"The first time we went we age from the lunch menu with the 3 courses for £18 option I really enjoyed my starter, the short rib had a beautiful barbecue taste and the pickeled mustard seeds added a fantastic texture and a beautifuly sharp contrast to the meat. I felt like the crispy shallots didn't add much other than texture, maybe more would've helped. Presentation wise I loved the jar the ribs came in For the main course at @alstonmanchestr I opted the Tweed Valley 250g rump steak which was served with garlic butter and fries on the side. The rump was a £3 surcharge to the set menu, I could've had a flat iron steak for no extra charge but I couldn't do that to myself. The steak was so perfect, I asked for mine rare which did not disappoint. The meat was thick and tasty. I enjoyed the fries but I would've preferred chips, also if I wasn't having 3 courses I would've grabbed some veg on the side. For Dessert I enjoyed Dark berries and gin tart with almond ice cream. This was a great end to my meal, the gin undertoned the sharp Berry flavours and wasn't overpowering. The pastry was firm and sweet. and I enjoyed the dessicated almond on the ice cream provided a nice texture. Our second visit we ate in the evening from the a la carte Starter Courgette and corn fritters with chilli tzatziki did not disappoint, they smelt very aromatic and were nice and crispy. The flavours were great but the main event had to be the chilli tzatziki underneath, it tasted incredible Main I had decided a few days before that I deserved a T bone as it had been a while since I had one. This one was 500g and served with either chips, mash or veg, and a choice of sauce. I opted for chips and I decided to try the bone marrow butter which did not disappoint. All the Tweed Valley steaks at Alston are hand selected by a master butcher from the best cattle that's been fed grass and barley My steak, served rare, was perfect and in true T bone fashion got less cooked in the center so I was pretty much eating a live cow..mmmmm. The seasoning on the seared meat was gorgeous and with that bone marrow butter spread on it was taken to a next level"

"Having moved to Southwark fairly recently I have visited this Byron Burger a handful of times as it is so close to me and in my opinion it is a filling, tasty meal well worth the money! My boyfriend and I love burgers in all shapes and forms, they 're great and so we are always on the search for a good burger! Having come across this Byron location we were keen to go in as it looked lovely. The decor is simple yet pleasing to the eye! I love the combination of the green tiled walls, brick walls, comfy booths and simple light fittings. The compilation of these furnishings create a very relaxed feeling, its a place you can chill in and enjoy..not too vibrant or 'in your face ' and equally not too boring. Every time that we have visited this Byron the staff have been lovely! There is not one thing that you can fault their service on. All of the team are friendly, enthusiastic and look like they enjoy working in the environment! They were especially kind when I asked to combine two desserts off of the menu to create a 'chocolate brownie sundae '. The waiter made a huge..HUGE sundae for me even in the middle of a busy shift which I really appreciated..especially being an avid chocolate lover! As for the food..its good! A lovely burger cooked how you prefer (a good sign that they are using good meats). They are very tasty and create a silence at the table as people can 't stop filling their mouths with the food! There is also a wide range of sides and inventive burger topping combinations available on the menu, suiting a variety of customers! I also highly recommend the onion rings, they are so fresh and lightly battered, better than any other onion rings my boyfriend and I have had! I wouldn 't say that the burgers served here are the best burgers in the world. I really enjoy them but their not the favourite burgers I have ever tried. Despite this I will definitely return to Byron Southwark and Byron in general, its a delicious and filling meal and definitely worth a try!"

"Booked afternoon tea for me and a friend after looking at several excellent trip advisor reviews (I should have read more! . We paid £32.95 each plus £8.95 each for small bottle (one glass size of Prosecco We thought from the menu that we would get a variety of sandwiches but only got a choice of 1 each (2 fillings had a supplementary charge . When the food arrived we were soooo disappointed. The sandwiches were incredibly ordinary. No fancy bread or cut nicely. The ‘home made’ cakes on top were visually boring. A couple of fairy cakes with watery icing and 2 pieces of very small millionaires shortbread that looked ‘old’. The scones however looked and tasted lovely. And 2 teacups with very small portions of Eton mess were also nice. There was absolutely NOTHING special that warranted such a huge price! Nothing at all. We asked for the cakes to be boxed up and we ate them on our train journey home. The fairy cake was just ok and the millionaires shortbread did indeed taste old. On the way back to the train station we called at another place (Mama Doreen’s emporium for a drink and the afternoon teas that they were serving were incredible. We found out they were £25 each ! I don’t believe in posting a bad review on here without making the place aware first. I’ve sent them a message but had no reply. Hence I have no qualms posting this review."

"I booked this restaurant as we were staying at Legoland for my son’s birthday. I had read reviews that the Legoland hotel was not worth the money. So after some research and looking at menus GOGOs seemed the place to go. I originally booked for 4:45pm 2 adults 2 children but called on the day and asked if we could arrive at 6pm, I was told it was no problem. We arrived at the restaurant for 5:45pm. it’s on a beautiful marina and backs on to a race course. Walking over to the restaurant there were people outside, part of a party blocking the pathway. We sat down and were asked what drinks we would like, and served our drinks. My husband felt uncomfortable in the restaurant as we had not dressed up as we had been at Legoland but the majority of people had made an effort there. around 20mins after the waitress came over and told us it would be an 1 hour wait for food! Due to the party outside of 100 guests. I asked if they could cook the children’s food first and she went to ask the manager. The manager returned and said that he can cook the children’s food first but we would have to wait for an hour maybe longer, I asked if they could just cook all of our food together as a family of 4 as we was out for our sons birthday. He said the party of a 100 asked for their food to be ready for 6pm. I explained that I had called to change the time and no one informed me of the large party and there would be a delay in food. The manager did apologise but this was not good enough. We decided to leave due to the wait and the drinks were on the house. Looking back on this now, I think my husband was right and they did not want our custom, maybe because of the way we was dressed and we was the only table with 2 young children! I am really disappointed. If you have children I wouldn’t book here, children have a choice of 2 things to eat on the menu. make sure you make an effort so you look like you can afford to eat there! More annoying the food looked lovely."
