"We stopped in here on a blustery autumnal Friday following a walk with dogs around the grounds of the adjacent castle. We received a walm welcome and we're seated quickly with menus offered and specials/exceptions explained. Prices are very reasonable and service is swift. We had a hot meal which was exactly what was needed. The only downside soup of the day was clearly cup a soup, whilst warm and tasty, it did leave something to be desired. Otherwise food ordered was excellent. Possibly best to visit during more popular times than an off season Friday lunch."

"I used to visit this cafe regularly and used to enjoy generous slices of cake and coffee with friends and it was a regular haunt and a delight. Sought it out today after a long gap as back in the area and couldn’t believe how expensive it was. I realise cafes are struggling but people still want some value for money. Three small slices of cake easily half the slice size I recall at least, one muffin (dry) with three small teacup sized lattes and a tea £29.90. It’s a shame because we won’t go back again. I understand everyone is struggling but this is not value for money in any way. I see other comments relating to cost too and I’m not surprised."

"After spending nearly an hour trying to find somewhere serving food before 6pm, we found this place. Absolutely lovely meal at The Three Pilchards this afternoon. Cider battered fish and chips were cooked beautifully and the eggs were possibly some of the best duck eggs I've ever had! Service was friendly and prompt with a nice atmosphere Will definitely return and would recommend 100"

"Absolutely fantastic dining experience, hosted by a wonderful person. Honestly, there are countless reasons to try the food here; nothing on the menu is disappointing. The attention to detail with ingredients is outstanding. For instance, the fish finger sandwich features beautifully made sole goujons that are tender and pan-roasted, all served on fresh grain bread. They also have an excellent selection of ice cream and are fully licensed to serve alcohol. The entire atmosphere is delightful. There are only a few tables, so you'll feel lucky if you manage to get a seat. If not, you can always order takeout and enjoy your meal on the beach, which is a great option since there are plenty of spots available. I often take some home for later, and it's always lovely!"

"We thought that we would treat the family to an evening meal here and the food was very good, well presented, tasty and fairly priced, as were the drinks. However, the front of house staff provided a very disappointing standard of service. We waited 35...minutes for our plates to be cleared and then had to ask for the dessert menu. Initially, the team were busy taking selfies, texting or brushing their hair behind the bar. After twenty minutes, I went up to the bar and it was like the Marie Celeste, no sign of life! Another ten minutes, same issue! Eventually, I managed to attract attention before we became fossilized permanent fixtures of this establishment but this was a good meal spoiled. There were only three tables to serve, so goodness knows what it's like when it's busy......"

"Super lovely staff and restaurant. Vegan brunch plate was amazing, as well as the English breakfast sandwich! Vegan hollandaise sauce was to die for. Juices were fresh and delicious Had the carrot cake to finish off and that was great! Didn't look at the whole menu in detail but I think they're full vegan now! Would double check to make sure."

"This small independent café in Inverness caters to the vegetarian and vegan community. They offer a variety of breakfast options until 11:30am as well as lunch choices. Most dishes can be made gluten-free upon request. The daily specials are worth trying as they are delicious. The smoothie was thick and refreshing, and all the food tasted fresh with a delightful combination of flavors. Be prepared to share a table with strangers during busy lunch times. Outdoor seating is available for enjoying the nice weather and people-watching. I highly recommend this café."

"A friend told me to try here, after a not so good pub meal recently. We have been going here for years, last time was last summer, so spur of the moment decision we went at midday on the first sunny day this year. It was really busy inside and the garden was buzzing. Hubby ordered the Bangers and Mash, and was really impressed, 3 large good quality sausages and Creamy fluffy mash With loads of thick gravy and tender broccoli, which he loved. I had the Moules Frites, Wow! A Huge portion of tender Mussels with gorgeous white wine and garlic sauce. With Bread and crispy chips. The sauce was so delicious I just couldn't stop eating it, but we couldn't eat everything. Didn't get to desserts or coffee, but thoroughly enjoyed all we ate. The staff are really lovely, run off their feet, but so efficient, serving both inside the pub and the garden. Didn't have to wait long at all. A pleasant pub on a lovely day, with great food....job done!"

"Eaten here twice in the last 10 days. Great service, prompt and non obtrusive plus the staff are really smiley! Food is delicious, well presented and of a good quality Plus their coffee is excellent. Lovely crockery and tableware makes this feel more than your average cafe. Clearly a very popular place, as on both occasions it was packed with customers. This is my new favourite Hailsham breakfast, brunch or lunch venue!"

"My friends who have known the place for like 20 years, took me there one evening, and when you first glance at the menu you may not realise yet how good and fresh the food is going to be, as presentations are not fussy or posh. It is a simple looking place. Yet, once our dishes were served on our table, I realised I was in for a treat. My seabass arrived perfectly cooked, the way I like it (as I asked for no butter in mine). It was fresh, generous portions and as good as any fancy restaurant I have been to. The mixed veggies that comes with it, surpassed my expectations: delicious asparagus, broccoli, roasted carrots and perfectly tender baby potatoes. Excellent homemade bannofee pie too. Simplicity as its best. Merci. 10/10."

"We visited to see the Beatrix Potter Exhibition with family who were visiting and spent a lovely hour going around the exhibition, however our nice time was rudely interrupted by the elderly lady working in the cafe with dyed black curly hair. We have one child with serious allergies, so instead of one child feeling left out and risking cross exposure, we packed safe snacks for all the kids going anywhere with allergies is an absolute nightmare, so we always do this. Most places are trained and appreciative of how hard it is to eat out with allergens and happy to make reasonable adjustments for this. All four adults ate from the cafe. When part of our order was delivered, we were told “this isn’t a picnic area, you can’t eat your own food, you wouldn’t take food in to McDonald’s” (whilst looking at the 2 year old eating her snacks) when I responded yes I actually would, we have a child with allergies, she asked if it was serious allergies to which I said yes and she scoffed and left, no apology, nothing. I must add that whether the children would be eating or not, they would still have to sit at the table and take up the same amount of space. Would the children also be prevented from sitting because they didn’t buy from the cafe? Still waiting on my food order twenty minutes later and having already finished my coffee and frustrated at the wait, I asked for a refund as we now felt hurried to leave because of how upset she was at the children eating snacks at the table without purchasing them in their cafe. I got the refund for my missing meal and we left without going to the shop or seeing the other art, it has left a bad taste in my mouth. We spent just shy of £100 in the place and to be spoken to like that was horrible. The elderly employee with dyed black hair really needs some training on customer service and manners. The way she looked at us as we left was awful, we will not be returning. This place is not welcoming of children or those with allergies I dread to think how they would react to someone who is tube fed, probably told to eat outside just avoid."

"This was our first time visiting the restaurant on a Friday night. The menu was limited, our orders arrived in the wrong order, and the staff appeared bored and unsupervised. We were seated in a corner of a dreary bar, where our conversation was drowned out by the noise of the beer-drinkers. Despite coming all the way from Richmond based on a recommendation from friends (who had only been for lunch), we were underwhelmed by the experience. The price per person was £20-£30. The food was rated a 1, the service a 3, and the atmosphere a 1."

"This bakery in Dunkeld run by a former ex is absolutely fantastic. The staff are excellent, the food is always beautifully presented and tastes amazing. They offer a variety of interesting cakes, croissants, and mini tarts such as gooseberry and oat cake, plum frangipani tart, pistachio croissant, parsnip and pecan cake, nutty brownies, ginger and fig cheesecake, and raspberry, lemon and poppyseed cake. They also serve delicious sourdough bread and excellently made coffee. This place is definitely a 5-star destination."

"Met one of my best university friends at River Green Cafe, as it was approx equidistant between Norwich Clacton on Sea. We hadn't seen each other for 8 years. We had never been to Debenham before, so took a chance on the venue. It was just what we needed. We sat in the cafe all day drinking tea, had a lovely toasted sandwich/ salad lunch, chased down with scones more tea. All food was homemade really good. The proprietors were lovely very welcoming accommodating with our table-hogging. We plan to meet up again at River Green Cafe in the summer. Lovely cafe."

"we have celebrated a weekend in the bank to celebrate my and my men's birthdays. neil the owner was wonderful, leaving my hubby the parking space for a surprising visit of mustangs that was really amazing. we spent the whole afternoon and evening in the pub garden, where they had tables reserved for us and our guests, good eating and drinking on a hot sunny day with a great atmosphere could not ask for something better. this is our new local, highly recommended!"

"Had seen plenty of good reviews of the cafe in the park decided it was our lunch venue with the family on a reasonably nice day. Inside was packed but thankfully got a space outside. Again, queue was pretty long, but actually got served fairly quickly, and food turned up not too long after that. Everyone liked the food they had and it was far better than I probably would have expected. The only downside to our visit, and this is no fault of the cafe, was the people who seemed to be unable to control their dogs when not on a lead at one point we had a small dog under our table, which initiated a bit of a shriek from our daughter (always fearful since a dog stole her sausage roll a couple if years back!"

"We stopped at this cafe as a midway point on the Cleveland Way Coastal Walk. There's a sign for the cafe on top of the cliff, but to get there, you have to trek up a steep hill through a campsite, which was quite a workout—even for someone like me who considers themselves relatively fit! However, once we arrived, we found the cafe to be clean, the staff friendly, and the menu quite appealing. We ordered a ham and cheese sandwich, which I forgot to photograph, but I have to say it was likely one of the best sandwiches we've ever had."

"I love going to coffee creams, and in the last months I have met friends there for tee. my friends and I also enjoyed eating from the menu, the touch and crispy speck is delicious. the geleto and waffel are a real tasty bite. I took my mam recently and we tried the new waffella dessert. this was a something that was perfect on the hot day, a tower of waffeln, geleto, nutella with a few ferraro roche. I chose pistaziengeleto and my mam chose the chocolate and honey. there was only the right combination of ingredients that all worked together. I can recommend this and the other food very much. I use an electric wheelchair and these things are large and bulky design. the reason why I return with my friends to coffee creams is the combination of service and quality of eating. joe and his team are perfect host, from opening the double to ordering and payment from my table everything is done with a smile and little excitement. these little things make the difference between a ok to a fantastic time out."

"Had high hopes. Have wanted to visit for some time and on entering this pretty village pub we weren’t disappointed at first. My 3/5 is for atmosphere, decor and great staff. Unfortunately, the food really lets everything else down. We both decided to eat Asian style fish… I had the salmon, my husband the swordfish… neither was good . Some sort of paste smothered on both of our fish which we both scrapped off and mine was very average for the price. My husbands was swimming in a very salty, sugary slop! Noodles and new potatoes in the mix, never seen that before and almost inedible. He ate the fish cos he was so hungry!!! Maybe we should have stuck to more traditional pub grub !! A shame because they charged close to £20 per main course and I expected more. Won’t be eating there again unfortunately… one of those nights when you wish you’d cooked at home."

"I regularly visit St Davids with my family and have been coming for many years. This cafe is situated within the tourist information centre and there is also a gift shop and an interesting gallery on site, well worth a visit in its own right. I suspect some seasonal visitors might not realise there is a cafe here as it is slightly further to walk from the town centre/cathedral than some other options, which would be a shame as this is probably the best place for brunch in St Davids. This cafe has its own parking or you can easily walk to it from the main town centre. Last week I came twice for brunch and again for coffee and cake with family members and friends, we were all very happy with our food each time we visited. Consistently well cooked and of high quality. The portion sizes are generous and the meat was good quality. There are vegetarian breakfast/brunch options available as well as options for children. There is outside seating if the weather is good and the cafe is dog friendly with plenty of toilets available in the cafe and outside and space for the kids to run round outside the cafe. I really enjoyed the avocado toast with poached eggs and also the lemon and blackcurrant cake. My partner enjoyed the full Welsh breakfast and kids enjoyed the pancakes. There is a selection of board games available. Can't wait for our next visit!"
