based on recommendations, as we were hoping to find a good alternative to Bodeans in London. We ordered the candy bacon and mac n cheese balls for our starter, but our mains arrived first. After waiting five minutes, we asked about our starters and they were brought out shortly after. Despite the mix-up, the food was very tasty. However, our mains were a bit hit and miss. My double bacon cheeseburger patties were dry and the bun was also dry, which was disappointing. My partner enjoyed his donut burger, although he did notice that something seemed burnt. The rest of the meal was alright and the variety of sauces was impressive. We plan on returning to try the meat trays and we were happy with the compensation offered by the staff, who were excellent. It's a shame that our first visit wasn't perfect, but we hope that our next visit will be better. We will update our review accordingly."

"Let me start by saying the Grey Horse is a great pub in Kingston, we have been going for years. My Wife and I popped in to get some of the excellent food they serve and sat in the SMOK'D restaurant at the back. Being slightly addicted to Buffalo Wings we ordered 9 wings each and little piggy fries. The fries with little pork belly bits were as always amazing. The service was great and the produce was clearly very good. But alas when the wings arrived they were 9 whole wings!. Just to clarify in true USA BBQ style I was expecting jointed wings i.e wings and drumettes jointed into individual pieces. I not complaining about volume as I received what I considered 18 wings (i.e 9 wings and 9 drumettes). But the unjointed wings do make good eating. Being whole they overlap so you don't get that lovely crispy gnarly outer and you are left instead with your bog standard British Chicken wing with a slightly flabby outer skin that you cant pick up!! Such a shame as the wings used to be excellent and really the only wings this side of the Atlantic that I enjoyed. I would always recommend them to other Buffalo wing addicts but now I really couldn't. The 3 stars reflected that everything else about the Grey horse and SMOK'D was great, and I hope that the wings are restored to their former glory."

"Arrived yesterday 2 adults one 3 year old. Didn't pre book but as we walked in there was lots of empty tables. Asked for a table to be told there was no tables for 3 available. I asked if they could put is on a larger table and was told no. I then asked if we could take a table for 2 and offered to put the baby on the end in a chair, to be told no again! Standing there as the couple behind asked if there was any availability for 2 and they were given a seat. Clearly they do not cater for families with children and seemed very unwilling to be of any service. Considering there are plenty of restaurants to choose from at the Albert docks they clearly did not need our custom. Very disappointed with Miller and Carter and will not waste our time returning."

"Visited this place after accidentally leaving it too late to go to any other restaurants as they had all closed, but very glad to have come! We both enjoyed the Scotsman burgers, which was very, very tasty. The chili jam gave it such a great flavour, and the chips were also very good. Also shared a raspberry mojito, which absolutely hit the spot. The atmosphere was that of a beer hall with the bench-tables, which I loved but may not be for everyone. We didn't stay long enough but I can imagine it would be a lovely place to hang and have drinks with friends after a long week. Definitely would visit again!"
