"we have been ordering for years since every week of chutney moes! always hot, fresh at the time, most of the time early at delivery. on the phone of the restaurant there are always polite and well gifted riders. we also have in the restaurant that was exceptional and the food and service was also exceptional. Although they have recently increased prices there, it remains competitive and worth the money, there is also a decent discount if they order online directly. I personally would not order any delivery anywhere else, as I resist and chutney moes is the most consistent Indian takeaway that I have found in over 5 years and that is very rare! if they are looking for a very good takeaway curry, then they are not looking further. if they are looking for an exceptional culinary experience, then visit chutney moes."

"I recently enjoyed a wonderful set meal at this restaurant. The chicken tikka and seekh kebab starters, along with the salad, onion salad, and minted yogurt, were all delicious. The portion sizes were generous and the naan bread was soft and excellent. However, two of the main courses were somewhat disappointing as they were too sweet. The chicken tikka masala and mattar paneer seemed overly sweet, almost like a dessert. It's a shame because the underlying flavors were good. I would have given a higher rating if it weren't for this issue. We had booked online and received a text message notifying us that delivery would be delayed by 40 minutes. Initially, we considered canceling our order. However, after making a phone call, our meal was delivered in just 30 minutes. It's definitely worth calling to place your order!"

"The New Anand is how I remember Indian restaurants the decor is a mixture of Rennie Macintosh and a minimalist scheme executed by the set designers of Barbie after a night on the razz. The exterior resembles the typical Victorian ferry buildings you find on the end of a pier walking through the door is like stepping into your silver Delorean to find yourself emerging into the late 70 's early 80 's ... the menu is wonderfull with at least 2 versions of every curry you can name, they still give you popadoms and spicy onions to munch on as you attempt to navigate/decode a menu which would confound Alan Turing and the team at Bletchley Park however the food itself is utterly divine. Tandoori tikka mix is arrives sizzling and its big chunks of succulent fizzling chicken reeking of fresh herbs and spices. The korma ordered arrived as a hot dish of creamy brown heaven, medium sized chunks of chicken cooked perfectly in a smooth sweet coconut and spice sauce not one single drop was left by the end. The fried rice was as full of flavor as it was colourful, and moist, despite a search no one single dry chunks stuck together could be found. Portions outrageously generous, there is a buffet option (bain marie) which was gorgeously aromatic, fragrant and piping hot numerous plates passed by bulging with an impressive mixture of utterly delicious helpings. The drinks were decent and affordable, from rose wine to a perfunctory range of spirits for beer aficionados they do have the amber stuff chilled on draught. Visit often, enjoy the food, savour the moment, you will find New Anand a rare drama free oasis of calm no loud people on phones taking plate pictures for their TikTok/Instagram/Meta followers here. Curry fans are strongly encouraged to take a trip Back to the Future before it is, one day, lost to the past. 5 Marty McFly stars Update just as brilliant as Doc Brown 's design for the flux capacitor, the dishes are as fresh as if they had just been delivered by a kid on hover board. "Average food, average atmosphere, grumpy staff. Overall an indian restaurant with uninspired and medium cooking. Dishes looked all kind of the same: some red to brown curry with something in it. We had to pay extra for your rice I have never encountered a restaurant before where you have to pay for your rice to add to your curry. Recommended only if all other restaurants in this area are too busy..."

"Terrible visit. Theywere nice at first. I arrived no reservation at 4.15 pm. Very early and I said I 'd wait but they seated me anyway. The older man/ owner waited on me ...he was nice. We crossed wires when I requested if the music be turned down just a touch. He then lowered it almost to nothing. I have autistic spectrum issues.i wear ear defenders and wax earplugs. I know I am different and I can handle some music. I am careful and go to dine outside busy hours. I don 't ride the bus between 4-6 because too many people and too noisy. Anyway I spoke to older man again after my main meal, when he was clearing away.... to express I like the music I just wishing/enquiring if it could be turned down wee a bit. Finally we got a nice 5/10 volume. I was I only patron in the restaurant and he could have said no. I was easily going to have £30 bill. About 5 pm a delivery driver enters into the restaurant. i knowthis because he brings i delivery bags and sits and plays on his phone.Though I don 't speak Pakistani I knew the older gentleman had told the delivery driver about me and volume of music. About 10 mins in the delivery make turned up volume looking at me as he did. I startled and went to put my eardefenders over my wax plugs already in. He saw my reaction turned it down. He turned it up quite a lot. My meal was over I was just finishing my glass of wine and the older gentleman and I were exchanging niceties. ... Smirking and smiling the delivery man did it again! I was very startled and fed up and jumped to leave. Terrible. No respect. Awful way to end my 1 time visit. I will never go back. I spoke to this young man as I called him directly. He 's not young 35 I 'd say. I told him how unkind he was and he just laughed and smiled and smirked. Like his mother was scolding him. He obviously is spoiled or something to behave in such a way. No knowledge of how to build and keep a restaurant. Patrons are paramount. I was soft and kind....not rude....not demanding. I felt awful. Still feel awful."

"We visited here after it being recommended by friends and family, they said to go on a Sunday and try the buffet. We visited today and we were very disappointed, the car park is far too small and everyone parked terribly so had to park on a nearby street (which is no fault of the restaurant) We then went inside and were pointed in the direction of a table where we would be seated. The waiter asked if we were having the buffet or normal menu. We said buffet, we then helped our self to the food which there was a poor choice of, we both had chicken pakoras and onion bhajis, poppadom and pickle tray to start, they were all very dry as if they had been out all day! We went back and had some of the bhuna curry which was nice but only one choice of rice and plain naan. After we had finished our meal we went to pay the bill, and were asked if we had had a Long Island iced tea we had not we had 2 x Pepsis, he then proceeded to charge us for the Long Island and pint of beer that we had not had, we only knew this as we asked for the bill after. They refunded the difference but with no real apology. Overall would not recommended at all Katmandont!"

"The gentleman who met us at the door and who gave us our table thought he was doing us a favour, the cutlery was reached over to my wife in a fashion that even Mc Donalds would have thought was poor ! the water was brought to the table in a bottle and not poured when I asked for a soda water and lime he proudly broadcasted no soda water . The price for 2 courses which we shared and a coke was £44. When we went the gentleman behind the counter seemed to question us as to how we paid ,my wife assured the man that the entire bill was paid on the saucer on the table he then announced that we had indeed the wrong bill to which I announced yes that I thought it was expensive. He then highlighted that either we were owed a pound or we owed him a pound! Im sorry sir on a Sunday I dont have the strength for such nonsense. Pretty much a v bad experience the waiter must go and go immediately. Any body can make a mistake. Bad manners and incompetence has no place in this market segment I would have thought. If you think Im putting up with that my friend u aint on this planet."

"27.12.21-I’ve ordered a tandoori chicken biriyani and a lamb biriyani last night. Tandoori biriyani was good but the lamb biriyani was utterly disappointing. This was our first order ever and we only ordered from Mystica was Spice Lounge was closed on 27 Dec. Lamb biriyani was like some boiled yellow rice with some mixed lamb!!! When I called and spoke to the chef he jotted my name down like he’s going to remember me next time when I order lol what a joke. Never ordering from here again!!!! 08.03.22- My above comment was from 27 Dec. I decided to give Mystica a second chance and they have delivered a gold standard service this time! I ordered two chicken tikka biriyani. On top of that they made a test lamb biriyani because of my previous experience. All of them tasted so delicious and I promise them we are going to order from them in future. Absolutely amazing service by the manager and a good recovery at the end! Keep up the good service"

"So sad. I had high expectations having read the reviews but it was one of the worst Indian's I've ever eaten in my life. I'll keep this brief. Food turned up lukewarm, not terrible as I'm happy to pop in the microwave. The mint sauce was a disgusting luminous green, tasted of the smell of cif lemon household cleaner. I've never in nearly 50 years had a mint sauce this artificially coloured, it was luminous bright green. The onion bahjis just tasted of salt no natural flavour or sweetness from onions. There was no fresh herbs, flavours felt like they came from all the same base sauce and not a good one. Naan was wet and flavourless. After trying I threw it all in the bin. Please tell me there's a better indian nearby as this is not what i'm used to."

"Will start by saying how friendly the staff are here, they couldn’t do enough for our party of 8 so thank you. New owner is very welcoming too and it’s nice to see the owner liasing with customers. Food was absolutely delicious. Bhajis are something else, a must try! The chicken was melt in the mouth and the curries were very flavoursome. Chef cooked our curries to just the right spice heat as requested. We will recommend and definitely return. I would like to see some of the lighting off for a more relaxed cosy feel as it’s very bright in there, that’s my only negative and only reason for not giving 5 stars. Thanks again to all the staff"

"Had food here and the carvery was fine. Bar staff were sharp and nice. the place is very big but I have never been in there late. Loads of ex footballers come to the pub for events so it has a been football following and live music. Not sure if it felt like my kinda evening venue so I never tried. Its the same sort of thing as the Bell and the Carpenter. They all start to blend one into the other with styling, menus and target markets. If its your thing go for it."

"On arrival we were warmly greeted and seated straight away. Our drinks order was taken and these arrived quickly, we were also able to order poppadoms and pickles whilst deciding on what to eat. If I was to have one slight issue, and this is a common problem with many restaurants, it would be that the soft drinks range should be just as extensive as the alcohol range etc. and of similar size ranges, not just tiny little bottles. As our group had not met up for some considerable time we did take quite a while before placing our main food order, but this was not a problem for the staff as they were available when we required them but they remained in the background and were not pushy or overbearing in trying to get us to place our order. The food menu was wide ranging and well explained, the staff were also more than willing to alter dishes to accommodate dietary requirements where possible and were knowledgable about the ingredients of each dish. The quality of the food was very good and it was evident that care and attention had been put into each and every dish that we had. The food was well presented and portion sizes were plentiful, certainly everyone was very well fed. After our main course was cleared we were provided with hot towels to freshen our hands, and with out bill we received chocolates for everyone. A good time was definitely had by everyone. I thank all the staff at the Joy Raj for a great evening out."

"Absolutely diabolical. The Waiter was unfriendly. The food arrived. Although the sauces were good and the onion bhaji, the meat was horrible. The Lamb was dry as a bone and chewy. The Chicken, which I didn 't think you could get wrong, was chewy and grisly. They clearly buy the cheapest cuts of meat and scrimp on all costs. They have no pride in the food. We have been served watered down Kingfisher before. They have decorated and the place looks lovely, but the cheap meat is horrible. The Waiter asked us how our food was and then stood there looking confused when we said it wasn 't nice. Eventually he got the Manager who said they could make a new curry, but we said: 'with the same cuts of meat it won 't be any different. ' She said we 'll give you some money off. They gave us exactly £2.35 off each meal! No pride, no care. They clearly only care about profit. There were 2 other diners who also said they had a really bad curry, meat was chewy and horrible. We enjoy a good curry and this wasn 't one of them! To add insult to injury we got home and both have upset stomachs! This is our local curry house, but we will NEVER go again!"
