"a relaxed atmosphere with friendly service. the pina colada, strawberry daiquiri and espresso martini were really good! huge size, tasteful drinks- impressive! jj tater zets were spicy, jalapeños and melted cheese. I barely shared it with someone because I enjoyed them so much. the pork replacement ribs were massive, it filled the whole plate and then some. they were super delicate and fall out of the bone. the sauce was tasty, not transferred. Finally, the Cajun chicken tacos beef chili tacos were satisfied. 3 tacos in each order plus rider and another side. the tacos were generously filled. this small place is super busy really fast, so they come earlier in the day or late in the night."

"Every time I dine at The Black Horse, it is consistently a delightful experience. The interior design is charming, and the staff members are exceptionally welcoming and kind. The menu always offers a delicious selection to choose from. In fact, my friend and I were discussing during our meal that we have never had anything to complain about in all the times we have eaten here. The team at The Black Horse truly deserve recognition for their hard work. Thank you, Tracy Palmer."

"On this occasion, a mixed experience. Met friends at 5pm for drinks. Table already booked for 8pm to dine. Bar busy, tables full of dirty glasses. We were invited to share a long table with another party. I made two trips to the bar with about sixteen empty glasses to make space for new drinks. Great to see the place so busy as it's our only local. My husband and his mates are regulars every Friday night, often on other days too. Unfortunately on this particular visit there was no draught beer or cold white wine. The reason for no hand-pulled beer was “The manager is cleaning the lines”. Yes really!!! Tea-time on December 29th whilst the pub and restaurant were heaving… It gets better!!! “The manager was still cleaning the lines over one hour later”. My husband and his friends drank Guinness, not their drink of choice but they are forgiving chaps. Apparently Howard who had arrived before us ordered a pint of cask beer and when he expressed his dismay at the timing of the line-cleaning was told, “if you don’t like it you can go somewhere else”. When I found my Chardonnay to be quite warm, I went to the bar and asked the barman if there was any “cold” white wine, he mauled my glass and said “it’s been in the fridge”, I replied “but it’s not cold”, he offered to put some ice in it. I didn’t want ice in my wine, it’s supposed to be served nicely chilled without the need for ice to water it down. To my surprise the barman offered to sell me a whole bottle of wine (presumably with a bucket of ice). I opted for ice and a dash of soda in my warm wine. Thinking ahead I asked if there were any other bottles of Chardonnay in the fridge so that I might have a glass of my favourite wine with a meal later on. The barman could offer no assurance, to be fair he seemed a little out of his depth, some further training will resolve this in the future. I attempted to discuss my experience with Johnny the restaurant manager when he came to our table later in the evening, he was uninterested, unapologetic and simply said, “We’ve been busy”. The food was ok, not fine dining but enjoyable and served to a good standard as we’ve come to expect from the Broughton Inn. I still feel disappointed by the shoddy attitude of certain staff members that evening. In the absence of an alternative within walking distance from our homes we will continue to spend our money there but with less enthusiasm than before. My current opinion of the management remains low."

"OMG!! Where do I start!! From the moment we walked in we were greeted by the beautiful Paige who was an absolute dream soo friendly and the service from her was 5star We both ordered the beer battered fish and chips and we both agreed was the best we have ever tasted Beautifully presented and the taste was sensational Then of course we couldn’t resist a pud so we opted for the honey pot Can I just say this was Michelin star The presentation was unreal and we were both in heaven from the very first bite!! I asked Paige if I could speak to the manager as we were both in awe of everything Paul the assistant manager came over what a lovely guy a credit to this establishment We will be back by far the best meal we have ever had Thank you to Lee (head chef) for producing amazing food and of course the beautiful Paige and lovely Paul for the service This is a really special place and we will be back Big pat on the back to the wonderful staff You are amazing!! See you soon x"

"Receptionist Couldn’t fine our Open Table booking, but they had plenty of tables available so not a problem, but might have been had they been busy. We chose the Sunday roast beef. Cabbage was a little on the cool side. Beef was quite fatty and fairly tough, considering that it was 28 day aged. Roast potatoes were very good, as were the parsnips and carrots Soft drinks expensive small lemonade and lime £2.45) Overall value fair."

"As it‘s been said, there is a separate vegan menu available with quite a lot of options for a „normal“ restaurant (3 starters, 5 mains and 3 desserts). We had the Winter Salad, Soup of the day (a separate vegan one with parsnip and apple), the Tomato Tarte and the Wrap with relish. Everything was delicious and very fresh. For dessert, we ordered a (warm) slice of apple pie, which was excellent as well. Highly recommend this place!"

"I encountered an issue when they couldn't find my reservation from OpenTable, but thankfully I had a printed copy of the confirmation with me. They did manage to seat us, so I recommend booking directly. It took an hour from our arrival to placing our order. The food was excellent, but the service was quite slow when the restaurant was busy. On the positive side, the staff was very polite and friendly. It's a nice place to enjoy a quiet meal."

"What a difference a couple of days can make! The food was just as delicious as during our first visit, but the service was a different story. It's been a long time since we've encountered such a long list of service issues, from the moment we arrived right through to the difficulties we faced when it came time to pay the bill—it was truly appalling. Our friends even wondered why we had chosen Balloch House for this dining experience, despite the high quality of the food."

"The Broughton Inn is a pleasant chain owned pub with traditional wood beam interior the type you would expect in a rural historic building that is over 150 years old. We visited for a pre Mothers Day meal with my parents and as they are in their eighties it was good to see that access was easy for them. One thing that they commented on was that parking was difficult as there were a lot of commercial vans taking up car parking space and they struggled to find somewhere to park. The food was very good and certainly good value for money. The waitress that served us was pleasant and attentive. The only criticism that we all agreed on was that the ambient music was a bit too loud. I am sure it didn't bother the other guests but for us it made conversational a little difficult as my parents are both a bit hard of hearing. That apart I would certainly recommend giving the Broughton Inn a visit."

"Despite arriving 30 minutes early, we were seated immediately, and our drinks came out very quickly. I was impressed by the variety on the Sunday menu. We each ordered different roast dishes, and they were all outstanding. I tried the triple platter featuring beef, pork, and turkey. The vegetables were excellent too—at least three varieties among our group of five! The dessert selection was fantastic; I could have chosen at least three options. I ended up going with the apple and rhubarb crumble accompanied by hot custard to round off my meal. It was great value too, coming in at around £28 per person, which included two pints. And let's not forget the friendly and attentive staff!"

"I made a reservation through Opentable, but when we arrived, there was no record of it. They informed us that they don't work with Opentable. Fortunately, we didn’t have any trouble getting a table. All four of us ordered the three-meat meal, which was supposed to include beef, turkey, and pork. We received beef that was tough and filled with gristle (our dog enjoyed it when we got home), turkey, and gammon instead of pork. The meal was lukewarm, and the Yorkshire pudding was overcooked. The dessert was decent, especially the apple pie with custard served as a mini dessert alongside coffee. However, my friends ordered the Banoffee pie, and were disappointed by the very small portion they received."

"To this day. Roast beef came dry and cold. I could say before it sent the table back. Odd would send this to customers. Second step was better, but still dry meat was brown throughout the way. Cauliflower cheese (extra secondary dish) was simply cooked with a tasteless cream sauce. Yorkshire Pud was burned and smoked. Too bad when we've been a few times recently and every other time the food was great."

"Came in for lunch on a Sunday. Car park is a bit small for the size of the pub, but not too bad. Service was good and the staff friendly, reasonable selection of drinks available and the food was served quickly. The Sunday roast was a good sized portion and the veg was tasty, the meat was a little dry but not too bad. Seems a good place if you have a reasonably large group as they have quite a lot of large tables. Price per person: £20–30 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4"

"Cozy space, friendly servers and nice service, but food was terrible. My fiance and I shared a barbecue chicken pizza and a calzone — the calzone was okay but rather unremarkable (especially for the price), but the pizza was just awful: far too salty, barely any trace of proper barbecue, and without any exaggeration at all the chicken bits tasted of fish instead of actual chicken. Did not want to cause any fuss so I didn 't bother speaking to a manager after being offered the option after giving feedback — this is the first and last time I 'll be dining here."

"The staff at the restaurant were very friendly and the roasts were delicious. However, the restaurant was busy and we ended up waiting for an hour for our meal, which was difficult as we had a toddler with us. Unfortunately, no one informed us of the long wait or updated us on the status of our order. While the roasts were tasty and good value, the Nabenburger was better than the Brat but served cold. We were also not offered any additional drinks. It's disappointing because it's a beautiful place, but these issues need to be addressed in the future."

"we choose grange farm as a preferred opportunity place for our Friday dinner instead of eating locally in the city center. (calls to pay £16 to come with the taxi to them) normally we would not have any trouble over eating. my partner ordered the lamb shank and for the price of £20 we felt that the price-performance ratio did not correspond to the usual standards of grange farm. he had to attack for sweetness, as it was barely served with the dish. I had gone with a traditional gammon and iron, and I also felt underwhelmed by him (even if it was at least £8 less) as we often dine in greene king pubs and had better. unnecessary to say our waitress jess was brilliant, bar staff were as attentive as they are in the rule and how the alcohol flows, the disappointing food does not ruin ours. perhaps the cook could re-view the offer at both dressed!"

"food is usually good, I realised I put the wrong address on so I called the store to tell them the address is wrong and that I’m at work not at home. I ordered at 01:30, at 02:20 the delivery driver was knocking on the door at my house!!! waking up my whole family!! after realising I wasn’t there he called my phone and asked me where I was, I tried to explain but he barely spoke English, I ended up having to text him my location which is only 3 miles away from my house... at 02:50 delivery driver finally turns up with my cold food... I call the store and speak to someone who said he was the owner, he said he was sorry and will speak to the driver... that’s it... no word of a refund or an offer to send out some more food that’s warm... just sorry... disgraceful customer service and will not be using them again."

"If you like Sugar and salt this is the place for you. Tried a few dishes, all cream sauces taste the same and loaded with sugar. Pakora loaded with salt. Shame this place has declined, their curry sauce used to be the best years ago under the hotel, now everything is loaded with sugar and salt. Hope this place gets its self back to the good old days. Also they own the carry out at Hardgate cross besotted McHughs Estate agents, there are much better places like Rajani in Bearsden who deliver and don’t do re-heats even with the starters. They also don’t use colouring and their prawns are much larger. Hope the Bombay sort themselves out and get back to the good old days and cut back on colouring and additive’s and sugar salt. Fresh and no more reheats will get you back to the best in Clydebank. Please do it !!"

"was already at many places on this place and eating is always great. the service on Sunday was bad. 3 of us asked for the trio roast (turkey, rinderpork) to say that the truthahn was sold out (on Sunday at 3:30 o'clock). we asked for lamb or something else to replace it, but you said the whole dish was from the menu and we were not allowed 2 meats or a substitute. So two of us ordered bark, I ordered the lamb. the size of the lamb in comparison to the bark was actually funny my 2 friends laughing about the size of the meat part special (the rest, veg, kartoffeln etc were good). When we called the waitress, she went to the manager. the manager turned to the table and grabbed her cheeks, I said I should come here? she could not be less interested in this fiasko and had no interest in understanding the situation. essentially what it is. we ate what we had and wore. it's a shame. the atmosphere quality of eating was great. the service was quite poor. if I had let the people come back before, I would not have done it now."
