"Booked afternoon tea for me and a friend after looking at several excellent trip advisor reviews (I should have read more! . We paid £32.95 each plus £8.95 each for small bottle (one glass size of Prosecco We thought from the menu that we would get a variety of sandwiches but only got a choice of 1 each (2 fillings had a supplementary charge . When the food arrived we were soooo disappointed. The sandwiches were incredibly ordinary. No fancy bread or cut nicely. The ‘home made’ cakes on top were visually boring. A couple of fairy cakes with watery icing and 2 pieces of very small millionaires shortbread that looked ‘old’. The scones however looked and tasted lovely. And 2 teacups with very small portions of Eton mess were also nice. There was absolutely NOTHING special that warranted such a huge price! Nothing at all. We asked for the cakes to be boxed up and we ate them on our train journey home. The fairy cake was just ok and the millionaires shortbread did indeed taste old. On the way back to the train station we called at another place (Mama Doreen’s emporium for a drink and the afternoon teas that they were serving were incredible. We found out they were £25 each ! I don’t believe in posting a bad review on here without making the place aware first. I’ve sent them a message but had no reply. Hence I have no qualms posting this review."

Delightful place in a beautiful old arcade. The owners were very friendly. Had the Yorkshire rarebit with a ginger beer was very tasty and served with a side salad, followed by the blueberry scone delicious would definitely recommend!

My wife and I have just had three lovely days in Harrogate. On each day we visited the tea rooms. Excellent cakes, scones, teas and coffee combined with old fashioned service All the cakes etc are home made In my view not to be missed if visiting this delightful town View menu

"This is a quaint and hidden tea room located upstairs in a secluded Victorian hallway, surrounded by charming shops. The owners were delightful, and the tea and scones were excellent. It was a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle outside, making it the perfect spot for a relaxing afternoon tea."

I had another wonderful experience at the Harrogate tea rooms. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing, with happy customers enjoying the delicious food and drink. I particularly enjoyed the homemade speciality scone, while my partner opted for the tomato soup with cheese and chutney sandwich. The luxury hot chocolate was rich and heavenly, and the selection of Italian and Brazilian ground coffee was fantastic - I couldn't resist trying both. A big thank you to the owners for their excellent service.

We were visiting for the day and thought we might try this place as the arcade looked nice. The cafe was very quiet (when everywhere in Harrogate was busy) which tells a story. Friendly hosts, nice and clean although limited offerings. My scone was meant to be blueberry but 1/2 a blueberry in a whole scone seems a little mean. The price however is the most disappointing. 8.70 for a scone, butter and a pot of tea is excessive. Not even leaf tea just tea bags although it was nice. My friend had the jam and cream and it was well over 12.00. Too much and really indicates why this cafe is quiet. View menu

I absolutely adore this restaurant! If you're considering going, please do! The setting is in a charming Victorian-style building with plenty of tables. It was quiet when we arrived, allowing us to relax. We had prebooked Afternoon Tea to celebrate my mom's birthday, and it was fantastic; absolutely delicious and well worth the cost! The sandwiches were fresh and tasty, along with everything else. We were so full that we had to take the cakes to go! The gentleman who took care of us (apologies for not getting your name) was incredibly attentive, engaging us in conversation and even going above and beyond with a birthday candle and song! It was everything we could have asked for and more. Ove...

Well we certainly would highly recommend The Harrogate Tea Rooms for a delicious and plentiful Afternoon Tea! It’s necessary to book in advance and we were required to pay a £10 per person deposit. We were warmly welcomed upon arrival and shown to our reserved table, where we were each asked for our choice of sandwich. I chose Coronation Chicken AMAZING! My husband chose cheese and chutney. YUM! The bread was super fresh, and the sandwiches were bursting with filling. We were also given cute dainty teacups containing coleslaw, plus a generous balsamic dressed salad. The fruit scones were really light and fluffy and we each had a little jar of jam and a generous serving of clotted cream. We w...

"all those people who leave 1 star (or low star reviews) have either extremely high expectations or just have to be out to harm the call of a gem of a sandwich shop. I stopped yesterday, was late for lunch to my surprise and joy that they were still open, was a waiting queue to eat, so I might have been happy that they thought they would do 1 more order. I had the cheese-cutney sandwich couldn't resist the Scotch egg with black pudding. the Scotch egg was phenomenal, black pudding mixed with the sausage meat, a soft egg yolk practically still runny, which I really did not expect to add only to the already large aromene, the egg comes with a small pot homemade brown sauce (ketchup is an option, but I prefer brown soße) also the soße is a normal but it is a manifestation, it is a the sandwich was ineffective, thick-cut cheese on a homemade roll with homemade chutney (I suppose when everything else was made home) filled with fresh salad, I am curious what the difference between this is the ploughman’s, as it was in the round a ploughmans sandwich. the brot, cheese salad were all fresh taste amazing, the chutney transformed it, was like a cross between chutney salsa like the brown sauce was more sweet without much flavor, but really a great amount taste to what was possibly the best sandwich I had ever had! well made youngs, eating is great a try worth. reasonably also consider that it is the center of harrogate."
