Very nice restaurant with nice staff. The food was amazing and the environment was very cozy. Options for vegans, vegetarians are naturally available. Very good cocktails also

After being refused our booked meal at Bar 50, we decided to try this restaurant instead. We were welcomed by a lovely staff member and enjoyed a nice meal with friendly service. We will definitely return here on our next visit to Edinburgh. Highly recommended.

We stumbled over when everything else was closed and we wanted a meal. I'm so glad we made it. The steak was the best I ever had and the peppercorn sauce was also really delicious. The loaded pommes were great. Will definitely visit again when we go back to Edinburgh View menu

The food was delicious and the drinks were fantastic. I had been searching for well-seasoned and tasty food, and I thought I wouldn't find it until I stumbled upon this place. It was definitely worth it! I am very particular about how Mexican food should taste, and this restaurant met my high standards.

I decided to grab some late night drinks at this restaurant. The bar has a modern design and is very well-decorated. It's a cozy spot to hang out. They have a nice variety of ales and beers to choose from. The service was good too. I would definitely recommend stopping by if you happen to be in the area.

Pretty cool vibe, with an industrial-chic look and food that's good but nothing to rave about, though the service was really friendly. Had some interesting and tasty quinoa fritters then an okay pulled pork roll with a side of very cheesy macaroni cheese. Person I was eating with (and paying) had a pretty big Caesar salad with nice-looking charred chicken and a side of quite tasty chips. It's maybe more about the drinks though, and I think it would be a cool place to share a pitcher of beer or cocktails, particularly on a Friday or Saturday night when they have a DJ. View menu

Visited this place after accidentally leaving it too late to go to any other restaurants as they had all closed, but very glad to have come! We both enjoyed the Scotsman burgers, which was very, very tasty. The chili jam gave it such a great flavour, and the chips were also very good. Also shared a raspberry mojito, which absolutely hit the spot. The atmosphere was that of a beer hall with the bench-tables, which I loved but may not be for everyone. We didn't stay long enough but I can imagine it would be a lovely place to hang and have drinks with friends after a long week. Definitely would visit again!

Part of the Fuller Thompson chain this pub is slightly different to the other ones in the group. Focusing more on slow cooked meats, this pub was on my list of places I wanted to try. In a warehouse-type setting the place feels airy but not cold. We took a table by a window and were greeted by a waitress who gave us menus. We poured over the menus and there was lots to choose from, from light bites to more substantial (and more expensive) steaks. The menu had changed that week, so it didn’t quite match the website but this wasn’t an issue. I opted for jalapeño smoking piglets followed by a half baby back of ribs. Time to cast ourselves back. That is, I must confess that s.o. and I made this visit some time ago. But life gets in the way, and blog posts are put on hold. But now, with nothing but the dregs of the summer ahead of me, it's time to get going again. I'll make things simple for the both of us. OX 184 is great. When I first moved to Edinburgh in 2011, I was living on the Cowgate. *shock*, *horror*, I hear you say, and, well, it was. But now that OX have moved in, and are capitalizing on a distinct lack of trendy and contemporary bars on the road, I'm not sure that I wouldn't move back there. (N.B. notice the double negative).
