"Today I particularly requested if the soup was on the menu as previously they made delicious tomato soup. They have gone through an extra mile to specifically make the soup and thank you for preparing the soup for me. I was outstanding. As a regular the food is superb and at a good price. Much appreciated."

"I visited a charming coffee shop with a pleasant ambiance. While there was some confusion with my order, the server kindly clarified that the iced coffee drink I inquired about was not on the menu but was actually an iced latte. I also learned that customers need to order and pay at the counter, rather than having a server take their order at the table. I enjoyed a BLT sandwich, which was recommended to me by the same server who suggested the iced latte. The service was a bit slow, with my sandwich taking about 45 minutes to arrive, but the server apologized for the delay. Despite the wait, I found the atmosphere to be relaxing as I waited with a self-serve water jug and a good book on my Kindle. The sandwich was delicious, especially for those following a vegan/vegetarian diet. Overall, I had a positive experience and would recommend this coffee shop to others."

"This is the second time we've visited the Standard. The first time was lovely so we took different friends again. Second visit not so enjoyable. The food is good, no complaints there and the service is also good. But they have a bar which is in the same area as the table for dining. There is also some couches in the window for people to sit and drink. There was a large party of very noisy women standing at the bar. They did not eat. The music was extremely loud. The door kept getting left open by customers and one of us had to keep getting up and closing it, the staff didn't seem to notice. Perhaps get a self closing returner on the door? Our table was right next to the bar (the only other tables that seated 4 were by the toilets! . The room is very dark, but the waitress was very accommodating and turned the lights up for us so we could see the menu! We seemed to be the only people all night who were actually eating. It was extremely difficult to have a conversation and we were shouting at each other all evening which was not very relaxing. I think The Standard need to decide whether they want to be a bar with loud music and drinking, or a restaurant, but it is too small to be both. It is probably fine for a lunch time meal but not the evening. Suffice to say we won't be returning on a Saturday night, which is a shame because the food is really good."

"We arrived early but our table was ready. We were given two menus the first being the festive fare and the second the every day menu. There was the same items on he menus so we chose off the every day menu because it was cheaper than the festive fare. The food was very good and well presented in fact we have visited the restaurant on several occasions and yet we haven’t experienced a bad meal. The food is good quality and very reasonably priced."

"I just ordered two roast dinners, one chicken and one pork, through Just Eat. The delivery came piping hot as if it had just come from my own kitchen. The Sunday roast was massive with scrumptious meat and plenty of vegetables. I will definitely be ordering from this restaurant again."

"Four of us went for Sunday lunch when we couldn’t get in to our first choice and we all thoroughly enjoyed the meals. Service was very good and the staff were nice. "Well what can i say about my buffet for my 30th birthday party. The food was delicious and plenty to say the least but what was different about this party is the personal touches that lisa made. Theme was a alice in wonderland mad hatters tea party and ingenious to put pickles and dips in tea cups and serve jam tarts (queen of hearts haha) on beautiful cake stands. My guests had nothing but praise for the food and said how delicious it all was. TI will defintely be recommending this ladies services to anyone wanting a personal catering experience. Thankyou lise. Your a star xxx What a turn around, wishing you all the best, keep serving them homemade oatcakes (with bacon and cheese, that I have to say are the dogs boll*cks) and you'll make that place. Rooting for you mate. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"

"We've frequented The Courthouse many times over the last 10 years. Having used them for many occasions just for drinks only, or meals with drinks and were not disappointed. We've always collected our choices, even though delivery options are fully available. So, Valentine's became our...next point-of-call. No disappointment in the menu choices. Ordering on-line was, as before, nice and easy (An account is not needed for this). Skip forwards to being called on the day, to be informed that the local road was being worked upon (highways resurfacing) but advised of the 1 minute distanced car park for convenience. I was already aware of this issue, but what service for the business to call, let you now about and offer traffic advice. All choices ordered, were ready on-the-dot. Fully cooked. Containerised separately. Marked up clearly. Service with a smile. It all helped make the Valentines day. Thanks to the Chef the Staff."

"We stopped in our campervan at this village store cabin in the carpark during our journey. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Although we didn't need any services, they seemed willing to assist with anything we might have needed. The restaurant is described as an "aire" but we were not sure of the specific services available. However, we highly recommend this place. There are 5 spaces for campervans and plenty of parking for cars. We had a dine-in dinner which cost between £30-£40 per person. The food, service, and atmosphere all scored a perfect 5. We recommend trying the Fish & Chips and the Fries. Vegetarian options are clearly labeled on the menu. There is plenty of free parking available at this location."

"We had lunch here between stream boat rides. Lovely cafe with very friendly, helpful staff. Lunch was very tasty, nice portion size and very reasonable priced. My son has allergies which are always a concern when eating out but the ladies were knowledgeable and efficient with dealing with all our enquiries. Would highly recommend a visit if your passing. We are a family of 4 with two teenage sons. Who are never full but both said after their meals the were stuffed! I can’t think of a higher compliment to a cafe."

"First time in Maggie’s Cafe. Most, if not all of the tables were occupied. A sunday morning breakfast while scanning the paper is always a highlight of any week. I opted for the full grill breakfast I’m told they only grill their food..not fried which I personally thought was grand value at £6.95 tea, coffee etc extra . A really nice touch was the unlimited free filtered water from a dispenser at the end of the counter. From my first bite it was clear that some thought had gone into sourcing pedigree products. The sausages were excellent as was the bacon. Even the sweet cherry tomatoes had great flavour. I love the fact they serve a pot of tea instead of a mug/cup. As it was a Sunday I was in no rush but the kitchen service was a bit slow the server apologised ...having said that if you want freshly grilled food this may be an acceptable price for quality. The staff were very attentive and the decor was really pleasing. Nothing in this world is perfect but a rethink of the kitchen service would lift this cafe into a whole new level.... while saying that i will definitely be back. Recommended."

"Very helpful, attentive staff. Speed service for food, we were expecting to wait a long time as it was busy and we'd ordered Lamb Shanks so we're unsure how long we would have to wait but the service was really quick. In, two courses and out within an hour and a half. Not bad considering there were five of us. Would highly recommend. Thank you for looking after us. "With restrictions, the sun is out... my little family of 2 adults and two children under 10 were in the mood for a treat. Hare and Hounds have not disappointed. We tried the Tofu-Buo-Buos and our taste buds were blown! Then to follow excellent crispy and generously proportional fish and chips for dad and the two children, while mom enjoyed a beautiful poached sea stream dishes. Dessert was also a creditor, the chocolate corner. Unusually I know, but we enjoyed a beautiful, rich dark old Veinfandel with our fish sauce. And half a pinch of Bambino as a palate cleaner! We left with satisfied appetites and look forward to our next return. The menu changes every month we believe."
