"I spent a wonderful afternoon in Gaucho with friends. We had a long relaxing lunch and we were not rushed in any way. I have been to several other London restaurants recently where the atmosphere has felt too clinical. I know it’s difficult in Covid times however we are still human beings and a warm friendly environment helps us feel special as well as being assured a “safe” visit. The service, the food and the atmosphere were all excellent. Well done Gaucho"

"A beautiful experience at Cafe Murano, this came highly recommended by family, and I was so pleased they were able to squeeze me in last minute, at the bar, for a pre-theatre supper (though booking is recommended! The staff were very friendly and able to recommend excellent dishes on the menu to help me decide. I opted for the Primavera Risotto, which was gloriously silky smooth risotto with yellow courgette, asparagus, and wafer-thin spring onion slices. It was light, fresh and very flavoursome, and not ‘claggy’ like some risottos can be. The rest of the menu looked delicious and I will definitely return with more people and for more courses! Whilst waiting I was served some focaccia and a dish of olive oil, both delicious. There is also a set menu which is £23 for two courses which looked great value too."

"The service here is so poor. The waitress was extremely rude and rather indifferent, I asked her for an additional menu since she gave us one to share between 3 people and she shrugged her shoulders like I had asked for something extraordinary. The prices are over priced for the quality, a poor quality bottle of Prosecco is £40, and despite getting two bottles they kept trying to rush us out. It was very rude. On top of this they expect you to pay service charge for their rather low quality service ! I don’t think we will be coming here again."

"The best part obviously was the singer. Primo Bar’s area is very cozy and nice. Comfy seats, olive that we ordered we’re not good. The asian waitress that served us seemed annoyed, unwelcoming and cold. Sometimes she would ignore guests by walking past them. At one point 6-7 irish men joined the bar by ruining the atmosphere (we felt like in a pub). We weren’t the only ones who felt annoyed by them. Shame that nothing was done about it since obviously they ruined one hour of pleasure listening to the singer. Overall, would come back for the music and ambience, but some improvements can be easily implemented."

"PJ’s is my neighbourhood gem. I love the food and the ambience. However, the waiter they had for us kept hovering above us like a helicopter. We had barely sat down when he came to take our order. I asked him to bring us the drinks menu. He brought them and stood there waiting. I asked him to give us five minutes to see what we would like to order. He finally got the message and left us. Throughout the dinner, he kept coming to us every five minutes, interrupting our conversation I hadn’t seen my friend for 6 months and we had a lot to catch up on) to ask us if everything was alright. Then when it came to asking for the bill, he either did a disappearing act or would not even look towards our table. I practically had to get up from my table and wave my white napkin to get his attention. I would have given my neighbourhood hangout and gem 5 stars if not for the waiter’s overbearing and overzealous behaviour. Be a bit more relaxed and treat people like guests in your establishment."

"It was another wonderful experience! We were in the restaurant to celebrate a friend's birthday and she loved the place, the food and especially the service. Carlos, Alex and of course Vincenccio were amazing! Thank you so much for being as many people as great people and treating us so well."

"Le Caprice is tucked away in Arlington Street in a surprisingly quiet spot behind the Ritz. If it sounds glam, it’s because it is. In a restaurant like that, the little details in service are what really set a place apart. We walked in with a booking and the maître d’ managed very discreetly and without me realising, to confirm a special little something that the s.o. had requested. Now that, is class. From our seats at the bar (we love the counter if you recall from my Bocca Di Lupo post I could see the maître greeting the regulars like a pro (handshake for the men, sometimes a hug for the ladies or a peck on the cheek). Even before we had a single bite to eat, we knew this...read more"

"Harry's Bar at Ironmonger lane is possibly one of the best high end pubs in City. The pub has a dining space on the first floor and drinking area downstairs. It even has designated private smoking area if you wish to try one of its fine cigars, which as the pub claims, if enjoyed with the heating and music, makes you feel as if you are in Cuba! They have a good selection of rum to go with the cigars Food is tastefully decorated and taste is top notch. Service is also good but what may pinch is the price. You may find price to be higher than average but it is certainly compensated by the quality service, ambiance and cigars which you can get here."

"Lovely. From start to end. This restaurant and the team of professionals running it were just tip top and executed at a high level. But! Without one really noticing them. Not fussy or overdone-just extremely competent and attentive to our entire visit. A welcoming Maitre d, hostess and coat check greeted us. A lovely pianist was gently playing-great background but could still hold a conversation and led to a table just perfect for our party. I don’t believe one could complain about any table choice-it’s a just right sized establishment. The menu selections are enough variety but not so many one needs to overthink order. If wine of particular importance? Guidance was offered but not pushed and their reserve visually looked well stocked and well curated. The two in our party who ordered were quite pleased to try something new based off suggestion by server and they both were surprised it met/exceeded what they had planned on ordering a familiar label. We had the tuna, yellow belly sashimi(2) beet salad as starters. The Dover Sole, Salmon w/poached eggs and the lamb as entree’s. Desserts we splurged and each ordered a choice: chocolate mousse dipped in /chocolate ganache, apple pie compote, cheese cake and creme brûlée. There was not a misstep in the entire dinner service. It was delicious, visually beautiful and we were delighted. The reason I gave 4 stars for value is I would not want to misdirect anyone who might be using my review to make a decision and misunderstand my intention. We felt it was a huge value. In this respect-to get all the elements written in review? Easily our tab could have been almost doubled at a few other dining choices we were contemplating for that night’s reservation. But this establishment is in Central London and 1 block behind Ritz Carlton. Dining in most restaurants of the caliber of Le Caprice in this area is a higher tab commitment. We felt worth every bit and then some. We each left vowing to return to Le Caprice."

"The food at this restaurant is excellent and reasonably priced. The staff is efficient and friendly. My only complaint is that the music is too loud for comfortable conversation. Lowering the volume would not detract from the atmosphere, I promise!"

"my friend and I went to capitulate for dinner to celebrate his birthday, as was capitula, we thought the only decent restaurant in blackheath. all the others seem to be pushing down quickly. we have been in the past often in the capitulas, and the food and services were good we had no appetizers and ordered only one main meal (black foam and black bell), because we were not huge hungry because we were eating a lot of birthday cakes earlier! we had a glass of wine and were offered a piece of bread. 35 minutes later we waited for our food. in this time no one came to ask if we were in order or offer us more drinks. I asked the manager if our food was ready. he said it would be 5 minutes without a statement of delay then disappeared 10 minutes later there was no sign of food or manager. That is why we decided to go because we lost interest in eating. we have to go and the manager came by. he told us the delay was due to a big party in the ground floor. this was not the case, there was a group of 8 people who had finished their meal for a long time. we were there earlier when it was much more business and the service was not so bad. while we waited, we saw a customer who had finished their meal, slipped £20 into the manager hand when he left. Perhaps the workers need bribe to provide good services? it is such a scandal, but another blackheath restaurant has become complicit and believes that it with the treatment of its customers without respect. I will vote for one with my feet and will not eat again in this restaurant. I will also leave everyone I don't know to go there"

"This was our first time visiting this restaurant . We booked for lunch being midweek it was quiet so we can’t fairly comment on what the ambience would be in evening. But….. fantastic food we sampled six tapas dishes and each of them had superb taste. And the service was excellent. We will certainly be back with the rest of our friends and family in tow !"

"Roz Ana is a hidden gem tucked away in the heart of the city. As an avid lover of Indian cuisine, my dining experience at this restaurant was truly delightful. From the moment I stepped in, the warm and inviting ambiance instantly transported me to a world of authentic Indian flavors. The staff at Roz Ana was incredibly attentive and friendly. They greeted us with genuine smiles and promptly escorted us to our table. Our server was well-versed in the menu, providing insightful suggestions while accommodating our dietary preferences. As for the food, it was an absolute feast for the senses! Every dish we ordered was meticulously crafted, presenting a perfect blend of spices and flavors. The variety on the menu left us spoilt for choice, and we ended up ordering the Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Biryani, and Paneer Butter Masala. Each dish was prepared to perfection, with the chicken and lamb being delightfully tender and succulent. The presentation of the food was also visually pleasing, showcasing the care and attention given to every detail. The portion sizes were generous, ensuring we left with satisfied palates and content stomachs. Additionally, the restaurant didn't compromise on authenticity; the flavors were true to traditional Indian cuisine while also offering a modern twist. What sets Roz Ana apart from other Indian restaurants is its commitment to catering to vegetarian and vegan diners. The extensive vegetarian options on the menu impressed me, highlighting the restaurant's dedication to inclusivity. The only reason I'm not giving a five-star rating is the slightly inflated prices. While the quality and taste of the food were top-notch, it would have been more affordable to dine here regularly if the prices were a tad lower. However, considering the overall experience and the high-quality ingredients used, it's understandable why they command a premium. My conclusion, Roz Ana is the perfect place to satisfy your craving for Indian cuisine. Whether you're a regular fan or an adventurous newcomer, this restaurant guarantees a cultural and culinary experience that will leave a lasting impression. Despite the slightly higher prices, I will definitely be returning to indulge in the rich flavors and warm atmosphere again!"

"my partner and I only spend a magical weekend in edinburgh, but unfortunately whigham’s was certainly not the highlight. Although it seems very promising, with beautiful decoration, a good atmosphere and welcoming and efficient employees, it really lets us eat down. I ordered the cullen skink, which was warming but not aromatized. the starter of my partner was the best we ordered. our main dishes of fishcake and chili huh were missing taste again. my fish cake tasted almost inconspicuously from my suppenstarter and the chili huhn was extremely mild. we ordered a pinotgrigio, which was expensive for a low quality bottle, and we did not hang around after eating. it is a...read more"

"A few problems with this restaurant in my view. The service was slow and inconsistent. At one point our coffee arrived with a bowl of sugar, even though we said we didn’t want sugar. It was taken away just to remove the sugar bowl, forgotten about and then arrived some minutes later. The food was, at best, average. My wife quite liked her pate and seafood linguine. However, although my fish soup was OK, the bouillabaisse was nothing like any bouillabaisse I’ve had before. A few pieces of fish, a couple of prawns in, what appeared to be, a thickened version of the fish soup again. Totally insubstantial. Unfortunately we were also close to the service lift so had to put up with endless banging and clattering. It was surprising that the service was so poor because the restaurant was probably less than 25% full. Not great value for money."

"Apparently they were very busy (just as a side note I booked in advance) so we were seated in the downstairs “breakfast room” rather than in the lobby level afternoon tea room (the room that is advertised with the nice tea sets and cute sofas an quirky tea room interior). That was already very disappointing. The room was in the lower ground level, it had a few breakfast tables, but otherwise felt empty and in addition the doors were closed. Luckily, another family arrived and was seated in the same room as us, so we felt a little less isolated and abandoned afterwards. The food was not even average in terms of quality, the sandwiches and scones were OK, but the cakes (although there was a selection of them) were not good at all. They were dry and somewhat tasteless. Definitely not reflecting the price! The friendliness and kindness of the waitress was the best part of the experience. She was extremely nice to us and to our dog. Overall, the afternoon tea at the Egerton House Hotel was disappointing and massively overpriced (we paid £184 for two including one glass of champagne each and the dog’s menu). The only benefit of this experience (or let’s say the only experience) is that you can bring your dog. But is it worth it? The answer is most definitely NO!!!!!!"

"In my first course, I was served three slices of bread with a variety of toppings. One was delicious (mushrooms in cream), but the other two were diced tomato and something bland that lacked flavor. They were both unimpressive and uninspiring. For my main course, the sauce surrounding the pasta and meatballs was cold, and even after bringing it to my attention, it was only slightly warmed up. However, the dessert, a Panettone bread pudding, was a standout success."

"it has another wonderful meal with the family. we all selected from the fixed price menu and chose the 3 courses. it had changed since our visit, but equally pleasant. the restaurant was quite busy, although it was a Thursday night. the personal was, as always, very pleasant and attentive. great night outside. we seem to be a regular visitor with different groups of friends and family and all enjoy the eating and ambiente."
