"We ordered the steak sandwich and the avocado eggs benedict on sourdough toast with smoked salmon both were really delicious and fresh! Drinks were just average (we ordered a batch brew and a cold Milo milk drink); although, my husband tried the flat white at the Oxford Road branch the day before and said it was one of the best flat whites he has had. Knocked off one star as was difficult to access with a pram up the two steps and there was no baby changing facilities. Staff were really lovely and efficient!"

"We stopped by this restaurant on Saturday evening and tried the black and steak flat bread, both of which were absolutely delicious. I had a glass of wine and my husband had a couple of beers, all of which were fantastic. The owners were lovely and very dog-friendly, which we really appreciated. They even treated our dog with so much love, which was a wonderful touch. I would definitely recommend this place if you're in Scarborough."

"We were looking forward to visiting for brunch after seeing Nowhere Man on social media. It was a good change to try pancakes made in an independent establishment such as this one. We did have to wait a long time for seating, but once we were in we had a great table location by the window. Our dog appreciated this too! We both chose to add blueberry compote to one of the tiers of pancake options; it's such a worthwhile consideration of the business to let you have a level of freedom in customising your own meal, while also offering pancakes with particular sets of toppings. Our pancakes were delicious and the portion sizes were just right. The drinks were nice too, particularly the Biscoff/Oreo hot chocolate which was not too sickly like the ones that seem to dominate other places' offering. We will come back here in the future — maybe closer to the opening time, so that we can avoid the wait for seating. Shows that it is so popular!"

"Superb food, friendly and speedy service. Very clean. I ate at the bar around the chef the first time nice to watch him work and at a table the second time. Both very clean. Loved it so much I went twice in one week after discovering it last Saturday. I can’t wait to go back. My husband had the spicy version and I had the original (both times, though with extra belly pork the second time). The belly pork melts in your mouth but surprisingly the broth is probably the stand out item thought it’s all delicious. Really nice loos."

"This is the most fabulous place. We loved it. We are a group of friends staying for a weekend at Mawgan Porth.. and after a lovely walk along the coast path on Sunday afternoon popped in, hoping we could just get a drink but thought that might not be welcome being a Sunday lunchtime and not wanting to eat. Well.... we needn't have worried. They could not have been more friendly and welcoming. Gave us a massive table all together (with the dog... and gave her biscuits)... and of course... one drink became several.... and we then decided we would have some small plates of food too. The food was fabulous... the service and friendliness exceptional. Highly recommend and thank you Gareth and the team for a great time. Vegetarian options: I had the mushroom soup. It was delicious Dietary restrictions: One of our friends is gluten free... everything was checked and catered for Service: Dine in Meal type: Other Price per person: £30–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"The food was very good, but was unfortunately abandoned by the bad service. We were served very quickly, but unfortunately our secondary dishes were not in the system. We had main courses and had to wait until the sides were cooked. Our plates were immediately deleted, but they left some dishes in the middle of the table. We were then completely ignored, nobody asked us if we want desserts / more drinks, we had to attract attention (which was not easy) to order coffee and get the bill. We would have spent more money if someone had served us."

"We used to frequent this pub often in the past, but heard that it had changed ownership, so we decided to meet our friends here. We were excited to catch up with friends we hadn't seen in a while. However, when we arrived, my husband inquired about their ale selection and was informed they only had Harveys with no other options. The server who brought our drinks had dirty fingernails, which was off-putting. When it came time to order food, one of our friends asked about a Christmas menu and was told it needed to be pre-ordered, as stated on their website. Despite our frequent visits in the past, we had not checked the website. The food was tasty, but the service was lacking. We had to request drinks and were not asked about our meals once they arrived. At 9:40, a lady approached us with the bill and informed us they were closing soon. When we asked for another drink, we were denied. My husband requested to remove the service charge, which caused some tension with the lady taking payment. She questioned why he wouldn't pay it, stating that everyone charges it, which we found rude. Overall, the poor service has discouraged us from returning or recommending the pub to others, despite the delicious food. It's disappointing, as we had hoped the new management would focus on attracting and retaining customers."

"This place is immaculately clean compared to others. The staff are friendly and the we found the prices were good. As a family we had a mixed range of food and drinks, a freshly cooked pizza, a wrap, a panini and a Jacket Potato meal. All were tasty and the latte's came hot with patterns on them. My son's choice of the Oreo Milkshake was certainly the nicest one by miles. The place is busy however on arrival our table was cleaned quickly while we waited. The place has a nice ambience to it and i noticed the large upstairs seating area as well when visiting the washrooms on the first floor. Do expect to wait a short while as the food is cooked fresh on order."

"I had lunch here at the weekend with 6 members of my family, and 4 of us are vegan. We chose this restaurant because it has “vegan” options. When we asked about the vegan burger and chips, we were told that the chips are cooked in the same oil as meat, so they are not vegan. I found this quite concerning, as I couldn’t trust the menu after that. The manager was very polite about it, and she assured us that the menu would be changed, which I really hope it is. "This, our local café, normally closes in the late afternoon about 17:00 this time of year; but occasionally it opens up on a Friday evening, until late, to provide a tapas evening with live music. These are occasions which we try to support as much as we can. Tonight was the latest of three such events that we have enjoyed supporting; it was also the last of the, I believe, four summer events have been held. The format, was as before, to stagger table reservation times to allow the kitchen to efficiently produce plates to order. This reservation system helps avoid what could be bottlenecks, that would surely result, if too many orders flood in at the more popular times. The menu is the same for all of these events; our preferences were again to the fore for certain plates, as follows: Chicken Skewers Greek style marinaded with yoghurt. Vegetable Spring Rolls with sweet chilli dip crispy, crunchy rolls filled with savoury mix of vegetables. Lamb kofta balls with tzatziki dip. Patatas Bravas crispy potatoes in a salsa brava with a creamy aioli. Skin on fries. It was once again a much enjoyed meal and, on this occasion, we had invited my Son to join us. He really enjoyed the plates and the atmosphere. Wine: we chose a bottle of the ‘Definition Pinot Grigio’ from north eastern Italy: very complex and much enjoyed: excellent. This bottle was my Son’s contribution to the evening (apart from, of course, his company). We followed that with a bottle of the ‘Pringle Bay’ Sauvignon Blanc from the Western Cape, South Africa: this was very good; wonderfully refreshing. My Partner and I paid for that one! Wine here is not too expensive, especially bearing in mind the quality. A note to say that the Patatas Bravas plate was excellent on this occasion, because the potatoes were indeed crispy. Our favourite plate, for all three of us, was however the ‘Vegetable Spring Rolls’. These were absolutely fabulous, such a great texture. If this plate was regularly featured on the menu, I am sure it would be a very popular choice. The provision of a sweet chilli dipping sauce is a masterpiece of culinary inspiration. The music for all of these events was a duo singing covers of popular songs accompanied by acoustic guitars. They use guitar mics to amplify the music an their vocals. On previous occasions the band have not been too loud; sadly tonight they were. There were times that we couldn’t hear each other speak, and my Partner had to twice ask the band to tone it down. There is a time and place for loud music and this wasn’t it."

"A nice friendly atmosphere with attentive service. Food was excellent all of us had starters and a main course. Everyone's meals were well presented and a good size portion. The main was plentiful leaving no room for dessert on this occasion. We will definitely be returning soon."

"Came here about a month ago looking for a coffee and something at about 2pm on a Saturday afternoon. It looks very twee from the outside and the cakes do look so scrumptious. The waitress was very French and had limited English the guy in the kitchen assisted. We needed gluten free and fortunately they did a very nice chocolate orange muffin. But that was possibly the only thing I could have eaten apart from a Salad unfortunately. Coffee and tea ok ,nice large cups but not very hot contents. It's nice and bright inside and you are not squashed in at all. Some quirky wallpaper and obje'dart. Wasn't majorly expensive , £8 for 2 drinks and 2 cakes . Parking near might be a problem for most people. Small car park opposite. Good for taking a break from shopping in Roman Road. Just slightly lacking in atmosphere."

"If I could have given a 10 mark rather than a 5, I would! We had a fantastic meal last night as a part of Soulshine's Supper club. "I think this place has changed its name in Vegan Street Food or that is the most important marketing point now. The VEGAN food was amazing and the owner was so friendly and let me and my friends laugh while he served us and made our food. The food was so tasty and lively when you go by sure to grab something!"

"We happened upon this restaurant today and decided to have lunch with our 11-year-old daughter. The owner was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the food was fantastic. We especially loved the Turkish bagel and apple tea. Additionally, the cafe had a great selection of baklava, Turkish delights, teas, and more available for purchase to take home. If we find ourselves in the area again, we will definitely make a point to stop by!"

"I went for the braised steak sandwich, and while the combination of sweet fried onions, creamy mushrooms, and tender, juicy steak was spot on, the ciabatta was sadly soggy from all the sauce. I yearned for a crispy crunch with each bite. On the bright side, the sandwich was meatier than a Highland cow, and the service was as warm and welcoming as a cozy fireplace on a cold Scottish night. The only hiccup was the price, which felt a wee bit steeper than some other bistro options in the area. Now, for dessert, I indulged in a heavenly slice of pumpkin pie adorned with toasted almonds, an orange caramel drizzle, and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was like a sweet symphony for the taste buds, a delightful ending to the meal. In all, a lovely bistro experience, despite the minor ciabatta hiccup. If you're not penny-pinching, the dessert alone is worth the visit."

"We were greeted warmly and escorted to our table where we were offered drinks and menus. We had booked afternoon tea, which was absolutely delicious. We found ourselves needing more sandwiches so we ordered extra, which we had to pay for separately. We also needed to request another pot of tea. The restaurant had a peaceful and beautifully decorated ambiance. Our only disappointment was that our table was a bit too small for all five adults, and we could have used a third table for more comfort. Overall, thank you for the pleasant experience."
