"I regret that I have to significantly downgrade my previously glowing review. Very disappointing Sunday lunch experience at the Barge in Woolstone today. Dirty foggy glasses covered with specks of limescale and stubborn lipsticks stains, a House Pinot Grigiot that tasted like a cocktail of citric acid mixed with anti-freeze which made my taste buds shrivel, soggy roast potatoes, vegetables that tasted of water... But the drop too much was what was served to three of us as a Slow cooked half-chicken : little more than a rather dry and tasteless leg with a bit of breast attached! The Manager explained that this was the new spec of their supplier !! So be warned everybody, it sounds like a large leg now qualifies as half a chicken !!! I leave two stars because the staff is nice and the manager was kind enough to give us a discount, but I 'm sorry to say that I 've had better meals at Motorway services!"

I had a business lunch here. The staff were very attentive. I enjoyed the lamb skewers and a mini desert with a great flat white coffee. It's a great place for a quick business lunch. There's plenty of parking and nice seating outside.

Our host Allison was down to earth, made us feel at home and the service as well the food was excellent. The Barge was warm and inviting. I was amazed at how clean, tidy and hygienic the toilets were, I did mention this to our waitress. All pubs and restaurants should follow your lead! Overall a great dining experience. Thank you

I've been going here on and off since 1986 as it used to be my local. The Thai chicken skewers were a nice idea, but lacked flavour. The waitress who served us was nice and friendly, but could benefit from some more training/experience. Overall, it was a nice place for a meal, but I have had better experiences there. In the past I would have given it a firm 4 star rating. Plenty of car parking.

Had an excellent dinner here. We were a little concerned at first as it was 15 mins before someone took our drinks order, but after that everything was great. The staff were really friendly and the pub itself is really comfortable with decent outside seating and good car park. The food was absolutely sublime. I got the lamb koftas and it was one of the nicest pub meals I've ever had. Every mouthful was delicious. Highly recommended.

Food was ok, the fries were great actually. We were 5 people had 3 Korean chicken, one fish and chips and one steak. Was all good and nothing to complain. Shared bread to start with that could have been fresher. We had no alcoholic drinks and paid £120 in total. What really made me give 1 star less is the service. One waitress simply stood 10min chatting at another table even though the restaurant was full. She was not paying great attention during the rest of the time either.

One of the best meals I 've had in Milton Keynes! My partner and I visited one Tuesday evening without a booking and they were happy to accommodate us. The food was outstanding! I had their Duo of Lamb , lamb steak and a small shepherd 's pie, which was perfectly flavoured, not too fatty steaks and excellently portioned. My partner had their signature burger and this was just as excellent. Well cooked to maintain flavour and not dry out, with a good balance of flavours and well portioned. The whole experience was excellent and we will be going back many more times.

Was very disappointed as this place looked delightful online. The starter was absolutely beautiful- however the Sunday roast was disappointing at best. Sad soggy boiled potatoes, barely even enough roast for a small child. Furthermore, the vegetables were forgotten about which there was no apology when they finally brought them. One waitress was working really hard and seemed nice and polite however the other was unhelpful. Generally was disappointed by the staff and the atmosphere here. Oh and to rub salt into the wound the price was ridiculously extortionate. Wouldn't recommend to a friend!

What a lovely restaurant! It was very quiet but it was Tuesday (29th December) and I like quiet anyway. This was my first time here and I found it to be very clean, it was decorated beautifully, very pretty and sparkly! It had a lovely calm, cozy atmosphere. The girls serving were absolutely brilliant, very friendly, nothing was too much trouble and they were very polite and respectful. The manager should be very proud of them. The food was delicious, a little pricier than where I would usually go but you pay for what you get and it was worth every penny. It's worth mentioning they are also dog friendly, we didn't have to eat in the bar, the top area is fine for dogs making it a great place...

"Heading to the near Craufurd Arms for a gig and looking for something to eat beforehand we happened across Zouk Lounge quite by accident and as we all enjoy Lebanese food decided to give it a try after first checking that there was plenty of veggie options (which there was) as 2 of our 3 strong party are vegetarian. Gabriella (from Romania) was our charming waitress who seated us and was very informative when it came to enquiring about the various veggie options on offer. She recommended the ‘Lobia’ dish to me (Lebanese spiced whole green beans cooked with fresh tomato sauce) which I then ordered whilst my brother and our friend also choose veggie options and we then decided to share these amongst us all and also decided to add a couple of side dishes. Very impressed with all the food served to us; all freshly cooked, nicely presented, tasted delicious and served to us in a timely fashion. No complaints. After dinner Gabriella enquired if we’d like to relax in their Shisha lounge located at the rear of the restaurant whilst she prepared a shisha pipe and some aperitifs for us. We accepted her offer and retired to the shisha lounge. Once Gabriella had served our aperitifs she enquired as to whether I would like to take control of the music in the lounge over their Bluetooth connection which I gladly excepted and we enjoyed ourselves so much that we decided to stay a little longer for another round of cognac and G T’s before we headed off to the nearby gig; only just arriving before the show started in the end as we’d spent nearly a full 2 hours in Zouk Lounge. All in all, a really enjoyable dinner; fantastic food, a charming and friendly waitress (Gabriella) and a real surprise and extra treat to learn of the shisha bar at the rear of the restaurant after our meal. We will definitely be back for a return visit the next time we are in the area."
