"We decided to give this restaurant a try as everyone raved about it, but we were very disappointed. Firstly, we ordered paninis and received sandwiches with fillings instead. The mac and cheese was overcooked with an overwhelming amount of paprika. We also ordered scones with cream and jam, but the scone was dry, the cream tasted synthetic, and there was only a small dollop of jam with no butter. Throughout our meal, we did not receive any pleasantries like "please" or "thank you." Despite requesting no salad, it was still included on our plates without being acknowledged. No staff members came by to check if our food was satisfactory. Overall, we felt that the £48 we spent was not worth it."

Lovely staff and great quality, really tasty food. Very efficient, even on a busy day food is ready quickly. Best cafe in Kintyre by far.

Popped in for some supper. Started with the Calamari which was very nice. The seafood pizza however while nice was rather small for the price.

Food was amazing! Staff and owner Sandi went above and beyond for us! Can’t recommend this enough. Even returned our sons comforter that we left in the area in the post!

Nice harbourside cafe restaurant in Tarbert. Very busy with tourists and local customers. Friendly staff serve the best full Scottish breakfast anywhere. Has a good varied menu. Highly recommend. View menu

I recently visited this restaurant for brunch and ordered the scrambled eggs and bacon, which were cooked perfectly and served with a smile as always. I also tried the coffee Bon Bon, which I would definitely recommend.

Lovely cosy cafe, busy on a cold winter day. Cullen skink was delicious, great on a cold day. Haddock and chips also very good. Good portions as well all served very efficiently by the staff. Second visit here. Would recommend.

The staff at the restaurant were very friendly and talkative. Although the place was busy, we did not have to wait for a table. The restaurant was impeccably clean and inviting, with a charming atmosphere. We enjoyed a delicious meal and would highly recommend it to others! View menu

Wow! Such a lovely, cosy place for lunch looking out over the picturesque harbour on a cold day. Lunch of juicy garlic king prawns scampi was delicious. Staff were very attentive and welcoming, seemed to be lots of locals in too, great atmosphere. Also, big thanks for posting my new gloves to me as I left them on the table, very much appreciated, thanks again, added to a lovely trip up Loch Lomond.

When you look at the exterior it just looks like a local cafe. Inside it has a good local fishing theme and there's even an old tourist timetable from years gone by which sadly I still remember! The menu is large, varied and surprising in its contents but although we only had tea and cake I would come back to try the options. It's not often you will find affogato even on a vero ristorante italiano ancient una caffeteria. It is a busy bustling noisy chatty friendly place with no WiFi. And who cares. The atmosphere on a cold Scottish winter Sunday was warm and welcoming. If only there were more like this

"On our last day here, killing time before the ferry, decided to try luncheon here. No expectations either way. And we were TOTALLY wowed it was just excellent. Trying not to put too many superlatives in this review, but it was really, really ace. We had a lovely table by the window overlooking the harbour where you could see dog walkers, children in wellies, crabbing, and little boats coming and going. Classic Islay. Then I have to mention the food. Jeez, it was top notch, and huuuuuuuge portions. I don’t think we’ve ever had four such consistently generous and fulfilling portions before. We had the scallops (massive, juicy, plentiful , the Crofter’s Platter, which was cheeses, hams, sausage rolls, salad, bread, chutneys; the soup massive bowl, loadsa crispy sourdough bread, and the fish and chips which was so big it draped over the plate! All delicious. Our guy, Andrew, was superb, so attentive and smiley and always bringing us more things, spoons, drinks, more bread, spoons, he was great. And we had a lovely chat with the very friendly and nice proprietor. She was wonderful. Really seemed to care about the place and her team. She told us all about the hotel and stuff it was really cool. We will most certainly come back here next time. You can’t necessarily get the best table every time, but we won’t mind if we don’t! : Oh, also, lovely clean loos!"
