"I enjoyed my dining experience at this restaurant! The cheerful young ladies serving were very efficient. The food selection was good and delicious. Although the number of tables was limited, they kindly asked those who were turned away to return in about 15 minutes. We thought this was a nice touch. I tried to come back for a second meal yesterday, but unfortunately they were closed for the day. I guess even in this day and age, staff still need time off occasionally! The only downside was that the coffee was overpriced and they only accepted cash. Otherwise, I would have given them a 5-star rating."

"There was a lovely atmosphere there when we arrived, it was clean and tidy. The staff were welcoming, helpful and very friendly throughout. After looking through a lovely and varied menu, it was difficult to settle on one choice, as there were so many dishes that sounded great, we ordered our meals and were asked if we had any allergens or special dietary requirements, my partner had the steak frites (she had the steak medium and it was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing and that's from a head chef of 23 years! , I had the slow cooked Goan lamb curry and rice and this was also excellent. The atmosphere in the place was lovely and it was not overly busy and as we ate and enjoyed our evening, we watched the other different meals that were coming from the kitchen and they all looked very nice indeed. The staff were always busy serving, clearing tables and going around the tables asking everyone if their food was ok and if there was anything else they wanted and needed, (they weren't standing around chatting or on their phones similar to so many other places today. We couldn't fault the place, the meal or the staff and would highly recommend others to eat here and I'm sure they will enjoy themselves, just as we did."

"decided to stop here last week for a coffee, but we saw the menu and saw everything homemade, so had lunch too. I can only wish the new owner every success. the food was so fresh and tasty freshly cooked (a bonus...these days we will surely return again (next week) for an excellent lunch. Moreover, the staff was so friendly and nothing was too much annoyed."

"Came here on Coronation Bank Holiday and were lucky to find they were having a beer festival and live music. Very tasty food I chose the homemade Thai Green Curry which was delicious. My husband chose the Steak Ale Pie which unfortunately was Steak and Stilton when he began eating it. This was sorted out quickly he received the correct meal and a pint of Abbots as compensation. Another plus point is the free mooring right outside the pub good if you’re visiting by boat. Overall a very enjoyable visit."

"Well what a find in what could be described as the middle of nowhere. We went there for a delayed birthday party. The menu puts many other places to shame. So much choice and the best dessert menu I've seen for ages. Food is clearly freshly prepared as takes some time to come to the table, but totally acceptable. Vegetarian options: Lots of options and choices can be adapted. Parking: Parking at the front and side. Plenty of space Wheelchair accessibility: Flat access to the extensive bar area, accessible toilet Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Fish Pie Parking space: Plenty of parking Parking options: Free parking lot"

"We came with friends as we had all been gifted afternoon tea, and chose to visit this tearoom. We booked just over a week in advance. What a great choice! A great selection of beautifully fresh finger sandwiches, scones, cream and jam. and a selection of small cakes, which were so light. Absolutely scrumptious. We weren't rushed, so we could sit and enjoy our food. The folk working in the tearoom were very welcoming and we had a delightful afternoon. Thank you!"

"It’s always a good start when a restaurant has a separate vegan menu. Thank you Lounges, it’s a small thing and it really helps. Said menu is full of delights such as burgers, sandwiches and wraps. A specials board is usually around too with another option or two for vegans. I’ve had both their burger and BLT sandwich (both served with chips and side salad) and they were nice and filling. The BLT in particular is STACKED (let’s face it, the B is often the weak link in a BLT) with what feels sometimes like a whole pack of Vbites bacon. If you like eating out at quirky places, Paramo Lounge (And others in the chain) have you covered. Each sports a unique interior with an eclectic mix of furniture, lights and decorative objects adorning the walls. Worth a mention is how family friendly this place is. One time eating out with colleagues, a kid busted out the scrabble board just as our meals arrived and it was a really fun evening and it made me wish for a more fun experience like this more often when eating out. Paramo feels very homely and that’s no doubt part of what makes it so popular."

"Rude staff here. My elderly Mum and I popped in for coffee just before 3 last Friday afternoon. At no point did any of the three members of staff inform us the cafe would be closing less than half an hour later. Instead they happily brought menus to the table. Mum ordered a scone, complete with (unnecessary) condiments and a cappuccino and I ordered a cappuccino. Luckily we didn’t order a meal as we would have had to inhale it! As my Mum hadn’t finished her scone, I left her there while I nipped out to pick up my son from school. When I got back, she said the attitude from the female member of staff had not been too nice, the implication being she had overstayed her welcome. Well what do they expect when they serve customers food? They have to eat it! When I then mentioned to a male member of staff (owner maybe?)that the fact they were closing was not mentioned to us at any stage and especially at the point of ordering, he argued with me and was really very unpleasant. Then he closed the door on me. The customer service leaves a lot to be desired here. They are very happy to take your money but then rush you out the door. First and last visit here."

"Beautiful venue, food looks amazing in cabinets, cakes were good. Service??? I would say if I were the manager I'd be embarrassed. However saying that maybe there isn't a manager, which is why it was as it was. Staff had to be called over to serve our table twice! I noticed this happen at other tables too! Restaurant was not busy at the time. Had to go up to get one of the three drinks ordered as it never arrived. Waited so long for my salad, the others had nearly finished their cakes, then was told the salad wasn't available!!! Cancelled as too poor service! Place has such potential, with beautiful venue, staff sadly let it down. Also I videoed the cake area, so could show my mum what was available, as she uses a walking frame, so left her seated. Rather than watching me with disdain member of staff behind the counter) try smiling, it makes people feel more welcome!"

"I have been into this café several times recently and although the food is ok, the staff are so hectic and frantically tripping over each other. Instead of each having one job to do, the owner barks different orders at the other staff so they are doubling up on their work all the time which leads to much confusion! The café is far from relaxing for a coffee and sarnie! Yesterday l went in there and they prepared my sandwich using their bare, unwashed hands! ; The man serving had just handled money too. I had an issue with uncooked chicken months ago here and when l raised it with the owner, she was so loud and embarrassing when l was trying to be discreet and mention it. Today l couldn't face another indiscreet conversion. I wish l had said something but l am being your typical Brit and hiding behind my computer!"

"I visited the cafe in September, and ordered from the special menu, tea and a tea cake. It wasnt bad to be fair. What I was disappointed in was the poor service. When he bill arrived, I was charged more than I should have been. When I challenged this, it was for the extra hot water. What ensued then was terrible. The waitress said she told me there was a charge, the (what I believe) was the manger also said I was wrong. It was not just embarassing, but absolutely 0 customer service skills. The special menu has no mention of any additional costs. I would avoid at all costs. I did try to speak to the manager to say what perhaps they could do, clearly not interested."

"Pleasant cafe apart from the service we experienced. We were given half a thimble full of milk to accompany two pots of tea. Requested more so waitress took half full jug to fill which then failed to arrive. One of us went back inside to obtain milk to be met with surly response. Given full thimble of milk without a smile. Subsequently had to go back inside to obtain further top up again without a smile. Seriously considered requesting refund of tip. Can only assume waitress awaiting customer service training."

"I visited this restaurant today to meet up with a group from Cornwall Vegans. I enjoyed a delightful hot chocolate and a delicious piece of banana and cinnamon cake. Some of the others in the group ordered burgers and quiche, which looked really appetizing. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. I was so impressed with my experience that I have already booked a reservation for my upcoming birthday."

"I visited this cafe on a Saturday lunch time. All the outside tables were taken so we sat inside. It was a bit confusing and looks like they have joined two separate units as there were tables and chairs with a counter, a narrow corridor and then another room with more tables and chairs and a bit in the corner where drinks were made. There were no menus on the tables and it was not clear if you had to order at the counter. After a good five minutes a waitress came to our table but only took orders for drinks, and another waitress took food orders. We had a pot of tea for one, a coffee, a diet Coke, a smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich and a BLT sandwich. At first the waitress said that they had run out of bacon but could do one with sausage to which we agreed. Then she returned to say they had lit the grill ? and could do bacon. Both sandwiches came with a bit of side salad and coleslaw. The sandwich fillings were quite generous. The bill came to £24.70. I could not see a toilet for disabled people, and the toilet appeared to be unisex. Inside was an area with a washbasin and two toilets but one was marked out of order with a chair placed in front to prevent use. In the remaining toilet there was an area where tiles were coming off the wall and some grouting and bits off the stud partition wall were littering the floor. There was a sign saying Do Not Touch, but no sign apologising for the condition of the wall. I do not know how long the toilet was in this condition but the staff should have swept the floor at the very least. I would not visit this cafe again."

"First things, The people that run this business are the most welcoming you could ask for in Yorkshire nothing being too much trouble. Me and my friends visited on a wet and windy Friday afternoon and were worried about being too mucky and damp for inside we were told to come in and warm up 'don 't worry about it '. We proceeded to have a variety of coffees and teas which are made on a proper coffee machine non of this push button machine! They were fantastic! For food we had Ham Brie and Cranberry toasties, BLT 's and the best Bacon sandwiches i 've ever tasted. This was of course followed by cakes and scones, HIGHLY RECOMEND Blueberry and Ginger scones my word these were good! I will be returning whenever I am in the area. As for the other reviews on here I really think you maybe need to take a look at yourselves this is a independently run business and you get what you pay for! If you like mass produced and priced baking then by all means stick to that but DO NOT come on here slating a place for their prices this is a completely different business to your highstreet 'Greggs or Thomas 's ' and yes prices do reflect this rightly so!"

"I came to the Filling Station for lunch today with my Dad, having a some time in Belper before getting the bus home, which I’d told the staff was leaving in 45 minutes and she said if we hadn’t finished our food in time we could take it home in boxes! I explained when I was ordering that I was vegetarian and all the options were told to me. The staff were very friendly and efficient, and the food was very tasty, filling and piping hot. I order a wholemeal toastie with onions, tomatoes and cheese with salad and my Dad had Welsh rarebit, leek and potato soup and we shared a portion of chips. They were good portion sizes and very affordable. I will 100% come again. Keep doing great, such an excellent place!"

"The restaurant we usually visit was closed so thought we would try this one and were not disappointed. We failed to see the menus clearly displayed on a wall but as soon as we chose a table a young man brought two menus to us. As requested, we ordered at the counter and our drinks were quickly brought to our table. We both chose baked potatoes, one with egg mayonnaise and the other with tuna mayo. These were provided with a small side salad in very reasonable time and both were excellent. The seating area inside appears quite limited but all the tables outside were occupied."

"It closed from the outside. A large 'We are open ' sign outside would attract more passing by. Amazing cakes. I had bread n butter pudding. Only thing missing was custard and ice cream and then l would have been singing with the angels. This was a meal on its own! Also only half a mile away from kfmi.org.uk Looking forward to sharing an Afternoon Tea with a friend.... Fry up also on bucket list Only thing missing is a coffee making machine where you can heat up any non diary and make a decent latte or cappuccino. I guess I 'm a coffee snob This place is a hidden It 's even got elec charging bays in car park I shall return..... Parking: Includes elec charging bays. These guys are on it!"
