"Me and my fiancé went to the bar and restaurant during our stay in Rye. The layout was excellent, very rustic homely feel to the pub, if you ever reserve to eat here too would highly recommend the fish and chips and Mussels both were so fresh and you get a lot for your money! Staff are friendly and attentive, great choices on local ales, beers and ciders on tap."

This review is for the pub component, as I decided to have dinner in a place with history.

**** awful, most uncomfortable night sleep ever, stinky old mattress, left me with massive back pain, no sleep what so ever, breakfast was just as bad,

eating was decent, but not much choice. I had the gnocchi with squash. good portion size, not huge/ too much. hubby had fish chips that were good but not great. only one more available. it was good, but not great.

we had dinner here while our stay in rye. nice pub with beautiful ambiente. booking is recommended as it is really busy. the staff is very friendly and eating was good, although limited options. seafood must try at rye.

A great place for family get togethers, couples too. The menu is varied: it uses good quality, local, ingredients and is well priced. The wine and beer selections are excellent as they serve Balfour wines and Jake's beer and represent good value for money.

easy whacky coworkers and easy whacky new menu. starters of carpaccio and buratta were very good. crab also. the head of the duck was hard and really poor. when I pointed out that the manager removed a desert from the bill instead of the duck! not very reasonable!

was taken here by man for Valentine's Day surprise, and we had a wonderful evening. I have several allergies that my man had added to our booking, and it was so great that the cook made me a special dessert (that was tasty and more than just the usual fruit salad . we come back!

the room was large and very well equipped. the restaurant is closed on Sunday night. we had breakfast. the personal is very friendly. our dogs were treated for breakfast, so they give it 5 pfotens. the breakfast was served with fresh homemade brot and stir perfectly cooked. we look forward to the return.
