"The Boat Inn is a lovely venue even on a cold wet December evening in the week before christmas and looked promising when we arrived at 7:30 pm the time I had chosen when making a booking through this web site the evening before. I was surprised that I needed to register my car but this process and the fact you need to do it was clear and straight forward. We were greated in a warm and friendly way and were expected, the place was busy but not packed, we had quite a small table where staff or other quests had to squeze past making it a bit uncomfortable especially when a biger table not in the throughfare remined empty through out our stay. It soon became apparent however that all was not well when other guests were asking where their meals or drinks were. We also had to remind the 2 serving staff that we had not received our drinks 20 minutes after placing the order. Our food did take quite a while to come, especialy the main course but apart from luke warm onion rings it was most enjoyable. This seems such a shame for such a great venue as when you look at comments on this web site from 12 months ago the problems appear to be the same even down to the cold onion rings ! I would go back to the Boat Inn especially in the summer but I would hope not to experiance the same problems again."

"My partner and I took my mother to Cabana for an early Mother's Day meal, as we had previously enjoyed the food and experience there. However, our visit on Saturday was disappointing. My partner's burrito arrived without the meat filling, and despite there being more staff than customers, it took a long time to get their attention. The portion sizes were small and overpriced, and the drinks were expensive. The salt cod fritters were delicious, and when we mentioned the missing meat in the burrito, they adjusted our bill. It seemed like just a bad day for the restaurant, which was unfortunate as I wanted it to be a pleasant experience for my mum."

"I had the best experience in Bloc Pop Up today, I arrived to get a take away pizza with my young daughters but the waitress found us a table outside and so we decided to stay as it was sunny and a great evening to eat outdoor. We ordered margaritas pizzas and a plain burger, the food was absolutely delicious! The waitress were so very friendly and we really felt welcome there. This doesn’t always happen when we go out for dinner as my daughters are very young and as every child they can be quite noisy and messy but the waitresses really made us feel good! I will surely go back as we live very close! Thank you thank you thank you!! Absolutely stars!!!"

"I regret that I have to significantly downgrade my previously glowing review. Very disappointing Sunday lunch experience at the Barge in Woolstone today. Dirty foggy glasses covered with specks of limescale and stubborn lipsticks stains, a House Pinot Grigiot that tasted like a cocktail of citric acid mixed with anti-freeze which made my taste buds shrivel, soggy roast potatoes, vegetables that tasted of water... But the drop too much was what was served to three of us as a Slow cooked half-chicken : little more than a rather dry and tasteless leg with a bit of breast attached! The Manager explained that this was the new spec of their supplier !! So be warned everybody, it sounds like a large leg now qualifies as half a chicken !!! I leave two stars because the staff is nice and the manager was kind enough to give us a discount, but I 'm sorry to say that I 've had better meals at Motorway services!"

"We decided to go to Heanton Court again based on our previous positive experience. Upon arrival, we ordered drinks and chatted with the bartender. We were seated at a table and given ample time to peruse the menu. The waitress was friendly as we ordered a salmon dish and three steak pies. After a 30-minute wait, the waitress informed us that the salmon was unavailable, leaving us with only two steak pies. Despite the hiccup, we received our food. For dessert and coffee, there was a slight delay in getting our coffee. The waitress apologized for the oversight. Although she was polite and apologetic, it slightly dampened our evening, especially since it was Mother's Day and our son had just returned to Chicago. Despite this, we have enjoyed our previous visits to Heanton Court and hope for more attentive service in the future. Thank you."

"Food was very nice and all clearly cooked from ingredients on the premises. Slightly disappointed that three items from the menu were not available as they had run out (this was at 7.00pm on Saturday evening, I would understand if this happened later on in the evening). We found that the raspberries for one of the deserts were also unavailable. Another niggle is that bitter shandy is charged at the same price as a full pint. When asked if this was correct the barmaid told us that this is because lemonade costs the same as bitter. (Not sure if that is strictly true). Having said that service overall was good and the food was very good and would recommend a visit."

"We don like the bugle Horn . But don't book via open table . They never had our booking . on their booking number or our name . I did receive the confirmation e mail and reminder . But they didn't have a record of it .So we got seated in the bar area Where we were on our own . The reception was quite cold could not accommodate us in the restaurant . We know it's a busy vintage in . They definitely not rushed off their feet . So that dammped little bit the whole experience"

"Our OpenTable booking failed as The Angel had no record of our booking but were able to accommodate us. Surroundings nice. Waitress friendly. Service diabolical. Slow (short-staffed maybe) and missing expected things like cutlery on the table, no offer of plates when we had sharing starters. Food took forever to come and arrived in dribs and drabs with long gaps in between. Food was overpriced and standard was low. My steak was tough and the worst I have had in a long time. Others in our group weren't impressed with their choices either. Definately won't bother again. Very disappointing."

"The staff at the restaurant were friendly and the roasts were tasty. However, despite the restaurant being busy, we waited over an hour for our meal. We had a toddler with us and no one informed us of the long wait or provided updates. We had to ask where our food was. The roasts were good value, but my husband's burger, which was more expensive than the roast, was served cold. We were disappointed that no offers were made for another drink. This experience may deter us from returning in the future, which is unfortunate as the venue seemed nice."

"After hearing rave reviews, my dining companion and I were eager to try The Bull for the first time. While we enjoyed our lamb Sunday dinner, we felt that there could have been more vegetables. The menu promised 'Karoten and Papageien', but only one of each was included. The addition of salad leaf to a roast dish seemed out of place. The lamb itself was delicious and tender. Perhaps a rosemary-based seasoning would have been more appropriate than a Yorkshire pudding."

"Not often I have a rant. And I’m not a tight arse by any stretch of the imagination. But adding a 10% service charge on a bill is taking the absolute p” Hard Rock Cafe Manchester your calculator really needs new batteries. The bill came to 183.56, 10% is not 22. Taking the 10% before discounts is a little bit of a penny pinching exercise. If I get good service Ill leave a tip, it’s normally a couple of quid. For someone to bring a plate of food from a kitchen to a table. It’s hardly rocket science or brain surgery, your staff are not saving lives or fighting wars. Why do you need me to subsidise their wages when you have to pay your staff at least minimum wage. I’m sure as a group, there is enough profit to pay them more. The hidden cost of a service charge leaves a bitter taste after a great meal, great cocktails and great service. Speaking to a member of staff, their reply was, many places are doing it. So why follow suit, many places serve **** food, would you follow that? I often seek out hard rock cafes in holiday destinations and have eaten and bought merch in many of them. Unfortunately this has soured that, I’ll be steering clear now. A word to all visiting Hard Rock Cafe. Check the bill. You can refuse the service extortion charge. Takes the p nearly as much as the ULEZ."

"We loved our meal at Hard Rock! So nice to eat real American food after being overseas for so long. However, I have to admit I was a little disappointed with the table set up. There are no booths, just cheap looking tables and chairs that you could have found in a school cafeteria. I have definitely been to nicer Hard Rock cafes"

"Warmly welcomed and served promptly and pleasantly after being seated. Our waitress was very helpful and well informed and provided various options/suggestions. Meal was very good and well presented and served promptly. Only issue was we had hoped to have coffee at the end of the meal. This was never offered so we decided to pay up and leave."

"I made a reservation for dinner with friends during the week, but when we arrived, there was no table reserved and the pub was quite crowded with people drinking and playing pool. We had checked the menu online beforehand and were told that it would be the same on the day. However, there were some discrepancies - for example, the chicken bites did not have a choice of sauces as advertised online and the description of the food was different. Despite this, we decided to order the chicken bites. Unfortunately, when the food arrived, we were very disappointed. The fries looked pale and seemed to be similar to frozen oven chips from the supermarket, served in a plain white bowl. The breaded chicken bites were served in a separate white bowl and had no sauce as mentioned on the menu. When we asked for the sauce, the server seemed confused and eventually brought some sauce drizzled on top. The chicken bites were dry and tasteless, and the overall presentation of the food was lacking, with everything just placed on cheap white plates and bowls. It seemed that the quality of the food did not match what was shown on the website. Additionally, we had a dog jumping up at us while we were trying to eat. Overall, while the pub may be a good spot for drinks, the food was subpar. I wish I had taken photos to show the disparity between what was advertised online and what we were served.
