"I regularly visit St Davids with my family and have been coming for many years. This cafe is situated within the tourist information centre and there is also a gift shop and an interesting gallery on site, well worth a visit in its own right. I suspect some seasonal visitors might not realise there is a cafe here as it is slightly further to walk from the town centre/cathedral than some other options, which would be a shame as this is probably the best place for brunch in St Davids. This cafe has its own parking or you can easily walk to it from the main town centre. Last week I came twice for brunch and again for coffee and cake with family members and friends, we were all very happy with our food each time we visited. Consistently well cooked and of high quality. The portion sizes are generous and the meat was good quality. There are vegetarian breakfast/brunch options available as well as options for children. There is outside seating if the weather is good and the cafe is dog friendly with plenty of toilets available in the cafe and outside and space for the kids to run round outside the cafe. I really enjoyed the avocado toast with poached eggs and also the lemon and blackcurrant cake. My partner enjoyed the full Welsh breakfast and kids enjoyed the pancakes. There is a selection of board games available. Can't wait for our next visit!"

"Fantastic local gem! Firstly I love the perfectly made delicious bread. I popped in again recently and had the new pizzas. DELICIOUS!!!! mine had a touch of Rosemary on it which was just perfect. The rocket salad with parmesan sounds simple, but it was perfect with just the right amount of balsamic. Karen (the owner) is awesome and as I am someone with annoying allergies it's always so nice when a restaurant obviously knows exactly what's in their food and can advise you properly. The decor is also super with great practical, yet cool design. Love the tiles! This will definitely become a local haunt for me, finally somewhere that has fresh baked bread for the morning, coffee, toasted bread and delicious cakes for the day and now pizza other yumminess into the evening! Big fan!"

"I visited the restaurant on Remembrance Sunday and had a wonderful experience. The service was courteous and timely. The atmosphere was fantastic, capturing the charm of the small, quaint village of Axbridge perfectly. As for the vegetarian options, I was very pleased with the alternative offered on the Sunday lunch menu. The price per person ranged from £20 to £30. Overall, I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all as 5 out of 5."

"This restaurant review is in English. Beautiful place. I stayed at the Haddiscoe Lodge, which has 3 bedrooms and bathrooms. If you live in the city and need some peace, I highly recommend coming to Waveney Inn to relax. It is super peaceful and the views from the lodge are stunning. Canoe and kayak hire is available at Three Rivers, which is only a 5-minute drive away. They clean the hot tub daily and the prices are very reasonable. The kitchen is nice to cook in. This is my second visit and I am so glad I came back. Rooms: 5."

"I am sat here at the moment eating one of the least fussy but incredibly tasty burgers I’ve had for a long time. This cafe is great. A real feeling of community and heart with climate change info around, leaflets for a forthcoming comedy night, a loo complete with marker pen to leave a message, and charming staff. I see lots of complaint about the cost. There is information around about careful sourcing of ingredients and it tells. For those that want to pay 50p less for something tasteless in a place completely lacking in social conscience or any atmosphere, there is a Costa opposite. Personally I think this place is doing a fantastic job. Right, now off so sample their cakes..."

"It’s more of a good cafe than a restaurant and it is also a caravan and motorhome site plus wigwams colourful wooden weatherproof huts). It’s at Braewick not Brae which is 15 miles south. It has all the facilities that a caravan/ motorhome site needs. Electric hook up, drive over drains, black water disposals, clean water available, good parking surfaces. Problem is it takes a bit of finding these facilities! Even the pitches take a bit of locating as only a couple are numbered. All the rest have been washed off, blown away etc. The showers are looking old and are difficult to manage. There is a playground and the beach is 5 mins walk but bear in mind this is 1000 km north of London, nearest neighbours are Iceland and Norway so the water is refreshing. But the views are spectacular cliffs of red rock and in the sea a set of rock stacks the drongs) look like a Viking longship turned to stone. Wonderful to look at at midnight. You might see Foula, 40 plus km away. There are blow holes through the cliffs, take care. The Northmavine musicians play at Hillswickplus informal dancing for a great night out but it’s a 5 minute drive or an hours walk. Great place just needs an update."

"On our way to the Edinburgh fringe, we took time out to refuel ourselves and were so lucky to find this journey back in time at John Watt and Sons. If you seek out those wonderful atmospheric independent cafes and coffee houses, this will be an absolute treat for you. As soon as you step inside, it is clear that the owners and staff really care about the experience of sounds, smells and memorabilia from a past golden era. You can choose to sit in and select a meal from the well presented menu, we had the full breakfast which was piping hot and very filling. Or you can choose from the classic range of coffees and blends to take home at the deli style counter. Part of the experience is the decor, and if you finish your meal, take a few moments to take the staircase at the corner of the room and journey down to the cellar and their fascinating museum of genuine shop items from the 1940s and before. This is a cafe that should be a destination on everyone’s list because it’s good for the soul. Thankyou to the very friendly, attentive staff who clearly work very hard. When we are on our way to the fringe next year we’ll definitely call back."

"We had an off the moment visit to The Fox yesterday, which we often do. A beautiful day and my 3 Grandchildren wanted to walk to Aspenden and have a drink and a bowl of Rob's lovely chips. We all walked to The Fox and sat outside, which was lovely in the winter sun. Rob is so welcoming, even though rushed off his feet. We were only having a drink and chips for the Grandchildren, but their Mum and Dad had a Roast Beef dinner with the special Cawliflower Cheese and Mum had the Lasagne. The food and service was absolutely amazing. Shame we had a roast on at home as Nar and Dar (Grandparents) would have loved the roast as looked absolutely delicious which our son said it was and daughter-in-law loved the lasagne. We often pop down to The Fox and highly recommend in all seasons, but best is sitting out in the lovely garden in the summer. Rob is a fantastic landlord with his lovely wife Emerald too. Thank you for a lovely day."

"This accommodation seemed like a nice country retreat when we booked. The welcome just covered that, with staff involved seeming to be rathe preoccupied. The room was cold and one might say 'dank ' as if we were the first to set foot in there this season [and it was June] It was stated in the booking that one had to provide ones own bed linnen and towels, there were towels and one of the beds was made up. The beds were 'well used ', so could have been better. There is wifi, but it 's so intermittent and weak [in the room] that in fact there is no wifi. The guest policy needs looking into as we were kept up one night by rowdy guests in a nearby room. we had to go and ask for coffee, tea and milk [provided] to fill up the supply, again the staff were 'very busy ' and 'things are stored away '. We did not use the pub facilities which seemed very nice and welcoming."

"Incredible service and incredible food! The staff at this restaurant truly go above and beyond for their customers. When I fell ill and needed a birthday cake for my husband at the last minute, the JJs bakers were closed. The staff at The Coffee Neuk went out of their way to call JJ bakers and ask them to make a cake for me overnight. The girls from The Coffee Neuk then drove to Broxburn to pick it up and brought it to their cafe in Linlithgow, where we celebrated my husband's birthday with a delicious lunch. The food and milkshakes were excellent, and the staff provided outstanding customer service. Thanks to them, my husband had a fantastic birthday with his favorite fajitas, milkshake, and cake. Thank you so much, ladies! He absolutely loved it."

"Just wanted to share a review of our brief stop at The Angel Inn, Larling, Saturday 28th October ‘23. Two adults and two of our children, popped in on the off-chance we could get some grub. Luckily we were pleasantly welcomed by the gentleman behind the bar, where we were shown to a table. We ordered two cheeseburger meals for the boys, a BLT sandwich meal for my lady, and, a Steak and Ale pie meal for myself. We ordered drinks, which we enjoyed as we waited for our food. The burger meals were plentiful, with lovely home-made looking chips that were really nice and a little side pot of baked beans- both ended up being a bit too much for our boys (aged 9 10- so that shows how plentiful and filling the meals were). My lady’s BLT sandwich meal, was, she described as “The best ever, with the perfect amount of mayonnaise”, so there you have it. My steak ale pie meal, well, let’s put it like this: I stoped eating it after one bite- just to savour the absolutely beautiful tenderness of the meat!!! This was sublime for such an ordinary dish- the pastry seemingly homemade, was delicious as were the vegetables and chips that accompanied the pie. So delicious and nice was it that in no time I had completely polished the plate clean. Our bill, with drinks, came in at £46 which is fantastic for the home-made quality of the food we enjoyed- totally great value for your money. Our first ever visit, I have to say right here with you as my witness: it won’t be our last! Do try to book a table- it’s obvious this place gets full, regularly! Brilliant and completely worth stopping at. Kindest regards to the owners, Douglas Valentine"

"I rang to see if we could book a party of seven adults and two toddlers for lunch and was told that bookings weren’t possible but “I’m sure we will be able to accommodate you. ” So, in the cars and, having arrived in Cockington, and before parking, I went in and saw the owner who pointed to a table large enough for us all and I said we have to park the cars. I was told that was not a problem. Being Good Friday car parking was a problem. When we returned we found our promised table occupied and we were expected to sit at two separate tables whose parasols offered very limited protection from the rain. When questioning why our promised table was suddenly not available the owners reply was “It was ten minutes before you returned and I thought you weren’t coming back”. I beg your pardon! Upon our initial arrival, and prior to parking, he was made aware we were the party of nine who I had tried to book for earlier that morning. I also made him aware that we had travelled thirty miles. We will never return! I understand that the good rating of Weavers was likely inherited from the previous owners. The School House, just across the road, looked after us brilliantly and we all enjoyed the rest of our day in Cockington."

"This place actively covers up and deletes any post or revew it dislikes from Just Eat. Made an order from judt eat. The Nachos I ordered, the guacamole was covered in mould, the sour cream had separated and turned to jelly, the nachos were stale and cold. The rest of the order was fine, Burger, Chicken Crepes and ice cream. I did phone about the issue, was asked to give my name and no. for a callback and that just eat would also be informed of the issue. None of the above was done. As a result I cannot trust anything this store cooks. A pity as the other items did taste good. I did leave this review on Just eat as well but they deleted it."

"Went for afternoon tea and cake with my friend and my grandchildren. Although the food and drink were very nice i did have an issue with the children’s outside play area. We sat outside so that we could see them but in order to be able for them to get to the play area they had to go round the courtyard and in through the cafe and through another door ! Seemed absolutely crazy when there was an opening right in front of the courtyard that had been blocked with pots of plants so nobody could get through!! I spoke to the lady who was serving and she said it was a safety issue!! The fact that young children were running through the cafe where staff were carrying hot food and drinks seemed far more of a safety issue to me !!"

"A wonderful local cafe and deli. Tables inside and out. As well as consistently delicious breakfast, lunch options, and cake, the deli stocks a broad range of interesting and high quality wine, cheese, vegetable, bread, oils , teas and other larder items that make great last minute gifts. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff. My only criticism is that their coffee is pretty dreadful. It’s a shame, as this often steers me away. Recommend they get on top of their coffee game to earn their rightful place as top in their class in Richmond."

"We visited this charming pub with friendly staff for Sunday lunch. Initially, I thought the price of £16.95 was a bit high, but I was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful meal. The beef was delicious and we received three large slices. I wish we had each received a plate of vegetables instead of sharing one between us, but overall the meal was very tasty. I suggest removing the Mange tout as it is not a great vegetable choice. Another pub down the road offered two lunches for £20, but the quality of our meal was worth it. We would definitely return to this pub as the drinks were reasonably priced too."

"I enjoyed my dining experience at this restaurant! The cheerful young ladies serving were very efficient. The food selection was good and delicious. Although the number of tables was limited, they kindly asked those who were turned away to return in about 15 minutes. We thought this was a nice touch. I tried to come back for a second meal yesterday, but unfortunately they were closed for the day. I guess even in this day and age, staff still need time off occasionally! The only downside was that the coffee was overpriced and they only accepted cash. Otherwise, I would have given them a 5-star rating."

"A fairly busy Saturday afternoon due to the weather. Just wanted a coffee to take around the lake on our walk. If the man serving had told us there would be a wait we'd not have bothered until after our walk. I think there was only one lady on the drinks and that meant more people were then waiting. After nearly 15 mins we were brought out two very small coffees...sure they used to be bigger? It's a shame as it's a perfect location for the play park and lake. Maybe we'll go earlier next time and not at the weekend. Coffee was nice though even if a little on the small side for what we paid."

"Visited here on November. One of my most favourite meals out ever. Warm welcome and service was spot on, very attentive and friendly without being intrusive. Complimentary bread and olives is a generous gesture. Shared cold fish starter and I ordered Thai mussels,...my wife Hake with Crab Crostini for main courses. Both were delicious and presented beautifully. I cannot praise this restaurant enough and will be returning frequently. Menu exciting and varied with a heavy accent on local fish, just what I am looking for when visiting Cornwall. Well done Taste it was a wonderful dining experience."

"We have been dining at this restaurant for a few months now, but unfortunately, we think it's time to explore other options. While the location is beautiful and parking is easy to find, the service and food can be inconsistent. We have experienced long waits for coffee and often received side salads with brown lettuce. It's disappointing when basic items like brown bread and tuna are not available, and the toasted sandwich we ordered was cold and not toasted. The lack of effort in ensuring fresh ingredients and attention to detail is concerning. We believe that consistent, high-quality food is essential for a positive dining experience. We wish the restaurant well, but it's time for us to find a new place to dine."
